Wing Of Change
Chapter 10

“What are you doing here?”

“Can I come in?” Frank asked with a puff of breath.

Aria only scoffed at his audacity. “Can you come in you say?_how did you even replace me?”

“Please! Just hear me out” he begged and took an inch closer and causing her to back away from him in fright.

Aria could barely stand the man presence not to mention having him another inches closer. Her decision to unlock her front door was a bad one she regretted every bit of it.

“If you are here to talk about what happened between us then just go away. I just want to forget it ever happened so please spare me the details” She was about to close the door at his face before he reached out and stopped her half way.

“No_wait please! Just give me some few minute. That’s all I need”

She was momentarily lost in her own thought as she kept staring back at him.

Frank looked like a war was going on in his mind or was it guilt? She couldn’t understand any of it but something was tugging at her mind to just hear him out even if it was just for a few minutes.

“Alright fine. You have ten minutes!”

“That’s will be more than enough”

Aria had both arms crossing her chest as she stood with tight l*p still glaring at him but he said nothing in reply.

“Well?_start talking already!” She practically yelled at the man.

Frank shifted from one foot to the next while throwing short glances behind him. “Can we maybe go inside and talk?_away from listening ears?”

Aria was about to protest but got the hint when she noticed her neighbours lingering around the lobby not far from her door step.

It turned out they were the nosy neighbours and could easily make a street headline out of whatever he has come to say if their antenna of ears were to catch even a breeze of it.

And she wouldn’t want that, not at the very least.

She took a deep breath and then moved slightly to the side, allowing him entrance before he quickly strode in before she could change her mind.

Frank went into her apartment and stood beside the cushion but made no attempt to seat on it. he had no idea how she might react so he just stood there with wide eyes_scrutinizing her living space.

Aria’s place was a nice little apartment. Not overly extravagant but very simple. warm and above all, has that homely vibe that could make anyone feel just at home.

Her newly painted creme wall was decorated with some amazing traditional art work. Giving it a nod of approval, he turned to the other side.

The study area where her bookshelf stood was to the right corner of the room, housing all her favorite books and pictures frames.

On a friendly visit, Frank would have been tempted to take a closer look at those baby pictures of hers but not at that moment that she was most likely to go at his balls if he even stared at them another damn minute longer.

Her dinning was to the left. Just directly opposite her kitchen with a basket of fruit seating at the very middle of the mini table.

A medium size plasma TV was hanging on the wall with a rectangular glass table in the middle. Not very much to see but it was beautifully set up to suite her taste and offer comfortability.

Frank was pulled back to reality when Aria strode passed him and cleared her throat loudly.

Aria was about to say something but he beat her to it and offered her a compliment instead. “Your place is beautiful if you don’t mind me saying”

He felt awkward when she only glared at him harder.

She walked over to the opposite cushion from where he stood and sat down before looking back at him. “You can seat if you want but make it quick” she threw the offer at him and he took it in a matter of heart beat.

“Thanks” he said after he was seated.

“Well?” Aria had broken the silent ice between them.

“Uhm_the reason I came here is because I wanted to apologize to you Aria” he took a short pause and adjusted himself on the cushion and even tried to make eye contact with her only to replace her glaring at him.

It made him really uncomfortable so he darted his eyes towards another direction instead.

“What changed?” Her voice was hard and demanding.

Frank was quiet for a moment as he thought about the question in his head.

What actually changed?!_a lot had changed in the span of just an hour. All it took was for him to try and get back in bed after she left him only for his eyes to settle on the evidence from last night deception.

He didn’t want to believe it at first but it was right there staring at him in the face and he couldn’t deny it existence nor the possibility of it being true.

The b***d stain on the bed changed everything. He should have noticed the signs from last night while they were very much at it.

Her cry of discomfort from the beginning was right there to warn him not to mention how tight her entrance was.

Remembering all the detail now made him feel like the biggest fool around. Maybe he was more drunk than he actually thought he was.

Frank knew he had to answer and answer truthfully as well. He came there to do just that and if she was asking then she deserved to know.

“Everything changed the moment you left and I realized I was a total jerk to you this morning after what we did last night. It was stupid and very thoughtless of me and am here to say sorry” he said in one sentence and just kept staring at her for a reaction.

“Okay!” Aria had said simply with a careless.

Frank raised an unsure brow at her direction. Her reaction was not exactly what he was expecting to see but it was still better than complete silence.

Heck, he didn’t even imagined she’d let him into her apartment and there he was seating right opposite her even though something tells him, it won’t be for very long.

Aria might have said okay to his apology but he seemed to be more bothered by her reply as he got back on his feet and began to pace around in frustration.

Frank could barely look at her direction at this point. He couldn’t bear to see the disgust in her eyes for him when he finally tell her about everything that happened last night. She’d hate him more than she already does and it would be his damn fault.

Even though they were both drunk_he knew exactly what he wanted to do to her without feeling any remorse about it. If only he had known she was still a virgin. He never would have done it even with her consent.

All Frank wanted that night was to take revenge on her for making a fool out of him at the bar that night. He never would have done it without the influence of the alcohol and now he regretted every bit of that stupid decision down to that very moment.

He didn’t know what to expect when he drove down there but he knew he had to come and to have her react like that was something he didn’t see coming as he took another step forward and paused.

Frank found himself apologizing again.

“I’m sorry miss Davis_maybe you didn’t hear me the first time but i said, I had no idea you were still untouched and waiting. The decision to be with you last night should never had happened but it did and I take full responsibility if you want to take any action against me”

If look could kill?_Frank would have been dead by now. “I heard you the first time Mr Frank Okoji and no_I have no intention of dragging you for anything so you can rest easy”

Aria had replied without even looking at his direction.

Frank took a deep breath and allowed his arms to fall back to his side.

“Okay! If that’s your decision then thank you but I will very much understand if you need money or whatever. Just say it and it’s yours”

“No!_I don’t need your money or any form of compensation for what happened between us. Giving out money is not the only solution to every single problem but you wouldn’t understand it even if I tried to explain so what I want from you to get out of my house and leave me you right now is to get the hell out of my house and leave me the hell alone!” Aria had yelled at him in anger which had startled Frank as well.

That wasn’t the answer he was hoping to get.

“Look! I understand how this whole thing must be for you and believe me, am trying my very best to be civil here but if that’s what you truly want then it’s okay! I will leave alright?”

Aria took another puff of breath to calm herself.

“Alright then leave!”

He tried to reach for her hand but she moved away before he could. Somehow it hurt his feelings to see her reacting in that manner when they were supposed to be two adults.

It’s even worst she was looking at him as though he was a monster with no moral standing.

“Just leave alright!” Aria had repeated again, this time she was livid and pointing towards the door.

With his hands up in a defensive mood_ he turned towards the door and paused then turned around and looked back at her briefly before leaving.

Frank wanted so badly to say something to her again. Maybe apologized again but just couldn’t. At least not with the way she was glaring at him.

He simply swallowed back his words and kept walking out the door, feeling even worst than he came.

Fifteen more minutes had gone by but Aria was still mounted by the doorway in tears. She continued to cry her eyes out while leaning against the door frame until she felt a vibration against it and realized it was a knock from outside.

Still thinking Frank could be the one lingering out there. She decided to make sure she got him to leave this time around as she quickly wiped her tears and unlocked the front door to give him a piece of her mind.

Turned out it wasn’t Frank as she had assumed but Lizzy!
