You Hit My Heart -
Chapter 384
Joyce put the paper application in her carry-on bag and she got out ofthe car in front of the group headquarters.
As she walked into the group lobby, she suddenly received a call fromKarl.
"Hey, Karl, is there any progress on Grandma's case?" Warmth rippledacross Joyce's lips.
Karl was a great help to her. When she returned from Hill Benjamin, she learned that Karl had intercepted Stephanie's will and sent it to theCapital himself, preserving the most important evidence to prove herinnocence.
Later, when she was trapped in Hill Benjamin, it was also Karl andLuther who spared no efforts to help her.
This kindness of Karl's, she must pay back properly in the future.
“I'm sorry that we do not have any progress regarding Stephanie's caseat this time. However, with Lauren's case, I have found some problem. For the specific details, can we meet at noon to talk about it? I'm nearthe R&S Group right now.” Karl asked.
"Okay, meet me in half an hour at the restaurant across from R&SGroup." Joyce looked at her watch, it was close to noon.
After hanging up the phone, she returned to the automotive projectteam, arranged her work, and hurried downstairs again.
She walked out of the group's lobby and crossed the street to therestaurant across the street.
She's always quick to act, and Karl hadn't arrived yet.
She sat down, opened the menu, and ordered an m9 steak for Karl, asmoked cod for herself, two more Italian gumbo, and a salad.
The menu was electronic, and after she pressed the options and justplaced her order, she heard a movement beside her.
She looked up and smiled, “There you are.”
But when she saw the person in front of her, the smile froze on her lips.It was Luther. She could hardly believe it! How could he just beeverywhere!
Luther's handsome eyebrows flew up and he nonchalantly sat downopposite her, his legs elegantly folded, and asked, "Have you orderedall the dishes? I'm hungry, too."
“I'm sorry.” Joyce coldly lowered her face and tried to drive him away, "Ihave an appointment with someone."
“That's okay, we'll order another one when he gets here." Luthergestured to the menu, "Order me another Americano."
"You!" Joyce's beautiful eyes glared slightly and she looked around, "Ireally have an appointment!"
"So what? Someone I can't see?" Luther picked up the free lemonadein front of him and took a sip with a pleasant demeanor.
He looked very laid back, not at all like someone who had just gone tothe court with her to file for divorce only in the morning.
It was as if nothing had happened.
His bizarre attitude suddenly made her feel that the divorce files shegot in the morning were a bit unreliable.
She didn't know he had such a thick skin and she really couldn'tunderstand him.
At that moment, Karl pushed open the door of the restaurant andwalked in.
He froze slightly when he saw that Luther was there.
He didn't know if Joyce had also taken Luther along, or if it just sohappened that they had met. He had followed all their news during thistime, and he naturally knew about Joyce's pregnancy. It was just thatMr. Henderson claimed to be the father of the baby, about which hepersonally did not replace very credible.
Although he did not have much contact with Joyce, but with hisknowledge of Joyce, it didn't seem like something Joyce would do."Karl, excuse me, or shall we talk somewhere else?" Joyce stood upand glanced disgruntledly at Luther.
