Wing Of Change -
Chapter 96
**
It’s been two whole month already and Aria still hasn’t woken up from her coma. Even though the doctors had assured Frank over a month back, that her chances of waking up was pretty high but even at that, she still hasn’t shown any sign of waking up other than the little twitching of her hand that had occurred more than twice during his frequent visit.
The doctor had explained it to be her reflexes but Frank would rather not give up on her recovery_reflexes or not. That was the only proof that she was still in there and could also hear him talking to her too.
Frank made sure to visit every single day as the hospital was practically his second home at that point. He spend most of his time there beside her bed and making sure she was getting the treatment she needed.
He wanted to be right there when she wakes up. The first person she looks at and have her know how much he has missed her and finally be able to see her beam her charming smile at him again.
The doctor had mentioned a shock trauma that has affected her brain and causing her slow response to the treatment she was being given
Life hasn’t been the same without her_especially for Frank who was faced with the responsibility of looking after their daughter Evergreen_ and all by himself..
His only comfort was his little girl._she was fragile and beyond pretty. Laced with her mother’s best features. Frank couldn’t allow anyone take care of her, not even his mother who has offered to have them both over at her residence until Aria was out of coma but Frank was bent on doing it all by himself.
Aria would want that_he thought with a sad little smile as he knelt down beside her crib and began to caress her soft little cheeks, causing her to erupt with giggles and at the same time_ suck on her thumps.
She must be hungry!
It must be time for her next bottle as he shuffle around for her milk bottle in one of the baby bags lying around before picking her up from her baby crib and into his arms.
“Hey baby! Don’t cry_your papa is right here” he cooed at her and she seemed to have heard him as Evergreen looked up at her father intently before blinking a few times.
“Good girl! Now papa’s going to feed you alright?”
He placed a few drops against his skin just to make sure it’s cold enough for her before placing it against her mouth while she make suckling sounds nibbling against it.
He continued to watch his daughter eat like she was his new favorite thing in the world and indeed she pretty much was. His only wish was for Aria to be there to witness it herself.
Frank was pretty much overwhelmed by how someone could be so perfect and without a doubt_the best thing that ever happened in his entire thirty five years of existence.
Aria still made sure to guaranteed he’d stay happy even in her worst moment. She gave him his little bundle of joy when she could have been fighting for her life and he couldn’t even begin to imagine life without her.
She was everything that kept him sane and alive and still going.
Frank has been working from home for the past months now. Placing his daughter well being above every other thing in his life. Goes to the office only when it’s an emergency or he could just conduct a live streaming board meeting from home just fine.
His best pal Kelvin and Lizzy has always made themselves available to assist him whenever they could but other than that, she was all his to look after.

It was after 6pm and the sun was starting to set with Frank putting his little girl to bed before plopping down on the cushion in the living room with his head thrown back in utter exhaustion.
He was half asleep when he heard the front door erupting with steady knocks and jolting him out of his slumber.
He rubbed at the visible bags around his tired eyes and gave a frustrated g***n before dragging himself to the door to unlock it. Moment like this one annoys him to no end. Performing his butler task wasn’t part of his to-do list but can he really blame him? Not if he was the one who had sent him out on an errant.
Frank took one last frustrating puff of breath before pulling the door open only to frown at the figure standing by the door way.
Can this day end any worst? Because it seemed to be heading towards the gutter really fast.
The last person he was expecting at that point (not that he was expecting anyone) was standing at the door way with sagging shoulders and staring back at him.
“What are you doing here?” His voice utterly laced with ice as it burn through the tense air between them.
He watched with raised brow as she shifted from one foot to the next before replying.
“Can_can I come in? I won’t take much of your time”
Frank was about to probably say something nasty but swallowed it back down when she beat him to it. “Please!” She begged
He hesitated for a moment before taking a step back and along with the door as well and allowing her to walk through.
“Ten minutes!” He told her and she nodded.
Frank sat opposite her on the cushion with careful eyes as he continued to watch her intently_studying her nervous demeanor under his scrutiny.
“What is it Sandra? Did the cat caught your tongue on your way here?”
She quickly cleared her throat and adjusted on the cushion, still looking down at her hands that were intertwined and placed against her lap.
“I’m sorry Frank!” She took a pause and looked back at him. “For everything”
Frank took a deep sigh and leaned away from the comfort of the cushion. “Look Sandra. If you are here to apologise over what happened to Aria then I would suggest you leave right now. I have had a really long day and I just want to sleep so you can replace your way out”
He got up and was about to walk away from her but she was up on her feet before he could. “Please wait! Don’t throw me out yet. I still need to tell you what I came here for”
Frank wasn’t in the least interested in what she had to say but she sounded pretty insistent plus the desperation in her voice told him it was important. “Is this about Daniel?” He asked. His stances softening a bit at the thought of his son.
She gave a weak shrug.
“It’s about Daniel and your father!” She breathe out nervously.
The mentioned of his father’s name alongside his son’s did the trick as he gave her a hard look before walking back to seat on the cushion.
“So What is it about my son and my father hmm?”
He watched her took in a deep breath to calm herself because she looked really nervous which only spiked his own curiosity as well.
“Daniel is_he is not your so_son”
Frank only looked back at her as if she was going to burst out laughing any minutes and he did end up kicking her out for playing pranks at him but she only stared back at him with pleading eyes.
“Daniel is not my son” he stated simply. The words tasting like bitter syrup in his mouth.
She nodded in affirmation.
“Care to explain why the paternity test we conducted said he is indeed my son when in fact he wasn’t” His voice is silent growl.
“That’s because he is your step brother” She uttered, with a hint of regret in her voice. Which caused Frank to inhale rather sharply as his head snapped at her direction.
“Daniel is my step what?”
