Chapter 0612

The cold sweat on my back instantly soaked my nightgown. Upon seeing who was standing in front of me, I felt so drained that I couldn't even muster the energy to glare at Nicholas.

"What's wrong?" he asked, reaching up to touch my forehead before turning on the bedside lamp.

He grabbed a tissue and pressed it to my brow. "Why are you sweating so much?"

Why? It was all because of him!

I irritably swatted his hand away. "What are you doing here? Didn't you go to the study?"

Nicholas blinked innocently, his face appearing even more so under the dim light. "I finished up, so I came back to sleep."

"Then why are you sleeping in my room? This is where Tabitha and I sleep!"

"Where else should I sleep?"

"The study, the guest room-there are so many rooms. You could pick any room, but you shouldn't be here!"

"Why not? You get to sleep in my room, so why can't I sleep in yours?'

I couldn't even come up with a rebuttal. Coral Villa was his house. Technically, he could sleep wherever he wanted without needing my permission.

Upon seeing the displeasure on my face, Nicholas suddenly chuckled. "Alright. You win."

"Win? You think this is an argument like kids have?" I snapped.

"Aren't you acting like a kid?"

For some reason, Nicholas was being extra unreasonable tonight.

I sighed. "Fine. I won, so can you leave now? Go sleep in your own room!"

Nicholas turned off the light and pulled me toward him. He wrapped his arms tightly around me and said, "I want to hold you and sleep."

He lay on his side with his chin resting on my shoulder. As he spoke, his lips brushed against my ear, and the atmosphere suddenly became suggestive.

I shivered, the sweat from earlier still lingering. But now, I felt like I was pressed against a furnace. As my back met his chest, I realized he wasn't wearing a shirt.

I closed my eyes and tried to push him away, but I didn't know where to put my hands.

Nicholas seemed to suddenly remember something. "You used to love curling up in my arms. Didn't you like me holding you, just like this?"

As he spoke, his hair brushed lightly against my ear and sent a shiver down my spine. I leaned back, eyes wide in warning as I glared at him.

"People's preferences change. Now, please go back. I'm not comfortable leaving Tabitha alone!

"I already called Wendy when you texted me," he replied smoothly.

Frowning, I reached out to hit him but paused when I saw his bare chest. With no better option, I tugged on his hair instead as punishment.

"So, you've been waiting for me to walk right into your trap'?'

"No, I don't want to be the 'trap'."

Before I could react, he suddenly flipped me over, turning us so we were facing each other. He grabbed my wrists

and wrapped them around his waist.

In the darkness, I couldn't see his expression, but his voice was rich with affection. "I want you to be the 'trap', to catch me like this."

I pulled my hands away in panic, my mind racing with all the shameless things he'd said before.

Even my skin seemed to burn under his touch. "No..."

It was like he anticipated my movement. He held my hand firmly against his chest, not allowing me to resist. He guided my hand down from his heart to just above the waistband of his underwear.

I felt a tingling sensation in my fingers, and his breath quickened. "No? But didn't you just stare at my chest?"
