Chapter 65

That night, Donald and Susan also returned from a trip. The two old people did not seem tired after going out for a while. Instead, they looked energetic.

Seeing Lucas and Annabelle here. Donald and Susan were quite happy, especially Donald. He directly pulled Annabelle over to see the gifts he brought back from outside.

Other than the gift for her, Donald and Susan bought trinkets for their two great–grandchildren such as rattle drums, shoes and hats for children, soft and comfortable bibs, small bellybands embroidered with various exquisite patterns, and small handkerchiefs.

Annabelle’s eyes lit up. She really liked these trinkets. She didn’t even pay attention to the gift Donald and Susan had prepared for her. She just focused her attention on the little things.

“Grandpa and Grandma, where did you buy these things? They’re so beautiful!” Looking at these trinkets, Annabelle wished she could have given birth to her children now.

“Didn’t we old guys go out for fun in a group?” Susan explained with a smile, “We stayed at a farmhouse for two more days. I went out for a walk with an old friend after dinner and saw a woman selling these little things at a roadside stall. Though they were being sold by the roadside, they were made by the woman by hand. Look at these stitches. They’re very good!”

Annabelle didn’t mind if they were sold at a roadside stall. These things were too cute.

“Really?” Donald and Susan were happy to see that Annabelle liked them very much. Susan bought all the things sold by that

woman.

She had thought that Annabelle would despise these things because they were worthless. However, she felt that it would be at pity to miss them, so she decided to buy them and bring them back to see whether Annabelle would like them or not.

She hadn’t expected Annabelle to like them as much as she did herself. Susan was really happy that Annabelle also liked those little things she liked.

“Grandpa and Grandma, you have given Annabelle a gift. There are even gifts for her unborn babies, too. Where are the gifts for me?” Elizabeth pushed her way in front of the other people and asked calmly with a straight face.

When Donald and Susan saw this, their hearts skipped a beat.

Except the gifts for Annabelle and her unborn babies, they hadn’t bought gifts for anybody else.

However, they had brought back gifts for everyone when they went out for fun in the past.

“Where’s the gift for our granddaughter? Give it to her!” Susan said to Donald.

Donald was speechless. When did they buy a gift for Elizabeth?

He looked at Susan in a puzzle, who was winking at him continuously.

The corners of Donald’s eyes twitched uncontrollably. He could understand what Susan was thinking about. Elizabeth didn’t get along well with Annabelle. If Donald and Susan couldn’t treat the two of them fairly this time, it would only make Elizabeth angrier and dislike Annabelle more.

However, they hadn’t bought a gift for Elizabeth, how could he conjure a gift out of thin air?

“Didn’t I ask you to buy that bracelet? You didn’t buy it, did you? Well, how did you do things, old man?” Susan said and

frowned.

Donald couldn’t say anything. Now he was the scapegoat!

Elizabeth sat down, watching expressionlessly the old couple acting.

At this moment, Noah also came over and asked Donald and Susan for a gift.

Donald and Susan thought, “What the hell are they doing?”

“Grandpa and Grandma, where’s the gift for me? You have given them gifts, so you should give me one, too, right?” Lucas came over and asked dubiously.

It was not unusual for other people to ask for gifts, but why did Lucas ask for one, too? Donald and Susan were unhappy. Even If there was not a gift for him, there were gifts for Annabelle and her unborn babies. He just took his undeserved gain for granted. Even if he didn’t want to stay far away from them, he shouldn’t come to cause trouble.

Looking at Donald’s and Susan’s speechless expressions, Annabelle was the first to burst out laughing. When Donald and Susan saw her laughing like this, they immediately became nervous. After they turned around, they saw Elizabeth laughing,

“We’ll buy gifts!” Susan waved her hand and said heroically, “Isn’t it just a bracelet? I’ll buy you seven bracelets. From Monday to Sunday, you can wear a different bracelet every day!”

Elizabeth didn’t know what to say. Indeed, rich people were so domineering!

She wanted to be rich, too!

Elizabeth looked at Annabelle and said seriously, “Let’s open flower shops all over the country!”

Annabelle was silent. It was a little difficult to do this! They were just flower shops. How could they bloom?

“Early June!” Annabelle said.

The unborn babies were his little nephew and niece!

Lucas looked at Noah and frowned slightly.

Lucas thought, “How did you know I want to say thank you?”
