Under the Veil I Rule -
Chapter 147
"Ms. Moon, please calm down. Mr. Everly is currently entertaining guests. Ms. Moon, please wait just a moment."
With a bang, the door to the lounge swung open. Elysia, dressed in a sharp little blazer, stood at the entrance with an air of authority, her gaze icy as she surveyed the room.
Beside her, Will, who was half a head taller, looked as if he might burst into tears any second. He glanced helplessly at Finnian.
Dorian sprang to his feet. "Elysia, what are you doing here?"
Elysia gave him a cursory glance before her eyes landed on Jessica, who was nestled close to Dorian with an expression of feigned innocence.
The last time Elysia had gone to the pub to replace Finnian, Dorian and Jessica had been there too. And here they were again. It seemed Dorian and Jessica were more inseparable than she had thought; who knew how many times they had been together when she wasn't around to see it?
Given the situation, Elysia ought to have been furious or heartbroken. But perhaps she had seen it too many times-her heart was numb.
Ignoring Dorian's words, she strode over to Finnian and demanded, "Why won't you divorce Ama? What's the point of stringing her along like this?"
Dorian's face was a picture of astonishment, but he remained silent.
Finnian rose with deliberate calmness, replying, "Ms. Moon, this is between Amara and me. It has nothing to do with you. And besides, this is my private space. Outsiders are not permitted. Please leave."
"I don't want to hear those excuses. I'm here to settle accounts for Ama!" Elysia retorted, her voice rising in anger.
"Do you really think Ama cheated on you, and that's why you won't divorce her? Even if she did, so what? You have Liliana, don't you? Why don't you go cuddle up to her instead?
Ama's presence is only complicating things between you and Liliana. Just let Ama go! If you keep dragging this out, Diliana will be the one who ends up hurt!"
Though Elysia was there to confront Finnian, she knew shouting would solve
nothing. So she deftly redirected the issue towards Liliana.
Everyone knew Finnian's affection for Liliana. Surely, he couldn't continue to delay divorcing Amara and ask upsetting Liliana, she speculated.
Finnian's expression didn't change a bit. He replied, "My matters with Liliana are
none of your concern either, Ms. Moon. Know your place."
He was as unyielding as a rock, and Elysia was at a loss for words.
"Fine, I'm leaving right now. But don't forget what I said. Holding onto Amara is affecting your relationship with Liliana."
Elysia was nothing if not straightforward. Having said her piece, she turned and left.
For someone sharp as Finnian, the reason why he stalled the divorce process was merely because of his frustration. Once he was settled down, he'd realize it was meaningless to venting his
exasperation on Amara oven vel
sacrificing his happiness with Liliana. By the time, he would approve of the divorce.
Elysia walked away without a backward glance, as if she'd forgotten there were
other people in the room, one of whom was her own boyfriend.
Dorian watched her retreating figure in disbelief, stunned at how Elysia had simply brushed him aside.
"Jessica, why don't you go outside?" Dorian said. "Wait for me there."
"Alright."
