Liliana's gaze flickered maliciously for a moment before she made up her mind.

She couldn't take it any longer! Leaning in close to Finnian, she whispered, "Finn, I don't want you to defend Amara anymore. Can you do that for me?"

Then she added, "You've been acting strange around Amara lately."

Her words hit Finnian like a bolt of lightning.

He knew he'd been behaving differently around Amara. He had tried to convince himself it was just his imagination, but if even Liliana noticed, did he harbor something else towards Amara? No way!

Liliana's soft hand grasped his wrist, and she moved even closer. Her voice was gentle. "Finn, I never wanted to bring this up, but I just can't hold back anymore.

You've been giving Amara special attention recently, and it scares me. I'm worried about our life changing, and I don't want our baby to suffer. Can you promise that you won't let that happen for the sake of me and the baby?"

Finnian's body slightly tensed, his eyes dark with an emotional storm.

His relationship with Amara was purely transactional, just business. There shouldn't be any emotions or complications, and Liliana was right to ask for this.

Things had been chaotic lately, and he'd let himself get swept up in it. It was time to rein it in. Finnian closed his eyes shortly, repeating Liliana's words to himself over and over, forcing them into his mind.

A few seconds later, he finally looked up, his eyes turning cold and indifferent, as if nothing mattered anymore.

It was a subtle change, but Finnian had a way of drawing attention wherever he went. His presence was commanding, and everyone noticed the shift.

Liliana gently curled her lips upward, wrapping her arm around Finnian's and resting her head on his shoulder, casting a victorious glance at Amara.

Amara's eyes widened, trembling as she watched the scene.

Even though Finnian and Liliana had never hidden their relationship, it was the first time Liliana had openly challenged her like this. It felt like being plunged into icy water leaving her cold to the bone.

"Ms. Sullivan, Ms. Moon," Liliana moved her rosy lips.

"I'm carrying Finn's child. Whether we

make this public or not is our net

decision, and it's not for anyone else to judge. I hope you both recognize that."

Finnian didn't contradict her. He remained silent and let Liliana lean against him, his expression detached. Though he said nothing, Amara felt as if he had suddenly become unreachable, as if he existed in a different world entirely.

This realization chilled Amara to the core. She wasn't sure if it was sadness or something else, but she felt numb with cold, almost disturbingly so.

Amara squeezed Elysia's hand, and Elysia immediately sensed her trembling. "Ama, do you feel unwell?" she asked softly.

"I'm fine. Let's just go."

The two of them left the room, and this time, no one stopped them. Once outside, they climbed into Elysia's

car.

Elysia quickly took off Amara's

mask, revealing how pale she had become, her lips almost colorless. Elysia's anger towards Finnian and the others flared up again

"Those people are all jerks! No wonder they hang out together; not one of them is decent!"

Amara closed her eyes, resting against Elysia's shoulder.

"Yeah, they're all terrible."
