The Sweet Pursuit by Golden Autumn -
Chapter 88
Chapter 88
Suzy's scalp went numb, and she was stunned when she saw the man's sudden appearance. For a moment, she forgot to dodge, and the pillow thrown by Ean hit her head. "Stop fooling around!" George turned his eyes and reprimanded Ean in a low voice. Ean did not expect it to actually hit Suzy. He nimbly jumped off the sofa and asked, "Are you dumb? Why didn't you dodge?". Suzy rubbed her head and said, "It's alright. It doesn't hurt." Ean looked at George and said, "Uncle George! Ms. Shirley said she likes you!" Suzy, "..." She truly needed to consider resigning now.
George looked at her with a half-smile. "Is that so?"
Suzy smiled warmly and said calmly, "Yes. I also like Ean and Enoah. Thank you for giving me a job. You're all very good people." Ean shivered in disgust. "I can feel my goosebumps forming!"
Suzy smiled gently. "Mr. Laine, I think that the test papers this time weren't as comprehensive. I hope to give Ean a comprehensive test next week." Ean's eyes immediately widened in shock. George chuckled lightly. He seemed aware of what was happening and said lightly, "It just so happens that I came by for this too. The questions this time around were too simple. Next time, you should make the questions a little more difficult so that we can see Ean's true standard."
Then, he added, "I'll show his father the result of his next test papers."
Ean.!!
He was like a small sail floating on the sea, getting hit by two large ships at the same time.
When Suzy went downstairs after the second lesson, Sena was still in the living room. She was alone.
She deliberately turned a blind eye to Suzy, only looking at Ean as she smiled warmly. "Ean, I went to the mall today and saw the new Lego Planet series. I bought it for you. Would you like to see it?"
Ean glanced lightly at the Lego set placed on the coffee table. "No need, my uncle already had someone buy it for me a few days ago." "Is that so?" Sena smiled awkwardly. "Then give it to a classmate of yours." Only then did she turn to look at Suzy, but her smile faded. "I heard that Ean's grades have improved a lot. You've worked hard, Ms. Shirley. Since Ean's parents are not at home, I'll have to thank you in their stead. Please be careful when you leave, Ms. Shirley. I won't be seeing you
off now!" It was as if she had completely regarded herself as the madam of the Laine family. Before Suzy could say something, Ean suddenly spoke up, "Ms. Shirley isn't leaving. She's staying over for lunch."
Sena shot a glance at Ean and said, "It's not appropriate for an outsider to always eat at home, right?"
"Whose home are we at?" Ean retorted. Sena's smile froze, and her face flushed red. Ean's tone was cool. "This is my house, so I get a say on who's actually the outsider. Ms. Shirley is my teacher and my friend. No one else has the right to say that she's an outsider." There was a ripple in Suzy's gaze. She turned to look at Ean and felt a slight warmth in her heart. Sena's eyes were cold. She looked up at George who was coming down the stairs and called out to him slightly aggrievedly, "Georgie!" George did not look at her but turned to the servant outside the kitchen. "Ms. Shirley likes tomato soup. Did you prepare it today?" The servant immediately said, "It's all ready. You may have your meal right away." Sena stood there and felt the wind from outside the window slap her face. She was angry and aggrieved. She wanted to rush out the door in an instant. Nonetheless, when she saw Suzy, she calmed herself down again and pretended nothing had happened.
Suzy was forced to stay for lunch, and her path was blocked by Sena when she went to the bathroom on the first floor to wash her hands,
Sena had undisguised disgust and jealousy in her eyes as she said, "Don't even think for a second that Georgie truly likes you. He did that on purpose to anger me!"
Suzy felt that Sena was more pitiful than Tiffany. Whether she was sincere or not, at least Tiffany got to have Yasiel anyway.
