True Love -
Chapter 31
-Don’t try to look for lies because I won’t believe any of them.
-I won’t tell lies, nothing happened between us.
What a girl Megan thought, if all of her smelled like Ethan… Of course only a wolf could figure that out, and that made her think. That at some point they would have to tell that girl the truth of what they were.
-Well, I won’t ask any more questions. He said at last, picking up some dirty pots.
-I do want to know. exclaimed his sister.
-There is nothing to know. He sentenced.
The door crashed open to reveal an agitated and sweaty JB.
-Megan, I need clothes.
-What? The girl asked confused, then came to her senses. -Oh yeah, I’m coming.
-Did something happen with the albino?
-She’s fine. The young man answered dryly, he was nervous.
Megan handed him a backpack and instantly he ran off again. Something strange was going on in that town and Shery was going to replace out.
-Well, let’s finish up here, and have a nice meal.
-Yeah, sounds good to me. Eve replied.
JB returned as fast as he could with a backpack in his hands, Deysi was sitting naked on the ground looking down at the ground. Ethan had put his coat over her to cover her obvious nakedness. Neither of them said anything. After a while, the girl was dressed and standing.
-I’ll leave with my pack, excuse me.
-Deysi. Ethan calls.
-What do you want? -She answered with her back to him.
-I… I already have my mate, I know you… -Shut up, I don’t care.
-Shut up, I don’t care what you say. -I don’t care what you say. I don’t care about you.
He continued walking, not caring that inside he was dying to stick his face in that wolf’s neck just to soak in his scent. More than he already had on him. He didn’t want that, but it was what his body was asking him to do.
-“Don’t fight it, you can’t fight the feeling.”
-Forget it at once, Maura.
-It will consume you and destroy you.
-I’ve told you to forget it, I’ll never flirt with another wolf that isn’t one of my people.
-It’s stupid rules, your instincts are telling you to be his. I want him.”
-LEAVE ME ALONE! the albino shouted with tears in her eyes.
She still couldn’t believe that her mate was a Blue Moon wolf, she didn’t want that. It would be like betraying her family, her people. She would never do that to the memory of her late father. Tears still ran down her cheeks, it hurt, it hurt to be rejected. Even though she didn’t love her partner.
Two days later…
-So the albino is now a full wolf. Daren laughed loudly. -But if that’s what I’ve been waiting for, by the time she’s achieved that change, she’ll be able to sire my child. Then my plans will have to be accelerated.
The grey wolf made a sort of pitiful whimpering sound that caught Daren’s attention.
-The f*****g albino got impregnated by the Alpha wolf’s pup. Oh that’s good! What the f**k do you see in that guy? I’ll kill him.
The little grey wolf at his feet looked at him as he wagged his tail gently. All around him were many of them, some sleeping, some watching, and some, what, playing? In the end they were dogs, a pack. And best of all, among themselves they multiplied. Though Daren didn’t convert many of the females, for they were weak.
But he had to give that to his boys, or he’d have a pack of horny dogs looking for someone to take it out on. They were always watching, bringing him information of all kinds. They were obedient, and anyone who wasn’t was. Simple, he would blow their heads off and with food to the others. They wouldn’t beat around the bush to eat one of their own.
-Well, I’ve played a lot of games with you already. He said loud enough for everyone to hear.
He got up and set off for home. He would prepare his plan to get the three girls out of the place, even if he was forced to go after them himself. And so he would take the opportunity to get the head of that meddling puppy.
(…)
-Shery felt a kind of shiver run through his body. He had a feeling that something bad was about to happen, but what?
-What’s wrong with you?
-I don’t know Eve, I have a feeling something very bad is going to happen.
-What is it?
-I don’t know.
-Calm down, will you? I put my arms around her neck to calm her down.
She wouldn’t be calm, something inside her was wrong. And she had a feeling that it was because of Daren. She was sure he knew where they were, all those people were in danger because of the two of them.
