After Tristan left, Daphne's miserable cries echoed throughout the room.

Those men only left after some time, and Daphne was injured so badly that she collapsed into a pool of blood.

Her gaze was empty, and she was upset. She didn't understand why Yvette had received all the good things in life and why she couldn't replace Yvette to get some credit. Since she was hurt badly, she had no choice but to lay on the ground and stay there. Tristan's men didn't kill her on purpose so that she would suffer in pain.

That day, she was in agony. After an uncertain amount of time, the door was opened again right when she was about to pass out.

She instinctively begged, "I'm sorry. I was wrong..."

A man approached her in his shiny leather shoes. Daphne got on all fours and bowed to him. She didn't dare to look at him at all. "I won't do it again, Tris. I'll apologize to you now." "Daphne, it's me." When the man spoke in front of her, he sounded familiar to her.

She stopped what she was doing and looked up. "Xav? Aren't you..." Before she could say the word "blind", the man spoke again.

"I'm Jeremiah, not Xavier. We've met before." Back then, she had thought that he was Xavier.

Then, Daphne finally noticed that Jeremiah didn't feel like Xavier at all. "Are you Xav's twin brother?"

"Yeah."

"What do you want from me?" She was worried that he was there to punish her for Yvette too.

"Would you like to make a deal?" he asked gently. However, Daphne was instinctively afraid of him. She had a feeling that he was hiding something under his gentle gaze.

"What kind of deal?" After Tristan targeted her and brought her to a place like this, she thought no deal would be worse than this.

"If you help me get Yvette to leave Xavier, I'll save you," Jeremiah stated his intention right away.

Although she didn't understand why he would want something like that, she agreed to it immediately when she heard that he could save her.

"Sure. I'll definitely make her leave Xavier. Please save me now."

After she said that, a group of men brought her out of the asylum. When Jeremiah left, the men asked, "What shall we say when Tristan asks about it?"

He looked back at the asylum and said without a care, "Burn this place down. Then, you don't have to worry about it anymore."

The men were stunned. They couldn't believe the gentle-looking Jeremiah would say something like that.

"Understood." They didn't dare to disobey him at all.

That night, news of the asylum on fire was reported, and there were three people who got hurt. Tristan hadn't expected Daphne to be the only one who had died. He was furious to replace out that she had died that easily.

Meanwhile, Shannon approached Yvette while the latter was helping to prepare the flowers for the

engagement. "Since you said the child in your belly isn't Xav's, that

means it's Claude's, right?"

Yvette frowned. Before she could say anything, Shannon added, "Isn't Claude worried at all when you're living with Xavier and even came back here with his child?"

Of course, Yvette knew Shannon was trying to get the truth out of her, and she didn't answer the questions directly.

"If you don't believe the child isn't Xavier's, you can get a DNA test for the child after I've given birth."

Shannon started doubting her hunch

when she heard that Yvette was

willing to have a DNA test. She

snapped a fresh rose and coldly said, "If the child isn't Xav's, I never let them into the Lane family."
