Chapter 522 I Will Keep Calling Until You Answer the Phone

So, was that woman with Elias all night last night?

Amanda's eyes instantly welled up with tears as her pent-up frustration and anger burst forth.

Initially, she had felt guilty, thinking that Elias went out drinking because of their argument, which led to him being hospitalized for gastric bleeding. However, now it seemed Elias. hadn't been lonely last night. At least he had a beautiful woman by his side.

So, was that the woman whom he rescued at the banquet?

Tears slowly trickled down her cheeks, slid to her jawline, and fell to the ground like a broken string of pearls.

Amanda placed the soup pot she had been cooking for hours on the nearby chair outside the ward and silently walked

"way.

Was this how marriages were?

Was it impossible for men to remain faithful to their marriages for a lifetime?

Would they always be drawn to other women and unable to resist the temptation to cheat?

Perhaps Elias was no different from those men, growing weary of his wife and children at home while constantly being attracted to beautiful women outside.

She didn't want to argue with Elias whether he had fallen for another woman. She just felt a chill in her heart.

In the ward, Elias woke up from his dream and grabbed the hand of the woman beside her. "Don't leave, Amanda!"

When their eyes met, he realized she wasn't his wife, so he immediately let go of her hand. and asked, "What are you doing here?"

It took several seconds for Elias to realize that this was the woman Simon choked at the banquet last night...

Casey hesitated momentarily before briefly recounting what had happened last night, "Well... last night, I ran into you at the club. You insisted I take you home to explain things to your girlfriend, and then you passed out. So, I called an ambulance to save you."

Elias' expression became increasingly grim, furrowing his brows. "Have you informed my family?"

When he woke up, he expected to see Amanda there, but the first person he saw was not her.

"Yes, the hospital has already contacted your family."

They called, but Amanda didn't come.

Elias was utterly disappointed. How could Amanda become so heartless? Even if they had argued, he ended up in the hospital, yet she didn't even bother to check on him.

The old Amanda he knew would never behave like this.

He couldn't figure out what went wrong.

Elias looked at Casey before him and said, "Thank you for last night. You can go now. I'm fine. My family will come take care of me."

"Um... alright, I'll leave then." Casey also felt out of place staying here, especially since he was someone's boyfriend. Taking care of him should be the responsibility of his partner.

She turned and left the ward. However, as soon as she walked out, she saw a thermos flask on a nearby chair, which looked like it belonged to someone's household.

Could it be that Mr. Winters' family had already visited?

She took the thermos flask and returned to Elias' bedside. "Mr. Winters, I found this outside. the door. Is it from your family?"

Elias looked at the thermos flask, opened the lid, and found it contained medicinal.

soup.

His first thought was that Amanda had come and happened to see Casey in his ward, so she angrily left the thermos and walked away. "Help me get my phone."

"Oh, okay." Casey was utterly bewildered by the situation and fetched the phone from the side table nearby, handing it to Elias.

He took the phone and said, "Thank you, Miss Casey. You can go now. I'll have my bodyguard escort you. Just wait in the parking lot."

At this moment, Yacob walked into the ward. "Mr. Winters..."

Before he could finish speaking, Elias interrupted, "Yacob, escort this Miss Casey back home."

Of course."

Casey could tell he was in no mood to chat with her, so she tactfully turned around and left

the ward with Yacob.

After hearing the door close, Elias couldn't wait any longer and dialed Amanda's phone. It turned out that he had misunderstood her, but now the misunderstanding was probably even worse. He needed to explain himself properly.

However, after making several calls, no one answered. Elias knew that Amanda was avoiding his calls. So, he sent a series of messages on WhatsApp, urging her to answer the phone, but there was still no response.

Finally, he left a message on WhatsApp. 'I will keep calling until you answer the phone.

Then, he started calling over and over again, persistently.

On the fiftieth call, Elias finally got through. He excitedly shouted Amanda's name, "Amanda, where are you? Can you come replace me? Let's talk face-to-face. Things are not what you think. What you saw is not real."

Amanda replied, "What are you talking about? Let's talk after you're discharged. I've asked the doctor, and they want to observe you in the hospital for two more days."

"I want to see you now. I can't wait for two days."

"Elias, can't you stop being so I know what you want to talk to me about. You just want to say that woman has nothing to do with you, right? I understand. Please just stay in the hospital and take care of yourself."

After saying that, Amanda was about to hang up the phone, but Elias spoke sternly, "What's with your attitude? Do you not care about me anymore? Even if I cheated, you don't care?" Rather than being angry at Amanda's attitude, Elias was more flustered. He didn't like Amanda's indifferent attitude toward him.

They were a married couple. They were supposed to spend their lives together. So, what was the meaning of this? How could she be so indifferent? Did she not love him anymore? The possibility that Amanda didn't love him anymore made Elias furious.

"Elias, I don't want to argue with you right now. You drank so much last night. Go and drink. the soup I cooked for you. We'll talk when you get back. I need to take Aiden to school."

Her dismissive tone made Elias feel even more frustrated.

"Amanda! I command you to come to the hospital after taking Aiden to school, or else I will leave the hospital right now. No one can stop me. If you don't believe me, try me."

After saying that, he hung up

On the other side, Amanda looked at the disconnected phone call and couldn't help but smirk. It was pretty amusing that someone was currently entangled with another woman yet couldn't muster the anger to confront her properly!

Did he think she was that easy to push around?

She used taking Aiden to school as an excuse to avoid further arguing with Elias. She found the argument futile anyway.

However, Elias' threat just now had struck a chord with her. It nearly caused her to have at stomach ulcer, leaving her in a state of restlessness.

Amanda nervously bit her lip as she glanced at her phone screen. Eventually, she decided to make a trip to the hospital. She wanted to see what more this "young master" had to say.
