Chapter 478 How Dare You!

Garry pushed Finley to indicate him to chase after Thalia.

When Finley reached the garage, Thalia was about to drive away.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you afraid of annoying your superior?"

"You are angry, aren't you?"

Finley's voice was serious, and Thalia was lost for words for a moment.

Seeing that he had even brought the lunchbox just now, Thalia suddenly changed her expression.

"Did you mean to return it to me?"

Finley replied, "No, don't get me wrong. I don't want to irritate you."

Thalia let out a sigh and cursed Finley in her heart.

She got out of the car and went to the passenger seat.

"Drive. I haven't had food yet. Let's go grab something to eat," Thalia said directly.

Finley had gotten into the car.

"What do you want to eat?"

"It's your call." Thalia was not in high spirits.

Finley drove to the restaurant she often went to.

Since the restaurant was not far away from where Alexa worked, Thalia

called Alexa and invited her over.

Finley could tell Thalia's feelings. So, he remained silent to avoid bothering her.

Just as Alexa and Terrence arrived at the restaurant, they could tell that Finley and Thalia had quarreled.

Thalia did not say anything about her or Finley. She chatted with Alexa as if nothing had happened.

Not long after, Thalia and Alexa went to the bathroom together.

Terrence glanced at Finley.

He asked, "It hasn't been resolved yet?"

Finley replied flatly, "It's a little troublesome. Her family is involved."

"Did her parents go back on their word?"

Terrence had heard about James and Elena.

It was because they often broke their promises that their company had a bad reputation.

"Her parents have talked to me a few times. They said that Thalia deserves a better man and wished me to take the initiative to cancel the engagement," said Finley.

"You can't listen to them."

Although Finley was a great doctor, he sometimes was aloof and didn't know how to express his feelings.

Terrence added, "At least, you have to tell Thalia that you care about her. Her parents are greedy and want to trade her for money. You have to show your attitude."

"I see."

Finley took a sip of red wine, seeming to consider Terrence's words.

Just then, Alexa and Thalia returned.

Alexa and Terrence exchanged looks.

As they started to have the meal, the atmosphere was obviously much better.

Although Thalia was still indifferent to Finley, she stopped speaking ironically to him.

After lunch, Alexa and Terrence left.

"Are you going back to the hospital or..."

"I'll send you back to the company."

"Okay."

Finley held her hand without hesitation.

He pulled her much closer to him.

"I've thought it through. I won't stop you from going abroad again,"

Thalia said slowly.

"Let's not talk about this anymore."

Finley paid attention to her emotions, fearing that Thalia would get

angry.

However, she looked calm.

"If you insist on going, I will go with you."

Finley rested his hands on the steering wheel and didn't drive.

"What about you? Thalia, will you be happy?"

"What do you mean?"

"You're supporting me. Then, what about your dream?" Finley asked seriously.

"I don't have any great dreams. As long as I can make money, it's fine."

Thalia shrugged and said casually.

"I can run a bar abroad. Anyway, I can do everything."

"What if you regret it one day? What if you realize that you made the

wrong decision one day?"

Finley looked at her calmly.

"I am not as good as you think."

"Finley, no matter what will happen, I can accept it. Moreover, I believe

you," Thalia replied with a smile.

Finley's eyes suddenly lit up and were full of affection.

"So, the only thing you need to do is to believe in me."

Thalia poked him on the chest with her index finger.

"Don't listen to my parents' nonsense."

"When did you know that?"

Thalia wore a gloomy face. "I knew it from Alexa. If she didn't tell me, you

would hide it from me forever. Is that so?"

Finley didn't say anything.

His cautious look made Thalia feel bitter.

"I'm not angry anymore."

"Really?"

She nodded. "Yes. I don't want your colleagues to view me as a bad-

tempered woman."

"All of them know that you are a good woman."

Finley's eyes were filled with love.

As soon as he and Thalia reached Thalia's office, they drew a lot of

attention.

Thalia used to be serious in the company. It was rare for her to keep

smiling. All the others in the company could see that she was in a good

mood.

"Ms. Crompton, Mr. Wilder is waiting for you in the reception room," Thalia's assistant said.

Hearing this, Thalia subconsciously looked back at Finley.

"How about you go to my office and wait for me?"

Finley's eyes dimmed. Then, he threw his arm around Thalia's waist

possessively.

"I'll go with you."

The assistant, who stood beside them, was secretly surprised.

Thalia didn't refuse Finley and put on a smile.

The proud smile on Chuck's face suddenly froze when he saw Finley.

"This is Chuck Wilder, the president of the Wilder Group. This is Finley,

my fiancé," Thalia briefly introduced them to each other.

"Nice to meet you."

Chuck said in a flat voice, pretending to be a gentleman. Thalia adjusted her sleeves and revealed the engagement ring on her left

hand.

"Have you been waiting here for a long time? What brings you here?"

Thalia smiled politely.

"Your mother was worried about you, so she asked me to come to see

you."

As Chuck spoke, he glanced at Finley several times.

He hated lofty men like Finley the most.

"Finley is with me. No one dares to bully me. You worry too much,"

Thalia found it funny and said.

"I don't think so. You are too innocent. Don't you agree with me, Mr. McMillan?" Chuck asked Finley with a half-smile.

"Thalia is my fiancée. I can take good care of her. You don't need to worry

about her."

"Thalia and I are friends. We have known each other since childhood."

"We haven't contacted each other for a long time. Actually, I'm not that

familiar with you," Thalia replied without changing her expression. Chuck was a little embarrassed, but he kept it from Finley.

"I heard that Dr. McMillan works in Lenox Hill Hospital. Is there other business in his family?"

"Chuck, what makes you care so much about my fiancé?"

Chuck replied, "You are mistaken. I know he is your fiancé. That's why I

want to know more about him. You don't know men well. I'm afraid that

you will be deceived by hypocritical men." Thalia rolled her eyes.

She wanted to leave with Finley, but the latter sat motionlessly. "Mr. Wilder, I agree with what you said. Thalia indeed shouldn't get in

close with men like you."

Thalia was shocked at Finley's direct words.

Finley said with a cold smile, "You claim to be Thalia's friend, don't you?

Then, you'd better behave like a friend and not speak nonsense to destroy her peaceful life. Do you understand?"

"You can't help her in business. You'd better leave her as soon as possible." Chuck felt himself being above Finley.

With a snort, Chuck continued, "How much is your salary? You can't even provide Thalia with a wealthy life. How dare you compete with me!"
