Chapter 220 Chastised by Your Ex-wife's Boyfriend?
Amanda was in no mood to talk about this matter. With a frustrated expression, she shouted, "Yes, yes, and yes! The president of the Allegra Group has already approached me to come up with a prenuptial agreement. Does that tell you it's real or not?"
Simon fell silent. Is Elias serious about this? Didn't he seem like he had deep feelings for Amanda? Didn't he vow to get back with her? Why did he change all of a sudden? There must be a reasonable explanation.
The next moment, Amanda walked past Simon and exited the bedroom. He turned around and called after her, "Amanda..."
"I'm begging you to leave me alone. I'm tired." Her tone sounded helpless, like she refused to say another word.
Since it was not appropriate to say anything else, Simon let her leave.
Once he heard the villa door being closed, he took out his phone and hesitated for a while before deciding to call Elias.
Meanwhile, Elias was meeting a client in the conference room when his phone suddenly rang. He took a look and saw it was from Simon.
Since Simon rarely called him, it meant he must have called about something very important.
After thinking about it, the man answered the call with a swipe of his finger and placed his phone beside his ear. "What's the matter?"
Simon's confused voice came from the other end. "Nothing much. I just want to ask what you have up your sleeve. Don't you like Amanda and want to get back with her? Don't you want to get Aiden back? What the heck are you doing? Why are you getting involved with the Allegra Group?"
Listening to the strain of questions from his phone, Elias frowned in frustration. Why was everyone asking him for a reason when whatever he was doing could not be revealed to others? Jack was a sly fox, so if he told anyone his plan, Jack would definitely replace out about it. Therefore, he had to keep this a secret from Amanda, let alone Simon.
The man held his forehead with his long fingers and spoke in a frustrated voice. "It does not concern you. Don't you understand a man's true nature? With my identity, how could I be willing to stay with only one woman? As for a child, any woman would be willing to bear my child. Since you like Amanda, you can freely pursue her. I won't bother."
"Elias, will you take responsibility for what you said today?" Simon sounded a little angry on the phone, like he wanted to come over and punch Elias.
As for Elias, he said those words because Jack and his secretary had entered the door a moment earlier.
Meanwhile, Jack pretended he did not care while eavesdropping on the phone call. The meeting room was extremely quiet, so much so that one could hear a pin drop.
Elias watched as the cunning old fox sat on the couch, seemingly looking at the document in his hand when he was actually listening to his answer.
Therefore, Elias could only resolutely reply, "Of course, I will take responsibility for my words. I am no longer interested in Amanda, and if you're interested in providing for my son, I can give Aiden to you. Stephanie will bear me a child after we get married, anyway."
"Elias Winters, do you hear what you're saying? It seems like you made Amanda quite furious last night, or else she wouldn't have been so angry. You're such a sc*mbag! Not only did you hurt her four years ago, but you still haven't changed four years later. I didn't expect you to still act this way. Since you've decided to give up on Amanda and Aiden, you'd better not go anywhere near them again!" Once Simon was done, he immediately hung up.
Elias listened to the beeping of the phone and felt his heart ache. He remained calm on the surface because he knew that once he said that, he would never be able to get Amanda and Aiden back. However, the burden on his shoulders was too crucial, so he could only give up his feelings.
When Jack saw Elias putting away his phone, he spoke up. "What's the matter? Got chastised by your ex-wife's boyfriend?"
After snorting, Elias replied, "It doesn't matter. She's my ex-wife, so we will never have anything to do with each other ever again. Also, I'm getting engaged next month. Let's forget about this. By the way, Mr. Allegra, I heard my aunt say that she has begun acquiring some small businesses?"
Jack nodded upon hearing that. "Yes. Your aunt isn't easily reckoned with. Since she shamelessly took away your grandfather's shares, she is afraid you might want to take them back, so she is now trying all she can to buy supporters to resist your attack whenever it may be."
Frowning, Elias thought he might have indeed underestimated Anna. She had disliked him since he was young and always said his grandfather was biased toward him and doted on him until he behaved lawlessly.
But her spendthrift son was also doted on till the point that he behaved lawlessly as well. That young man was indeed immoral because he had gotten several women pregnant and lost quite a lot of money. It seemed like he had to accelerate his plans.
Elias pretended to look serious. "By the way, Mr. Allegra, where are we going to hold the engagement party next week? I've already started preparing the invitations. I have quite a number of friends and family. How about you?"
Jack was happy to hear Elias mentioning the engagement on his own and smiled. "You don't have to worry about that. I'll take care of everything, and you will only need to attend the party with Steph. You youngsters shouldn't waste time on those matters. Just focus on whatever matters you have on hand."
"That's great. I have three projects running at the same time, so I am quite busy. Thank you for stepping in, Mr. Allegra."
"We're about to become a family. Why are you still calling me Mr. Allegra?" Jack teased.
A hint of displeasure appeared in Elias' eyes, but he still complied. "Thank you, Jack. You've worked hard on this matter."
"Good. Steph and I recently had a conflict again. If you have the time, please accompany her. After all, she's my only daughter, and I would not want her to suffer any grievances. Moreover, feelings are developed, so I'm sure Steph will gradually forget that poor man and fall for you. Our families are a good match for each other."
Elias nodded. "I'll go to her tonight. No matter how busy I am, I must make time for my fiancé. She is the most important."
"Very good. It's great that you understand that a harmonious family is the key to prosperity."
Jack was growing more satisfied with his future son-in-law. However, he never had a chance or reason to get the Winters Family to propose marriage to his family before, so he had to seize this chance to do
SO.
"Your aunt will also attend the board of directors meeting later, so you have to prepare yourself and control your anger. We still have bigger matters to attend to, so don't get too emotional, alright?" Jack reminded Elias.
With a slight frown, Elias stated, "I understand. I won't mess up at such an important moment. I'll listen to your orders."
