True Love -
(Book 2) – Chapter 75
− Then we’re not going to get anywhere Jack.
− I can’t promise you anything else for now Megan.
− So we’ve already finished this conversation, don’t you think?
− Well Megan Blake, we have finished this conversation. She told him very upset.
She stormed out of her office while she swore that it would be the last time she would sleep with him. She collapsed crying on her couch with her hands on her face, lamenting that he didn’t realize what they both could have had.
[…]− Everything is ready Grisell, don’t worry, everything will be fine, I prepared a room for you downstairs, you didn’t want the one upstairs. Melisa told her.
− It doesn’t matter, I don’t want him to be uncomfortable, he must be arriving now. I’m very anxious. Grisell told him.
− Yes, me too, it’s been four months since we haven’t seen her.
− Oh! It’s Rodrigo’s truck, come on Melisa run!
Both women rushed out to receive them with open arms and big smiles on their lips.
− Megan my girl, you are beautiful.
− Grandma, I missed you so much, I missed you so much. They hugged each other tightly, drenched in tears. –Mel, you have taken good care of my grandmother, thank you. The friends hugged each other too, it was a very emotional reception from their family.
− Well, let’s go in and have a drink.
Rodrigo took a small bag from the car and entered with them.
− Where do I leave my bag? I have to go to work.
− Next to my room darling. Melisa told him.
− And how long will you stay a girl?
− About four days grandma, I’m sorry I can’t stay longer.
− It’s such a short time, four months have passed and you will only stay four days!
− Yes, grandma, I’m sorry, I have a lot of things to do at home, I sold my parents’ house and I’m planning to remodel the other house I bought, I also need to sell many things from the previous house.
− How is your Megan? Her friend asked her, looking at her belly.
− I’m fine Melisa, everything is very good. She knew very well why her friend was asking, but they would talk about that later with her. – And the owner of this house?
− Well Jack is very sulky, a month ago he went on a business trip and arrived worse than before, and when he found out you were coming he left very early in his car and these are the hours that he hasn’t returned.
So he had said that his trip had been for business, no one knew that he had gone to see her. That confirmed what she believed, that he was not looking for anything serious with her, if that were not the case, he would have commented that he would go to Atlanta to see her. It disappointed her deeply to know that she was right about that.
− I guess she doesn’t want to bump into me and make me uncomfortable.
− We think so. Both women said in unison.
− How condescending!
− It’s better this way my girl, her mood is not the best.
They talked for a long time, but the trip was affecting Megan and, being almost five months pregnant, she was easily exhausted. She had worn loose dresses so that her belly wouldn’t be noticeable. Although she was not very noticeable, she did wear tight clothing if she ran the risk of being noticed. In her room, already in bed, her friend Melisa entered without knocking, closing the door behind her.
− And how is the baby doing well?
− Okay. She told him laughing. – Do you want to know the s*x?
− Of course I want to, what question is that.
− He is male!
− Oh Megan, how wonderful, congratulations! But the next time you come you will be older, what will you tell grandma?
− I don’t think there will be a next time Mel, I haven’t been able to take another trip for almost five months.
− Oh Megan! Grisell will be very sad, for missing the birth of her great-grandson and for spending so many months without seeing you.
− Well, maybe both of them will keep me company for the week of delivery.
− Of course it is also an option! –And what about Jack?
− Well, he doesn’t have to know anything about this.
− Megan has missed almost five months of her baby.
− We have already talked about this.
− Yes, well, I’m sorry.
The friends caught up on everything that happened in Atlanta, until Megan told her that she was dead from sleep and her friend let her rest. The next morning Megan got up, got ready and went outside. As usual, her grandmother had breakfast ready for her and to tell the truth she was starving.
− Good morning everyone. She said.
− I think you have become very lazy girl. Her grandmother told him.
− Are there only three of us at home? I ask cautiously.
− Yes, don’t worry, Jack left after about an hour. I think he lost a few kilos because he didn’t have breakfast and yesterday he didn’t have lunch, when I left the kitchen at night he hadn’t arrived yet.
− I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable with my presence, Grandma, I should stay at an inn or something like that. He can’t be starving just because he doesn’t want to run into me.
− Leave him still, he won’t die of hunger. There is always a place to eat.
− Well, tell him that the day after tomorrow I’m leaving, that way he’ll be calmer.
− If that’s what you want, what will you do today? You should go horseback riding with Melisa and Rodrigo.
− Hmm… No grandma, maybe we’ll go for a walk, right Mel.
− Yes, we will walk around.
− In that case, why don’t you take her to the small stream that Rodrigo took you to see.
− Oh yes true! You’re going to love Megan, almost no one goes. We can take a bath.
− That sounds good, I like that idea.
− Then have breakfast and I will prepare a basket with sandwiches for you to take.
After a magnificent breakfast, the friends left for the stream that was not far from the ranch. They both walked very slowly while their topics of conversation were focused on the new life that Megan intended to have in Atlanta. Melisa also told her about her progress with Rodrigo. Finally, after a while of walking, they had reached the stream, it was clean and fresh.
− This place is fabulous. Why didn’t Rodrigo bring us here when we stayed a whole month?
− Well, I think your foot was a big problem.
− Yes but after that.
− You always rejected our invitations!
− Well I wanted to give them privacy.
− How silly, we invited you because we knew you were alone at home when I was leaving with Rodrigo.
− Well since. I’m here, so let’s get into it already. Are you sure no one comes here?
− Safe. At this time, everyone is working, plus I want to see your belly.
Megan took off her dress and put on a long loose blouse that reached her thighs, they got into the water and this one was perfect. They sat down and began to chat happily, until Melisa jumped up.
− Good heavens Megan… Putting a hand to her forehead.
− What’s wrong with you?
− I had to deliver some washed and ironed clothes to Jack, she told me that he needed them for tonight.
Oh my God! I have left them soaking.
− Oh MeL! but hey, go ahead and move on. I know the way back, if you go at my pace you won’t get there quickly.
− I can’t leave you alone.
− I’m not a girl Mel, I’ll be fine, I’ll go after you just slower.
− Okay, just follow the path and that’s it.
She saw how her friend hurried along the road back to the ranch, while she began to take her clothes to get dressed and start the journey, things had changed a lot, Melisa had a lot of work now which reminded her of what she had told her. her friend, Jack was going out that night, most likely on a date, jealousy swirled inside her at the thought that he would give another woman what he had denied her.
− What are you doing here alone? Now she was in serious trouble, what was Jack doing there. When she got out of the water, her blouse would stick to her body and her pregnancy would be noticeable.
− I was leaving. He was behind her so he couldn’t see him.
− I don’t see that you really want to go out.
− I’m leaving now, when you leave!
− I will not leave here leaving you alone.
− Melisa told me that it was not dangerous, and we are on your land.
− And it is not, no one passes through here without my knowledge.
− Then you don’t need to stay.
− But I will do it! She told him in an arrogant tone.
