Under the Veil I Rule
Chapter 111

"I don't agree!" she exclaimed. "Whispers of Winter is a show I created on my own. I deserve to be the head screenwriter. How can you just fire me?"

Whispers of Winter was the result of a team effort. Amara understood that people like Mr. Zade and the producers had invested a lot more than she had. But it was her brainchild from the start. To her, Whispers of Winter was like her own child. How could they just replace her?

She couldn't accept it! Amara had been mad many times in her life, but nothing compared to the fury she felt now.

Now she understood why Liliana had gone so far as to spread rumors, even risking her own unborn child in the process. She must have been waiting for this moment.

Once Amara was out of the picture, Liliana wouldn't have to see her every day on set, and neither would Finnian. That must have been Liliana's plan all along.

Liliana clutched Finnian's sleeve, pleading, "Finn, I'm really scared. Could you replace Ms. Sullivan?"

Finnian's eyes darkened, his face expressionless. "I'll think about it," he said.

Amara's mind exploded. He actually had to think about it? Did Finnian really want to replace her?

She glared at Finnian intensely, nearly hating him in that moment.

"Uh, maybe we should step outside. Mr. Everly said he'd consider it, right? So let's give him some time," Cedric suggested cautiously, trying to lead everyone out. He'd never expected the escalation of the incident.

"Wait! Don't leave!" Amara addressed through gritted teeth as she stopped Cedric.

If Cedric and the others left, the narrative would be set. Everyone would remember the incident as her forcing Liliana into water, and no one would speak up for her.

She blocked the door, pointing at Liliana and stated, "You're absolutely lying. Why are you doing this to me? Are you afraid I'll stop Finnian from

divorcing? That's ridiculous. Did

forget Dalready signed a statement? If you don't trust it, keep it on you and remind me every second. What's the point of all these schemes?"

Amara was furious, beyond reason. She knew she should calm down, that shouting wouldn't help her case. And she had just blurted out things like "stop from divorcing" and “statement” that no one else should have heard. She was beyond caring about dignity now.

Maybe everyone in the crew would soon know about the statement she had with Finnian and the messy triangle with Liliana, turning her into a laughingstock.

But she didn't care anymore! "Let them laugh," she thought. Her reputation was already in shambles; she had nothing left to lose.

What mattered most now was clearing her name. She refused to be wrongfully accused, to carry a burden that wasn't hers to bear.

Moreover, she couldn't leave the show! Whispers of Winter was her creation, and she hadn't done anything wrong as a screenwriter. Why should she leave?

She stood firm at the door, her eyes blazing with anger as she stared down everyone in the room.

She was usually so gentle and quiet; it was the first time she lashed out, and it scared everyone.

"Ama, calm down."

Cedric was alarmed. Despite her still being Finnian's wife in name, he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, trying to soothe her. "We

can work this out. Don't be upset, just take a moment to breathe."
