Ivy snorted. "Tiffany used to sit here. But now..."

"Has she been fired?" Brianna pretended to look stunned and sad, but she was secretly pleased.

After all, her plan had been to take everything from Tiffany upon joining Lewis Group so she could get Tiffany kicked out.

But it turned out Tiffany had been fired before Brianna had even made her move. It was too bad she hadn't been around to see Tiffany getting kicked out after making a mess of things.

"She hasn't been fired. On the contrary, she's been promoted," Ivy muttered.

"W-What? Promoted?" Brianna was taken aback.

"Look there." Ivy pointed her jaw at the CEO's office. "It happened just yesterday. She already has a desk in Mr. Lewis' room. She's the only person in the department with permission to do that. Your friend has plenty of tricks up her sleeve." Brianna found this hard to believe. "Does Mr. Lewis think that highly of her?"

Ivy smiled scornfully. "Who knows? Whatever it is, she's his blue-eyed woman now. Since you're her friend, you might benefit from it, too."

"I don't want anything of the sort." Brianna put on a righteous look, but she was actually green with envy.

"Tiffany and I are no longer friends, Ivy. There's no way we'll patch things up. I actually think my personality's a lot like yours. If there's anything you ever need me to do, just say the word. I'll give it my all."

Ivy smiled. "Alright, then." She wasn't in the best of moods; it would be a waste to let a bootlicker who could stroke her ego go.

Brianna tidied her workstation before placing her employee ID badge on the desk.

Then, she took a photo of it and shared it on her Instagram. "Just got a job! Everyone says getting into Lewis Group's executive department is hard, but I thought it was pretty easy."

She added a smiley face at the end of the sentence before posting the photo. Soon, there was a flurry of likes and comments beneath it.

"Whoa, did you get into Lewis Group's executive department?"

"Damn. I knew you could do it!"

"God, how did you get in? Are they still hiring? Could you help me get a job there?"

The brown-nosing comments stroked Brianna's ego. She sent the photo to William.

He called her and asked, "Did you get into Lewis Group?"

"Yeah." She fiddled with her employee ID badge. "You must be happy for me, too, right?"

He didn't respond to that. Instead, he said, "As long as you're happy."

Brianna sensed something amiss with his tone. "What's wrong? Are you upset that I've gotten a job here?" "No."

"Then, why do I feel like you sound bitter?"

William said, "Because I didn't expect you to get a job there. And that too in the executive department."

"That just shows what I'm capable

of. Oh, right. Tiffany's in this department, too." Brianna

deliberately brought Tiffany up. She wanted to see how William would react.

"Oh," he said. He didn't ask her anything.

Only then did Brianna relax. She hung up and raised her head to see Tiffany leave Vincent's office. Tiffany didn't see her, though. She headed to the restroom. Brianna looked around. She got up and hurried after Tiffany when she didn't see anyone paying attention to her.

When Tiffany came out of the

cubicle, she saw Brianna standing by the sink. She was taken aback for a moment, but ignored the latter and turned to leave. She didn't want to engage with Briana. Ebookex

"Tiff!" Brianna said in surprise. "It really is you! What a coincidence!" Tiffany glanced at her. "Is it really?"

She wasn't the least bit surprised to see Brianna in Lewis Group. Brianna had never concealed her

ambition Tiffany had already guessed she would try her best to get into Lewis Group's executive department after running into her the other day. She hadn't expected it to happen so soon, though.
