Chapter 249:

Caden looked at Alicia.

When she had needed his help in the past, she had always been shy and innocent.

But now, she was filled with nothing but arrogance.

Alice continued eating.

Feeling his stomach growling, Caden picked up a fork and began to eat with ease.

Then Alice put down her fork.

“How are things going with Joshua?” he asked.

In a disinterested tone, Caden replied, “I’m almost done.

“Will the Green family cause any trouble?” Alice asked, her voice filled with concern.

“I’ve been doing some research on them lately.

Lilliana’s father is known for his quick temper.

Do you think he might interfere with your business?”

Caden looked at her.

“You replace time to investigate the Green family but not me?”

In terms of power, he was far superior to the Green family.

Seeing his confidence, Alice’s brow furrowed slightly.

“I know you’re strong, but your business is international, and they are known troublemakers locally.

It’s better to be cautious.

Caden played it down.

“The Green family’s main investment is in show business, which means they are no match for real capitalists.

This reassured Alice.

If he wasn't worried, then neither was she.

She didn't want to be a burden on him.

After eating, Alice took a bath while the soup she had prepared earlier simmered in the kitchen.

She poured a bowl, warmed it up, and took it to her study.

Caden was not fond of soup, considering it to be low in nutrition and high in purines, a risky food in his opinion.

However, it was difficult to resist Alicia's culinary skills.

Her soups were tasty, healthy and increasingly addictive.

Once she finished her soup, Caden pulled her onto his lap.

He unfolded a document and looked at her with a playful smile.

"What is this?" asked Alice.

She glanced casually at the document, and her cheeks immediately flushed.

She reached out to cover it, but Caden grabbed her hand and pulled her closer.

He leaned towards her.

“You’ve taken documents from my company and have been secretly studying intelligent robotics.

What’s your plan? Are you trying to help me?”

Realizing that her intentions had been discovered, Alice admitted, "You've done so much for me that I wanted to give something back.

"

Caden always appreciated her sincerity.

In a world where personal gain often prevailed, genuine sincerity was a treasure.

Caden asked, “Is it hard to learn?”

Alice nodded.

It was indeed difficult.

It was really difficult.

She once mentioned that Lina still had room for improvement, which motivated her to lend a hand.

Surprisingly, even the basics were a challenge.

That's when she realized how skilled Yolanda was.

However, Alicia was still determined to learn.

“I am young and I am not afraid of challenges.

If I succeed and help you, it will be a stroke of luck.

If not, it is still a worthwhile experience.

Caden laughed.

“Why waste time here when you could excel in areas you’re already skilled in? You don’t need to learn this.

I don’t need your help at work.

Alice felt a pang of disappointment.

She replied vaguely: “We’ll see.

It’s just something to keep me busy.
