Wing Of Change -
Chapter 91
*
“So where are we travelling to” Aria had asked Henry out of the blue still munching on her chicken.
A little smile creep up across his face at her question. He wasn’t expecting it but he was happy she was showing interest in his proposal.
He was expecting her to resist some more and not agreed readily. But either way he was eager to give a reply.
“We can travel to anywhere you like. Just say the word and we are out of here” he spoke enthusiastically.
“So you are telling me that you’d throw away your career and whole life just to run away with me?”
“Not exactly but for now, yes!. We can always settle somewhere and I could start up a clinic there” he explained with a thoughtful look in his eyes.
Aria only replied with a small nod. Still deep in thought. She was processing a lot at that moment without giving away anything.
If Henry was willing to give up everything then it could only mean one thing. He won’t hesitate to drag her across the country with him if he had to.
She knew if she wanted to get out of that hell_her weakness and emotions has to be kept aside. If not for anyone else, she has to do it for her baby and everyone else who loves her and are waiting out there for her.
Speaking of baby; Henry hasn’t said much concerning her child other than he needed her to put to bed soon enough. She couldn’t help but get frightened thinking of the sick ideas he might be having about her baby once it’s born.
“What will you do with my child when it born?”
He answered with a shrug.
“I don’t know yet but I will like you to keep it. Am not a killer”
Aria only raised a brow at his statement but said nothing in reply. What’s the point of arguing when she could get out of there rather than stick around to replace out.
Aria thought back to the event that happened back at the bar the night she was drugged. Now that she remember some of the details, she has no doubt the strange looking guy at the bar that was throwing short glances at their table was none other than him.
He has been keeping tap on her every move without anyone even realizing it while acting as though he doesn’t care.
“You were at the bar that night weren’t you?” She asked with a raised brow
“I couldn’t miss out on the fun now would I?”. He answered with a contented sigh.
Aria had no doubt he has been doing more than just following her around like a shadow.
She arched a brow at him. Studying his features more intently and wondering why she never saw the lies beneath it all. Henry was too good of a friend to forget it all and just let go. He was even better at acting than being a doctor now that she thought of it. he even had her so convinced that she never would have thought him to be this conniving and sick bastard that was seating before her with so much conviction and need to claim her as his.
“I won’t be surprised if you told me you made it to the court ceremony as well” she pushed even further.
He adjusted on the chair at her accusing statement and gave a careless shrug with a daring expression.
“I told you I was looking forward to seeing you walk down the isle didn’t I?” He answered honestly with a smile so bright that Aria couldn’t help but roll her eyes mentally at him while he continued in his analogy.
“You were the most stunning bride I have seen in a long while after my sister. And when I saw you walk down that isle, I knew I won’t survive it because I had lost my mind long before you walked out of it”
She wasn’t surprised at his statement. In fact it proved many of her suspicions right. Henry has really lost his mind and there is no doubt about it.
Her only regret was not realizing how much of a psychopath he really was from the beginning up until that very moment. That would have helped her take every word he uttered a lot more seriously than she ever did.
“How did you even replace out about the marriage plans unless someone told you”
He gave a low chuckle at her naivety.
“I have my ways of replaceing out things. In fact that lousy friend of yours did a great job with spreading the word without even realizing it. All I had to do was give her a little bit of attention and some alcohol to get her to talk”
“Lizzy did what?”
“All am saying is that she is bit more cooperative when she is drunk”
“You stay away from my friend alright? She is not a toy to play with for your selfish reasons”
“You got it ma’am. You know i have eyes only for you” he ended with a wink.
She was no longer eating at this point. Her appetite was suddenly gone with every minute she spent listening to him. To think that Henry was manipulating her best friend as well was unforgivable.
She pushed her plate of food aside and stood back up. “Where is the bathroom? I need to use it”
Henry walked over to her and held her by the arm as if she needed help with walking. “I will take you” he offered, leading the way but Aria was too quick in pulling her arm away from his light grip. “I can take myself Henry. Just point me to where it is”
He gave a low chuckle and shook his head at her. “I can’t do that Aria. The last thing i need right now is you running off and we both know that won’t be nice after everything I have said now would it?” Cocking his brow at her in an amused way which only caused a little frustrating g***n to escape her lips.