-I think it’s Daren. She felt Eve tense when she heard that name.
-What are you talking about?
-I know he found us, I can feel it.
-It’s impossible. Calm down, it’s all right.
-All these people are in danger because of us, sister.
The younger one said nothing, just looked at her with regret. She knew perfectly well that she was right, anyone who helped them was in danger. And their only salvation was for them to leave that house.
-Should we leave? I asked doubtfully.
-Maybe. She answered sadly.
-You love that boy, I know. That’s why you don’t want to leave.
She didn’t answer, it was already more than obvious that she fell in love with Ethan but would they have any future? With that madman behind them, it was impossible. Her only option is to leave the country forever. Go far away from everyone.
-I’ll think about what we’re going to do, okay?
-As you wish!
That night, Shery couldn’t sleep. She was restless in bed. It was very uncomfortable. Two days without seeing Ethan, was he avoiding her? Nor could she finally give him a concrete answer. Maybe it was for the best and leave it at that. Everyone was acting strange in the house, maybe they were already bothering her.
She gave up and went out into the hallway to get a glass of milk, that would calm her down. But when she took a couple of steps she noticed someone coming out of Ethan’s room, and he was half dressed. It was the albino girl, this Deysi. She froze in place. What was going on, those two, were they in a relationship? Her heart was about to burst.
He was cheating on her, that’s why he was so absent. He wasn’t having dinner with them, nor was he looking at her when he passed her. He was seeing the albino and watching her leave his room in the early hours of the morning half-dressed confirmed it. Tears streamed down her cheeks, betrayed and deceived again, was no man serious?
She returned to the shelter of her room to cry into her pillow. She felt hands in her hair and turned to see her sister comforting her with a cute smile on her lips. She hugged her sister as she cried inconsolably.
Dawn broke, and the morning was brightly lit by the powerful sun. It wasn’t like other days when it crept in a little at a time, that day the room was brightly lit. Shery’s eyes crinkled in annoyance.
-I saw you cutie, you’d better get up.
-I’m not in the mood, I’ll stay here for the rest of the day.
-You can’t run away from it and you know it.
The night before Shery had told him everything she had seen in the hallway, and how heartbreaking it had been for his poor, fragile heart. Now how would she get out of that room without running into that boy who broke her heart. She was not meant to be loved.
-I don’t care, I’m not going out. She snuggled into the blankets, even if she was dying from the heat.
-Shery, you’re being childish. It’s his loss, you’re beautiful inside and out. Someone else will come along who knows how to appreciate you.
-He’s so cute, but so stupid! He replied to his sister.
-I know. I thought he was a nice guy, you know? I thought he was different, well, except for that time he showed up naked in front of us, that was weird! I thought at first he was a crazy pervert. But then I liked him, until last night.
-I don’t want to talk about him anymore please.
-That’s fine! His sister replied with an exaggerated sigh.
She uncovered herself with the blanket, and looked at her sister who was still standing in front of her bed. She wouldn’t rest until she got her a*s out of bed. With a broken soul and a broken heart, she got up to take a shower.
After a while the sisters were about to leave when someone knocked on the door, they looked at each other and Eve went to open it.
-Ethan! she said surprised.
-Good morning…! Breakfast is ready, why haven’t they come downstairs? Is something wrong?
From the bathroom door frame Shery could hear Ethan’s voice, her heart was pounding a mile a minute, he was a hard face, just showing up in her room like that. He didn’t have the slightest feeling.
-Yeah, we were just on our way down. The girl replied dryly, Ethan frowned at her reply. But he ignored it.
-Shery, is she here?
-Yes,” she said, peeking out the door herself as she walked out the side of the young man, notoriously taken aback by his indifference.
I knew, maybe she was upset since the last few days he had been so busy with work. Not to mention that albino puppy that had him mad. Every time she transformed she went crazy looking for him. He had to get away so the girl could go inside with her father to calm her hormones.
