Chapter 477 Go and Coax Her

"Why are you at their place?" Thalia questioned unhappily.

"They invited me here, saying that they wanted to discuss business with me."

Chuck sounded innocent.

Thalia was even more furious. She immediately drove back.

James and Elena's place was ceremoniously furnished.

Obviously, James and Elena cared about Chuck a lot.

When Thalia entered, Chuck was chatting happily with Elena.

"Thalia, you're back! Come and chat with Chuck. I'll go to the kitchen to take a look." Elena was very happy.

Thalia curled her lips with a cold face.

She sat down at the edge of the sofa, sizing up Chuck with vigilance and alienation.

"What are you up to?"

"Why are you so hostile to me? I didn't do anything, did I?" Chuck smiled.

Thalia didn't reply. She didn't want to talk to him at all.

"I heard that you have a boyfriend."

"A fiancé," Thalia corrected him seriously.

"I see."

Chuck did not seem to care at all.

"I heard that he is just a doctor. And there is something about his background," he said righteously. "Even though he has some connections with Christina, he has no actual inheritance right." Thalia glanced at him with a cold expression.

Chuck said coolly.

"He won't be much of a help to you. Break up with him."

"Are you nuts?"

Thalia rolled her eyes and said in an unfriendly tone. Elena happened to come out of the kitchen and saw Thalia, so she hastily called Thalia away.

"What did you mean out there? How could you talk to Chuck like that?" Elena said with a sullen face.

"What is it? Have you settled the price? How much am I worth this time?" Thalia sneered.

"Chuck is very talented in business, and he wants to be nice to you. You are already twenty-five years old this year."

"So?"

"What's so good about that doctor? So what if you like him? How is that going to help you? Besides, I don't see anything good in his personality. You're made for business. He can't be of help," Elena said with disappointment and anxiety.

Thalia had been quarreling with Finley recently.

However, she was still very unhappy with Elena's words.

"I know better than anyone whether he can help me or not."

Seeing that Thalia was unwilling to cooperate, Elena was so angry that her face turned livid.

"I saw you guys laughing happily at the engagement party before."

"You'll be a sinner if you ruin the Crompton family's business. Don't be

so selfish. Think more about the family."

"Then I'll give it back to you."

Thalia shrugged indifferently.

"Let the lawyer prepare the materials tomorrow, and I will sign it. I don't

want to be in charge of the company anyway."

"Even so, you are not allowed to marry Finley!"

James and Elena had always been concerned about this.

They hadn't met Finley many times, but he didn't leave a good overall impression on them.

Finley was an aloof man, and he had no intention of being a businessman.

On the contrary, Chuck's father was James' friend, and Chuck's family background was less complicated.

The Wilder family and the Crompton family went way back, and for James and Elena, Chuck was much easier to control than Finley. Thalia left without even eating.

Elena chased after her downstairs, pulling Chuck's sleeve and crying.

"I don't know how that doctor bewitched her. She doesn't even listen to

me anymore."

"Mrs. Crompton, don't worry. I'll go and take a look."

"OK."

Thalia was about to drive away when she saw Chuck chasing after her.

"Mrs. Crompton is very sad. Are you really going to leave?"

"Chuck, I'll be blunt with you. I will never break up with Finley. Don't get involved," she said straightforwardly.

"My father is friends with James. Besides, we met a few times when we

were young. Also, after I came back this time, I have already turned a few

blind dates down," Chuck said calmly.

"None of this means anything. I have no feelings for you."

There was no smile on Thalia's face.

"Besides, you don't respect me at all. You know that I have a fiancé, yet

you still get involved no matter what."

lidn't know before."

"Then you were tricked by my parents. I suggest you leave now."

As soon as Thalia finished speaking, she drove away.

It was time to eat.

Thalia drove around the street several times, thought about it, and still

went to the restaurant to order a takeout and bring it to the hospital. Finley was not in the office when she arrived.

She put the food on the desk and happened to see the notice on it,

appointing Finley to go on a business trip.

He hadn't signed yet.

When Finley pushed the door open and entered, Thalia was still staring at

the paper in a trance.

He took off his white coat and walked quietly to his desk.

"What are you looking at?"

"Are you going to go abroad? For three years?" Thalia asked without

raising her head.

"There is a research project in a foreign research institute that is in line with my direction. The dean wants me to give it a go," Finley said in a flat

tone.

"What do you think?"

When Thalia put down the notice, her voice was trembling slightly.

"We are in the middle of a fight. Are you going to leave just like that?"

"No."

Finley wanted to step forward and grab her hand, but she dodged.

"I haven't signed it yet."

"So, you want to?" Thalia looked at him. "Are you asking for my opinion?

Or are you just informing me?"

"Of course, I want to know your opinion."

"What if I say you may go?"

A trace of astonishment flashed across Finley's eyes.

"It will be three years, Finley."

She spoke in a low voice, her eyes already red.

"Three years is not short."

Thalia clearly sounded unwilling.

"I won't go." Finley took the piece of paper and tore it off right in front of her.

"I wasn't being sarcastic."

Thalia sighed, not knowing what she should be feeling right now.

"You can go if you want, but you must take me with you."

"What about your company?"

"I don't care. They can give it to whoever they favor," Thalia said angrily.

"Did you quarrel with your parents? You shouldn't have. You should talk

to them nicely and work things out," he said gently.

"I can never have a nice conversation with them!"

Thalia was a little excited at the mention of James and Elena.

"They've already invited Chuck home. How am I supposed to talk to them?"

Finley's body froze slightly.

"Finley..." Thalia said helplessly. "Can't you be even just a little more

competitive? Are you really not afraid that I will fall in love with others?

Or you just simply don't give a damn?"

Before Finley could reply, someone knocked on the door.

Thalia immediately collected herself.

The one who entered was Garry Castle, Finley's colleague.

"Dr. McMillan, fancy eating together? The dean will be there as well."

As soon as he finished speaking, Garry noticed the figure beside Finley.

"Oh, this is..."

"My fiancée."

"Great! We can have lunch together," Garry warmly invited. Thalia figured that they were going to talk about the business trip.

She was upset and didn't want to stay here anymore.

"I still have something to do. I'll get going."

Thalia forced a smile and quickly left.

Garry glanced at Finley sympathetically.

"Did you piss your fiancée off?" Finley silently pursed his lips. "What are you waiting for? Go and coax her."
