Chapter 224 Don't Go, Elias!

Elias sported a gloomy expression and asked unenthusiastically, "Did you make me come here only for this?"

Do I look like I have nothing better to do? My son is on a drip in the hospital, and this woman is asking me to look for her boyfriend.

Unable to take it anymore, he flared up like a volcano eruption. "What's wrong with you? My son is on a drip, but I left the hospital and came looking for you, thinking that you needed urgent help. However, you just want me to search for your boyfriend. Do you think I have all day?"

With that, he turned around and left.

His son was on a drip while calling out to him subconsciously. If he wasn't even by his side, he wouldn't be qualified to be a father.

Just like what Aiden said, it was no use having a father if Elias couldn't even fulfill his duties.

He was supposed to stay by his son's side so that when Aiden woke up, he would immediately see his father.

"Don't go, Elias!"

Stephanie held on to the man like he was a lifesaver.

Elias growled and urged, "Let go of me!"

Presently, Stephanie desperately needed to replace out where Crispin was. She had just received a call from Crispin, and he sounded like he was in a terrible state.

"Elias, if you dare leave, I'll tell my father about our plan. I'll also go and harass your ex-wife and your son!"

She knew she acted like a shrew, but she had no other choice. Only Elias was able to replace Crispin in the shortest time possible.

Elias squinted and examined the woman, who was panting from sobbing for a long time. "Are you trying to threaten me?"

"I have no other choice. Crisp is in danger, so I have to save him. I can't let my dad destroy his future. You're only making use of my dad to get back your grandfather's shares. You won't marry me or love me. If my dad replaces out about it, he won't lend you a helping hand. Try me!"

Stephanie grabbed the man's arm tightly, worried that he would turn around and leave the next moment.

Needless to say, Jack wouldn't help Elias out if he found out about their secret.

Elias glowered at her, suppressing his urge to kill the woman before his eyes.

Even if they were in a relationship, he would never marry Stephanie, not to mention that they were merely putting on an act. The woman was annoying and unreasonable.

They went on to stare at each other for around ten minutes. Stephanie would never give in, for she was determined to save Crispin.

On the other hand, Elias was worried about his son.

As a father, he had no choice but to make a concession. He said, "Give me your boyfriend's contact number and your phone." Stephanie was startled, not expecting the man to agree to it so soon. She thought Elias would turn her down again. "Oh, okay. Right away."

She quickly looked around for her phone. While she was throwing a tantrum at the butler moments ago, she had tossed it away.

That's odd. My phone is supposed to be in this room.

She got down on all fours to look for her phone. All of a sudden, the man's leather shoes came into her sight. He showed her the phone and said grimly, "It was on the bed."

Stephanie lifted her head and thought she was looking at a savior. The man had just picked up her phone from the bed, and his back was against the light coming in through the windows. It was as if he had just stepped out of the light.

"I was too anxious, so I forgot about it..."

An impatient Elias said, "I'll help you settle this, but you have to promise that you'll never expose the secret. Otherwise, I'll take you with me even if I fall into hell."

"I understand. It's not like I want to harass your ex-wife. As long as you can help replace Crisp, I won't make a fuss."

Elias shot her a glare. "If I had a daughter like you, and she was going crazy over a terrible guy, I would've severed ties with her."

With that, he whirled around and left.

That was indeed how he felt. If he had a daughter like Stephanie, who was bawling her eyes out for a poor man, he would've blacked out from his anger.

Stephanie was rooted to the spot. When she came to her senses, the man had already left the room.

She ran after him and saw the man's towering figure at the landing of the staircase. "What do you mean, Elias? Are you saying I'm a foolish woman? How could you say that Crisp is a terrible guy? He's just in love with me. Even if I wasn't Jack Allegra's daughter, he would've still loved me!"

When Elias heard that while walking down the stairs, he snorted.

Whatever. I don't care about her, and the matter has nothing to do with me.

The moment Elias left Allegra Villa, Jack was informed of the incident.

Upon entering the car, Elias told someone to replace out Crispin's whereabouts.

Just then, he received a call from Jack. He already knew what the older man was going to say, for he had just left the place.

Stephanie was like a well-protected fool, for she wasn't even aware that her father had been keeping an eye on her.

With a dispassionate expression, Elias connected the call and held the phone beside his ear. "What's wrong, Mr. Allegra?"

"Why are you helping my daughter look for that poor guy? She'll be your fiancée soon. Aren't you jealous?"

His voice sounded doubtful and probing.

Without hesitation, Elias replied, "It's because I'm jealous that I have to help her look for that man. Her mind is occupied by that piece of trash, so how is she going to get engaged to me wholeheartedly? We can't rush things over when it comes to love, and I'm not in a rush. After the engagement, I'll have plenty of time to win her heart. One day, I'll make her loyal to me only."

Upon hearing that, Jack was pleased.

"You're pretty charismatic, Elias. Successful people don't fuss over small matters. That poor man will never be a match for you, for you're an accomplished man. Steph will realize you're the best partner for her one day."

"Alright, I understand." Elias pressed his hand against his forehead while suffering a headache.

"There's no need to search for Crispin. I'll pass him to you, and you can do whatever you want to him. However, I want you to make sure Steph will stop loving that poor man."

Elias closed his eyes and replied lethargically, "Don't worry, Mr. Allegra. I'll give you a satisfying outcome."

With that, he hung up the call.

That cunning old man has been trying to replace out if I'm sincere to Stephanie, and he's also forcing me to work harder to win her heart.

After the call ended, Elias instructed Yacob, "Go to the hospital."

"Yes."

Aiden was still on a drip, so Elias had to stay by his side. He wanted to make sure his son would immediately see him upon regaining consciousness. Soon, they arrived at the hospital. Since Elmer was no longer around to keep an eye on him, Elias felt at ease.
