Chapter 12

Suzy was carrying a backpack and clutching the straps with both hands. She said in a low voice, "Do they have the right to punish me? It was self-defense!" Cece looked at her in disbelief. "Tiffany's leg was broken and her father came here looking so aggressive. Was he willing to leave the matter at that?" Suzy smiled and said, "In any case, it's resolved!"

Although Cece found it suspicious, she was still relieved and followed Suzy out of the school while muttering, "This is my fault. If I hadn't been pestering my muse, we would've left earlier and such a thing wouldn't have happened."

Suzy did not want Cece to blame herself for this matter and said, "Tiffany came prepared. Perhaps she was waiting for me there. It would've been the same if we left earlier or later!"

"She deserved it!" Cece was full of anger, and her face quickly changed as she looked at Suzy with bright eyes. "Do you practice martial arts, Suzy? Quick, teach me how to deal with Tiffany in a single move!" Suzy pursed her lips. "I probably just hit a nerve."

Cece rolled her eyes. "You got me excited for nothing. I thought you came from some mysterious martial arts family!"

Suzy snorted. "You should stop reading those novels. They're not good for your brain development!"

The two laughed while talking and walked out of the school gate in a hurry. When they left the school gate, Cece pulled Suzy's arm and motioned her to look to the left. "Look over there. It's our school's brightest sun."

Suzy turned to look and saw a Mercedes-Benz parked on the side of the road. The driver got out of the car and opened the door to let Sunny get in.

There were many people around who stopped and watched her. Sunny was receiving the envy of women and the admiration of guys. Some even started shouting about how pretty she was!

Cece sighed. "Say, why is Sunny Shirley's life so good? She's good at her studies, pretty, and was born into such a wealthy family. If I were her, I'd be thanking the heavens for being so kind to me!"

Suzy shifted her gaze and said with a smile, "Perhaps the last two points you mentioned were destiny, but you can work hard for the first point!"

"Come on now. With this IQ of mine, I can't keep up with her even if I study hard. But you can!" Cece turned to look at Suzy. "To be honest, if you had a rich dad, who could defeat you as the campus belle? It's a pity that you lost to Sunny in the family aspect, so you're merely stuck as our department's belle."

Suzy nodded in agreement. "You can still call me the campus belle in private."

Cece laughed and dragged Suzy to the opposite side "Then I'd like two!" Suzy seized the chance to rob Cece. "Fine! It's only because you're pretty!"

Sunny returned to the villa by car. Since Jarold came home early today, the family of three sat together for dinner.

Jarold sat on the main seat and said to Yara, "Call Zee when you have the time and ask her to come home for dinner this weekend."

Yara raised her head, "Is there a celebration?"

"Can't we just ask Zee to come home for dinner even if there's no celebration?" Jarold frowned slightly. "Besides, there was a misunderstanding on your birthday. If we meet up, the misunderstanding will be gone."

When that day's matter was brought up, Yara knew she was in the wrong and said with embarrassment, "Then you call her!"

Sunny scooped some salad and gave it to Yara. Then, she said with a gentle smile, "Dad's right. The family can't be in conflict for so long. I'll personally bake a cake for Zeezee this weekend."

Yara's eyes were filled with gratitude. "Our Neenee's the most sensible girl! Oh right..."

Yara put down her spoon and hurriedly said, "Mr. Liam called me in the afternoon and said that there'll be an exhibition in the art museum in early June. He asked you to prepare a painting in the national style, which may be displayed at the exhibition."

"Really?" Sunny's eyes turned bright. "Then I'll start preparing right away."

"Mm-hmm." Yara nodded lovingly.

After dinner, Sunny went back to her room, thinking about the subject of the exhibition. At this moment, Yara knocked on the door and came in with a bowl of fruits in her hand. "I noticed that you didn't eat much earlier, so I asked Zanda to cut this up for you. Eat up."

Then, Sunny took out her previous paintings and asked Yara to help her with choosing the reference.

The mother and daughter pair talked for a while. Then, Sunny started yawning. She asked Yara to look at the paintings first while she would go to take a shower.

Yara helped her to tidy up her desk. When her finger touched the mouse, the computer on the desk immediately turned on. Yara inadvertently glanced toward it and frowned.

On the computer screen was River University's forum, and the title of the post was eye-catching. [Suzy Shirley and Tiffany Jones beating each other for Yasiel Quig!]

Yara skimmed through the post and it was about Suzy fighting over a guy with another girl in school. There was a lot of discussion below the post.

She frowned and closed the page after a few quick glances. Her face turned dark. Suzy was her biological daughter but was wrongly taken away at birth. They only found her when she was 17, and Yara had wanted to make it up to her as well. However, looking at Suzy's lack of excellence and comparing her to Sunny, who was smart and sensible, how could she not be partial?

Yara could not help but be thankful that she never disclosed Suzy as the daughter of the Shirley family. Otherwise, it would have been hard for her to shake this person off!

After leaving Sunny's room, Yara's face remained gloomy. When she returned to the bedroom, she saw Jarold holding his phone and trying to make a call. She immediately shouted, "Don't call Suzy!"

Jarold was taken aback. "What's the matter?"

Yara's face was dark. "I don't want to see her!"

"What happened? You were still fine when we were eating earlier." Jarold looked at her with a frown.

"It's nothing. I just don't want to look at her!" Yara said as she took out her pajamas from the closet and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

Jarold tossed the phone onto the table and sighed deeply.

Green Garden Villa.

Suzy came back from a run and lay down on the sofa after taking a shower. As she stroked Parsi's head with one hand, she opened the mobile game with the other.

As soon as she logged in, the system prompted her of a received friend request.

Suzy was immediately delighted after clicking on it. It was Ean.

She first sent a voice message over. "Have you finished your homework?"

Ean said, "Why don't you come over and check now?"

Suzy replied with superfluous words, "Follow me from the back! I'll take us up the rank!"

Ean sent an eye-rolling emoji to her.

Suzy was such a bad gamer that Ean would constantly show disdain to her for it. Yet, he liked playing with her anyway. Perhaps it was because he was bad at it himself and found a sense of accomplishment when playing with her! The two played the game for an hour and a half. Suzy saw that it was almost ten o'clock and urged Ean to go to bed.

Ean did not respond to her, but his character in the game went offline.

Suzy took out the third-grade textbook she bought today and opened it. Since she was now Ean's tutor, she had to work hard. Suzy had never been to elementary school, nor did she follow the syllabus step by step back then. Hence, she had to make up for it now.

On Saturday, it was still the Laine family's driver who picked her up to go to the Laine family's villa.

When Suzy was heading upstairs, she did not see George around. Perhaps he had gone out or had not gotten up just yet.

Enoah was not here either, so she probably went on a date again.

She knocked on the door and entered Ean's room. He was still playing games. Suzy put down her bag and said warmly, "Today, let's first review what you learned this week."

"Okay!" Ean sat on the sofa and responded, but he barely budged.

Suzy waited for him. After five, ten, 15, and soon, 30 minutes had passed, Ean was still refusing to move his butt from the sofa.
