The Wife I Never Met -
Chapter 157
” Hey what do you mean, we didn’t tell you? Are you not here with us right now? Come on grab a seat and join us, we don’t mind.”
She freely welcomed them to their table which made Lina even happier as she’d be spending more time with her Aunty.
Stacey and Liam though were not as happy as they both felt that they were being put in a very tight position.
So Liam looked at his wife and tried to politely dispute her invite to the other couple,
” Honey, I don’t think that he really meant it. I’m sure they would want to enjoy their time together, don’t you think?”
” Ow… “
As Ciara was about to apologize to them for her impulsive decision, Matthew had already pulled out a chair for Stacey to sit and he also sat down.
” Nonsense!, Do you know the meaning of that saying, ‘the more the marrier’. It will be more fun if we all sit together and enjoy this meal, it’s just a pity that Finnick and his wife are not here as well.”
Since now they would not be able to kick him out of their spot as he had already made himself comfortable, Liam decided to let his friend be.
They chatted for the longest time, while still enjoying the meal. Ciara offered to compensate their time spent with them by asking them to do the cake tasting on their behalf, and Matthew being the one who loved eating readily agreed to this offer.
It wasn’t until it was Lina’s time for bed that they started preparing to leave the restaurant, they said their goodbye and made their home.
” You know at some point you’ll need to stop trying to match people together as that might back fire on you one day. It is like how you’ve said it in that book of yours, if it is genuine and they were made to be together then there is no need for any external forces as it will all develop in time.”
Liam spoke as Ciara came out of Lina’s room after putting her in bed.
” So you do read my books, don’t you?”
That was all that Ciara took out from what Liam had just said, and she was really happy to hear her husband quoting her words from her books.
” You know that’s not the point.”
He then pulled her closer to him and gave her a light perk.
” You shouldn’t be on other people’s business like that, if they want to be in a relationship then let them work hard for it, so that when things don’t go according to how they’ve imagined, they don’t blame you for it.”
Ciara knew that what Liam was telling her was true, but all she wanted was for her friends to be happy and nothing else.
It was as if Liam was able to read her mind as he lifted up her chin to look her in the eye.
” I know you mean well and that you want them to be happy, in fact I also want them to be happy and settle down but we must also remember that they are old now and are very much capable of making their own decisions.”
” I guess you are right, I just hope they stop fooling around and realize the importance of the other in each of their lives.”
Liam then pulled her in for another hug and then said.
” Don’t worry, they will.”
Days passed by really quick and it was now time for every one to head over to the resort, the wedding would be held in just two days.
Liam had booked the whole resort, so no one was able to have access to it except for the invited guests and their hired staff.
“Are you sure you packed everything that you will need?, There’s no coming back if there’s anything left behind”
” Yah yah everything is in there.”
Those were Ciara’s parents as they were packing up their luggage in the cab, getting ready to leave and head up to the resort. They were both in high spirits, both happy to witness and be part of this important, joyful chapter in their daughter’s life.
Once all was packed up, the whole family including Ciara’s granddad got in to the car and started their long journey to the resort.
By they time they arrived, the sun was starting to set but they sure didn’t miss the beauty of it all.
The resort was built in an island with only a few other people who were residents. So as they approach with their small boat, they were able to see the whole view of that resort.
The resort itself had two wings, one was meant for the groom’s side of the family and the other was for Ciara’s side of the family.
In order to gain access to the resort they needed to present their wedding invitation card and then they checked for their name in their computer and there after will be allocated a room for the weekend.
Once everyone had checked in they all headed over to their rooms which definitely drove the ladies crazy and immediately called each other while screaming in excitement.
” Gosh Ciara do you really want us to really die here out of all places, but yah kill me I don’t mind as long as you kill me in luxury hahaha.”
” Owh my word can you guys get married more often and take us to places like these.”
Lisa commented as she turned her video over to show off her room revealing all the marble and real gold finishes of her room thinking that her room was better than the others.
” Hehehe someone is getting ahead of herself, look at mine darling, I even have a bar fridge full of wine and snacks. God I’m living life like a princess, why can’t I just move in here forever.”
Melissa also showed off her room in the group call leaving both Stacey and Donna laughing, but when Ciara notice the dissatisfaction in Lisa’s face she spoke up and clarified things.
” Hey Hey, don’t be like that you guys. Everyone have the same things in their rooms, all the snacks were packed according to your likes and preferences. The bar fridge may not be at the same place as in the other room but it’s there, check that cabinet with the coffee station, who knows, that might just be the bar fridge you’re looking for.”
Indeed when Lisa opened that cabinet, she noticed that, the door was actually for the fridge and not the cabinet itself.
” wooo fancy, this is really beyond my thinking ability.”
They were all amazed at the level of sophistication of that resort and they all wondered how much it costed for Liam to book the whole place.
” Ok ok, you guys need to relax and enjoy yourselves but don’t forget dinner is at seven sharp. You will get a a program for tomorrow’s activities when we meet at the dinning hall later.”
After chatting for some time with the girls, Ciara ended the call and took the time to be with her family. As the rules had been laid out, they weren’t allowed to share the same room with Liam so this was the only time she could spend with him.
And since she’d be busy, she won’t be seeing much of Lina as well, which was why she chose her family over hanging out with her friends.
After Ciara had ended the call with her friends, they continued with their conversation and decided to continue their discussion over some snacks and drinks over at Lisa’s room.
So each one of them picked up something they’ll be able to share with the group from their snack box and headed over to Lisa’s room.
When they got there she had already opened her bottle of wine and started drinking.
“Hey why didn’t you tell us that we will be drinking I could’ve brought another bottle.”
Melissa complained as she too wanted to have a little to drink so that she could get herself ready for the weekend.
Lisa patted her shoulder as she passed right through her to get another glass,
” Well my friend we will have to save that for when we come back from dinner, because I’m not going to sleep early when I don’t have work tomorrow.”
She then poured the wine for Melissa and then looked and Stacey and Donna.
” Friend there’re only two wine glasses here, I’ll pour you guys in a coffee mug, ok?”
Stacey gave her a questioning look, then asked.
” So you hate us that much that you are serving us in mugs as your guests?”
Lisa knew Stacey for the longest of time so she was aware that Stacey was just fooling around and wasn’t really serious about her complaint.
” Well if you really want a nice wine glass, you can go back to you room and bring two. We will try to wait for you hehehe.”
” God, you are so annoying”
Stacey rolled her eyes as she took the coffee mug with wine in it, from Lisa’s hand.
” Mhmmm, this tastes expensive! What brand is it, Gosh I’ve never seen that before.”
Said Donna suprised by the taste of the wine, but everyone turned to look at her as they were shocked by her response.
