Chapter 188 What Right Do I Have to Be Mad?

Amanda could only watch as Elias walked toward her, step after step. She almost held her breath and saw the murderous intent in the man's eyes. However, Aiden was still present, so he probably would not lose his temper...

Meanwhile, it was her turn to get her boarding pass checked. The staff smiled and said, "Ma'am, please show me your boarding pass."

The boarding pass? How can I possibly board now? Elias would never let me leave.

"It's okay. They can go first." She pulled Aiden to the side, and the long line behind them proceeded accordingly.

Elias' tall figure walked up to her, but he did not look at her. Instead, he gazed at the adorable child beside her. "Aiden, what are you doing at the airport? Where are you going?"

Every single word the man uttered was a heavy hit on Amanda's heart. She could not help but grip Aiden's hand tighter, prompting him to look up. "Mommy, my hand hurts. Why are you pinching me?"

Elias also frowned as he finally set his gaze on her pale face. "Why are you pinching him? He's too fragile to be pinched."

At that, she subconsciously let go of the small hand. Then, she lowered her head and looked at her son in remorse. "Sorry, I didn't mean it."

"It's okay. I'll always forgive you, Mommy." Aiden put on a sweet smile.

She instinctively smiled as well, almost forgetting about her current predicament. People were bustling about in the airport, and her name was repeated in the announcements, urging her to board the plane. Amanda lowered her gaze awkwardly, not daring to look the man in the eye. She feared that his looks would kill her right away.

When Elias heard Aiden's words, he suddenly felt his heart constrict. He did not say more as he bent down and picked up his dainty body. "Are you hungry?"

"Yes, but Mommy said she'll bring me to eat after the plane lands," he answered.

Subsequently, Elias carried his son in one arm with great ease, saying, "Your mommy won't have to go on a business trip anymore, and neither does she have to get on the plane. She can take you to eat right now. What do you want?" With that, the man turned around and left with his son in his arms.

Amanda silently followed the man, knowing she should not say anything because none of them would sound right. Elias probably wants to choke me to death right now.

Hence, after putting the child down in the back seat, he opened the door to the passenger seat for Amanda. He glanced at her, signaling for her to get in. She hesitated and got in, knowing she had nowhere else to escape.

No one said anything throughout the journey, including the couple. From time to time, she would peer out the window guiltily, with only Aiden chattering in the back. Elias would respond occasionally as he drove, playing along with his son as he listened to his childish stories.

At last, Elias brought Amanda and Aiden to a restaurant for dinner. Then, he prepared to send them home. The kid felt sleepy as soon as he finished eating. As Elias carried him, he lay on Elias' broad shoulder and fell asleep. His tiny mouth was slightly open, and his breaths were even.

Amanda panicked even more now. Aiden was around earlier to balance out the atmosphere, but now that he fell asleep, the air seemed to freeze around the two.

Elias tenderly placed his son in the back seat and gently closed the car door. He turned around and looked at the woman standing there. "I'll send you two home. It's getting late, so you should sleep soon," he uttered lowly.

"Oh..."

Once again, the man opened the car door in a gentlemanly manner. She did not get in this time and merely stared at him.

"What's the matter?" he asked.

"Isn't there anything you want to say to me?" This isn't right. This man can't be the Elias I know. Under normal circumstances, he would lose his temper and even try to choke me to death. He replied, "No. You should head back as soon as possible. It's getting late."

Amanda grabbed his arm. "You're mad. Of course, you are, when I ran away with your son. You're exploding with anger and even want to choke me, so why are you so calm right now? Aiden is sleeping, so you can release whatever anger you have."

Elias stayed silent as he frowned slightly. Is this how she pictures me in her mind? Have I always been unreasonable and violent? He suddenly smiled. "Didn't you hear what your son said? He will always forgive you. Since he did, what right do I have to be mad?"

She was stunned. What sort of logic is this? Am I pardoned on account of our son?

Gazing at Amanda's bewildered expression, Elias continued, "If you genuinely don't want to separate from your son, you'd better stay by my side. Only when you're with me can I ensure that you get to stay with him. If you managed to escape abroad, it'd be difficult to guarantee that."

"You mean, Grandpa-" Her eyes glinted in a slight panic.

"That's right. Even if you run to another country, Grandpa can still replace you. When that happens, the situation will turn into something out of your control. He will take away the child, and you'll be left alone abroad. How are you going to replace him then? You should know that if you stay here, I can ensure the child stays with you forever."

She snorted in dissatisfaction. "Even if I don't remarry, will Aiden stay with me forever? Will Grandpa allow it?"

The man's face darkened, looking rather angry as he said, "Is this how much you despise remarrying me? Is it that awful of an idea?"

"Yes, and I'd rather end myself!" To be honest, she was sulking as well. Moreover, she wanted to get rid of any thoughts in her head that would lead to self-insult.

Elias stared at her for a while and said, "Let's not remarry, then. It's not like I can't live without you." With that, he stuffed Amanda into the passenger seat, then turned around and walked to the other side of the

car.

For a moment, she could not understand what he said. What did he mean by that? Why did it sound so upsetting?

When she saw the man entering the car, she sneered and mocked, "Yes, of course, you can say these now. Your first love is back, and you have a new candidate for you to remarry."

At that moment, the man was furious as well. He started the car and uttered coldly, "Yes, that's right. It's exactly the way you imagined, so don't worry. I won't bother you anymore, and you can stay here peacefully."

Hearing that, Amanda was so pissed that she could not say a word. She decisively looked away and snorted, then watched as the night scene passed by swiftly outside the car window.

Twenty minutes later, the car pulled up at Northern No. 1. Elias got out of the car and carried the child in his arms. He walked ahead and did not even spare her a glance or open the car door for her.

She muttered, "Just as expected, he's no gentleman. He can only put on the act for three minutes at most."

The man carried the child into the elevator, where Amanda went after them.

Ding!

The elevator doors slowly opened, and Elias carried Aiden toward the door. Hearing the doorbell, Selina ran over to open up. The first thing she saw was Elias with Aiden and a sullen Amanda behind the man.
