Chapter 730

Hera was exceptionally calm when she saw Linda's current state. Her lips curled into a cold grin.

Linda swept her glance across the courtroom and didn't see people from her side of the family. Not only was she not disheartened, but she was a little excited.

That was because Desmond had swung by to pass on a message to Linda yesterday. He told her not to be afraid because he had arranged some mercenaries, and they were going to rescue her near the execution ground.

Afterward, Linda just had to sneak away and escape to Miridian. The police wouldn't be able to do anything to her as long as she didn't return to Jadonia.

Linda swept her glance across the courtroom again. The excitement in her heart was immediately snuffed out when she didn't see Rhett or Frederick.

"Where's Freddy? You lied to me, Nathan! You said I could see Freddy!" Linda struggled. She wanted to go over to Nathan and argue with him, but the police officers took her away to the dock and locked her up.

At the same time, the judge hit the gavel and said sternly, "Order in the court!"

Linda saw that Nathan was disregarding her, so she shifted her gaze to Hera. Her gaze was so vicious as if she couldn't wait to grind her bones to dust.

Chad would have had to step down in two more years. Then, Frederick would've become the head of the Killian family. When that happened, she'd effectively become the ruler of the family.

Every last person in the Killian family as well as the married ladies in the entire Jedburgh would have to bow down to Linda's wishes.

However, something wrong happened at this very juncture. Linda had carried out every step of her plan flawlessly. So, how did someone unveil the truth in the end?

Linda had been smart her whole life, but all of her efforts were squandered because of Hera.

In the end, Linda would have to hide away in Miridian as a refugee. She couldn't even return to Jadonia for the rest of her life. What was worse, her social network, resources, and status in Jedburgh would become entirely meaningless.

Linda hated Hera with every fiber of her being. "You haven't seen the last of me, Hera! Just wait and see. Someone's going to kill you on my behalf!" Linda gritted her teeth and threatened her.

"Oh, I appreciate the heads-up," Hera responded dryly. Then, she looked at Nathan. Linda's threatening me. I'm scared. Does this count as intimidation?"

Nathan was at a loss for words. Linda was about to be sentenced to death. There was no

point in adding intimidation to her list of crimes. More to the point, Hera didn't look intimidated anyway.

"You should look more convincing in your acting, Hera. You have to seem more scared at least," Samantha couldn't help but whisper to Hera.

Meanwhile, the judge was wondering if they honestly thought he wasn't watching.

"Heh, keep acting cocky while you still can. You're going to die in several minutes." Linda cackled menacingly. "Don't worry. If I do die first, I'll come back as a vengeful spirit and kill you in the middle of the night!"

What was more, Linda was going to live longer than Hera.

"The court is in session. Order in the court!" At that moment, the judge's associate

reminded them once more.

"On August 27th, 2010, the accused, Linda Atkins, bribed and instigated someone to murder Daphne Jones. It has severely impacted..." The judge proceeded to read out every crime Linda had committed. It took him 15 minutes to finish reading it.

Linda was also very cooperative and admitted every single charge. By the end of it, the judge struck the gavel and declared, "In light of the aforementioned charges, I hereby sentence Linda Atkins to death. The execution shall be carried out immediately!"

The reporters kept taking photos while Linda lowered her head, seemingly regretting her crimes. In fact, there wasn't a hint of regret on her face. There was even a hint of humor in her eyes.

Linda was waiting for the police officers to take her to the execution ground.

"Daphne can finally rest in peace, Herie." Catherine gripped Hera's hand tightly, tears streaming down her cheeks uncontrollably.

"Yeah." Hera held Catherine with one hand and comforted her.

"Wasn't Linda quite arrogant a minute ago? She didn't waste any time admitting her crimes, though. I'm not sure if I'm overthinking it, but I can't shake the feeling that there's

something wrong with her," Samantha suddenly said.

Hera had also noticed something weird with Linda a long time ago. It was just that she

didn't care about it. She said firmly, "She won't be able to get away!"

"I guess you're right. There's no way she can escape this time. Daphne would feel relieved if she could see this," Samantha said as she rose to her feet. "Let's go. I want to go to the

execution ground and see her executed with my own eyes!"

When Linda was taken away to the execution ground, she turned around and glanced at Hera. She gave her a taunting look, even mouthing the word "goodbye" to Hera. Hera didn't say anything. She merely grinned at Linda.
