Chapter 283

Chapter 283

The reporter immediately called Tony after hanging up on Diana. He told him that he had done exactly ashe said and that Diana certainly would not be acting rashly. Tony told him that he understood. He wasrather satisfied with the outcome; he hung up the phone and reported the matter to his boss. Seanlistened to him quietly. At first, he seemed as if he was thinking about something. However, he thenfrowned and had a look of worry.

Tony started to panic. ‘Did I not do well?’ he wondered. “Boss? What’s the matter?”

He was panicking.

‘I musn’t bring harm to Dr. May!’ Sean snapped out of his thought and glanced at Tony, “It’s not what youthink.” “Your actions were good and timely. I’m just worried that Diana will use someone to bring harm toMolly,” Sean said icily. He continued speaking of his concerns, “This woman wants to cause a ruckus. She probably won’t give up easily, even if she can’t do it herself. Perhaps she would convince Lara or theothers from the May family to spread the rumor instead.”

He thought of how Tony said that Diana had a way of talking people into doing things. If that was true, she would certainly get something to help her achieve her goal.

Even so, he still was not certain of it.

“Hurry and get someone to watch her,” he instructed. Tony immediately complied with his instructions. However, he could not help but think to himself in shock, ‘Diana is so vile. Dr. May never did anything toher, so why is she acting like she wants her dead?’

Diana got to the hospital before they could do anything. She sprinted to Lara’s ward. When she saw Larasitting on the bed, she caught her breath before slowly walking over. “Diana, you’re here.”

Diana sat down in front of Lara’s bed.

“Mom, Molly doesn’t want to treat you. What’s going to happen to you?” she asked with a caring andworried expression.

“That b*stard child. She’s such a heartless thing!” Lara snarled in response. ‘I’m her mother, after all, yetshe’s leaving me to die. I should never have given birth to her! Lara thought. “Is there another way to getMolly to treat you?”

“Why don’t I go ask her? No, but she hates me! If only I were nicer to her and did not snatch you and dadfrom her, then things probably wouldn’t have ended up this way,” Molly said with a remorsefulexpression. She took all of the blame and seemed as if she were genuinely blaming herself for beingincapable.

Lara melted when she saw her expression; she felt warm inside. Then, her expression changed.

“Sweetheart, it’s not your fault.” Diana played along and continued insinuating; it was as if she werethinking aloud in a dire situation. “If – If only there were a way to leave Molly with no choice but to treatyou,” Diana said casually.

However, such words translated into a different meaning when they fell into Lara’s ears. Her expressioninstantly brightened as if she had gotten a miracle drug. “Diana, contact the media for me. I will give thisungrateful girl no choice but to help me!” Diana pretended to be stunned and lost for a moment. She onlygot to work after Lara glared at her.

‘How stupid of her; she fell right into my trap. I was worried that she wouldn’t get what I was hinting,’Diana thought. She could not help but feel smug. Now that she had achieved her goal, she could do as

she pleases. No one could use whatever she had done to stop her. Diana used Lara’s name to contactthe media that they were familiar. Then, she started revealing news about Molly.

And so, the news about prodigy Dr. Joye not treating her birth mother and leaving her mother to diebecame a hot topic; even social media accounts that posted society news discussed her issue.