“You can as well just let me go Henry. You don’t have to do this” she tried to reason with him but got brushed aside with snort.
“Don’t push it. I’m trying my best for you to see me as a good guy because I am a good guy. But no matter what I do, you rather run off to that bastard that doesn’t even deserve you” Henry had blurted out in utter frustration.
“Frank is not a bastard. He is my husband and also the father of my baby. The sooner you accept that fact the better for everyone” Aria had countered back feeling more agitated than ever.
He shot her a warning glare but she was no where intimidated by his stare down and he knew it.
“Well not anymore because you are mine now and am never letting you go” he resorted with a growl.
“You really don’t get it do you? Keeping me here against my will won’t make me yours. You can’t force me to love you”
“It doesn’t matter. You will like me when you realize that am the only one for you Aria. You are mine” he had deadpanned and thereby leaving no room for further argument.
Aria was fuming with anger at this point until she felt a peng of pain and clutched her stomach hard while taking a deep breathe.
‘C’mon darling. If you don’t want your baby to come out prematurely then you have to calm down and let me take you” he scoped her off the floor in bridal style and stalked off before she could protest any further.
“Put me down Henry” Aria had struggled against him either way but he didn’t let go until he made it to the door connecting the room from the other end and dropped her carefully on the floor.
“I will be out here while you do whatever it takes to ease your self and please for the love of all that’s holy. Don’t try to climb through the window for your own safety because it’s a dead end” he warned firmly causing Aria to glare at him before slamming the door a little too loudly.
**
The bathroom was sparkling clean with a bathtub by the side and some toiletries in the cupboard. She hurried over and grab the faucet and turned on the water and splash little against her face.
The gesture was meant to calm her down but got her crying instead. She couldn’t hold her tears back anymore neither did she wanted him to see her cry hence her need for using the bathroom.
She glanced at her reflection in the mirror momentarily and couldn’t recognized who was staring back at her. Aria was beyond frightened knowing fully well that no one would replace her unless by some miracle.
Her eyes looked swollen with visible bags to last her a decade.
She wiped off the last drop of tears when she remembered the promise she made to herself. She was going to stay strong no matter what.
She felt another peng of pain surge through her and causing her to grip firmly against the white ceramic bowl around the water sink while taking in deep breath_ in and out as much as she could to ease the unsettling contraction.
“We will get out of here baby. Just hang in there. You can’t come out just yet. We need to replace a way to get to your dad to come replace us” she spoke through gritted teeth while glancing at the door way.
She couldn’t afford to let him see her that way.
She continued to focus on her breathing until she felt a bit of relief and took another deep breathe before stepping away from the sink with a sigh.
“Are you okay in there or you need me to come get you” Henry had called from the other end which only reminded her to stay calm.
She pulled the door open and pushed pass him by the door and head straight to the bed and sat against the bed with a pout.
“Now what?” He asked scrutinizing the frown on her face.
“I want ice cream” she uttered ever so innocently.
“Right now?” Raising a brow at her.
She gave a curt nod. “Frank get them for me every night. It helps me sleep better through the night”
He studied her for a moment but giving a small nod.
“Alright fine. I will go get you some but you have to stay here and keep quiet” he reminded her.
Aria only snort at him and murmured incoherently but he only stalk off towards the door way and paused before turning around to look back at her. “Is there anything else you want apart from the ice cream perhaps?”
“Sharwama will be fine”
“I will be back soon”
She heard the door clicking from the other end and knew he has locked her in once more. She got up on her feet and began to rampage around looking for something solid but found nothing.
Henry is too intelligent to leave anything behind obviously.
Disappointed with her replaceings, she head back to the bed and sat on it still deep in thought.
She needs to replace something before he returns and fast.
