Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman
Chapter 331 You Married A Good Girl

"You're right, Grandpa Benjamin. I shouldn't say that," Jesse said but deep inside she felt disappointed.

'Grandpa said Benjamin would support me to be his granddaughter-in-law. But it seems that he is wrong.

Benjamin loves Zed so much. There is no doubt that he will support his grandson to get what he likes. I am in big trouble, 'Jesse thought secretly.

"Don't be upset, Jesse. It is such a pity that I can't have you as my granddaughter-in-law. I like you so much. If you had known about your feelings a little sooner, you wouldn't have gotten yourself in such a bad position." Benjamin sighed and continued, "At the beginning, I really hoped you and Zed could be together. But now..."

Benjamin stopped himself from continuing. He took a deep breath and composed himself while he gazed at Zed's back with an endearing look.

"Grandpa Benjamin, don't be upset. I know you treat me as your granddaughter, and I will always consider you to be my family. I'm happy to have you accompany me, Grandpa Benjamin. Please don't be hurt by my words." Looking at Benjamin, it was evident that he was sad. "I have to face my destiny. My only hope is that brother Zed will live happily ever after. As for me, I will be content as long as he is happy."

"Silly girl! Don't be that stupid!" Benjamin was now touched by Jesse's words and looked at her with pride. "You know I still think you are a good fit for Zed. But due to the circumstance, nothing can happen now. So you need to move on Jesse. Why bother? Hopefully you will meet your Mr. Right soon."

"Grandpa Benjamin, It's not that easy! It's hard to say goodbye so easily when you love someone so deeply. And please don't worry about me, Grandpa Benjamin. I know what I'm doing." Jesse looked at Benjamin and spoke out the words in a tone of resolution. Hearing all of this, Benjamin was both moved and saddened. He clearly noticed the love Jesse had for Zed in her eyes. Regret washed over him.

Being so smart, Jesse detected a sudden change of expression on Grandpa Benjamin's face. She tactfully put on an expression of sadness.

'That's what I want. My efforts won't go in vain anymore!' a victorious voice screamed in Jesse's mind.

Now she was under the impression that Grandpa Benjamin would persuade Zed to marry her, sooner or later.

On the other side, Jean was busy with preparation. With Zelda's help, she made two hot dishes and a green salad.

After hours of work, dinner was ready. Finally, Jean untied the cooking apron and walked out of the kitchen.

The first sight she noticed was Jesse and Benjamin walking together. They seemed to be chattering happily not noticing anyone near them. Something felt wrong and she had a strong feeling this had something to do with Jesse's plan. 'Where is Zed and Grandpa Dan?

Why does Jesse want to chat with Grandpa Benjamin alone?

It seems like they are having a happy conversation.

Will Jesse use this opportunity to badmouth me?'

The last thing she wanted was to make a bad impression. Later, she thought it was no good guessing and realized maybe she was overthinking.

'Jesse is a daughter of the Tang family. She has to keep up with her good girl image. Badmouthing is definitely not what she will want to do before Benjamin,'

thought Jean. And now she felt a bit relieved. Sighing lightly, she composed herself and walked toward them. Before speaking, she put on a big smile and said, "Grandpa, the dinner is ready!"

Benjamin raised his eyebrows as he heard Jean call him. On seeing her, he frowned because he really disliked Jean.

Jean felt embarrassed under his scrutiny. Quickly, she smoothened her dress feeling self-conscious.

A second later, Jean realized it was not a good manner to do it before people so she dropped her hands and let it free.

'I think I am making a bad impression here, 'worried Jean.

"Grandpa, let me hold you," Jean said while she approached Benjamin. Her face wore a shining smile that made her look overexcited.

"Let Jesse help me. You can go to the yard to ask Zed and Dan to come inside," Benjamin ordered while he flashed her a look of distaste.

Jean felt somehow disappointed as Benjamin refused her help. But she didn't show it and said, "Okay, grandpa. Thank you for taking care of grandpa, Jesse."

With no choice, she gave a faint smile to Jesse before she left the area and went to the garden.

Seeing Jean look so composed, Jesse was surprised. She had no idea Jean was capable of behaving so properly.

"Jean is not an elegant woman and has a sharp tongue, but she really cares for Zed," Benjamin said snapping Jesse out of her thoughts.

Now his comment on Jean shocked her further. Deep down she felt disappointed but she feigned a smile and replied, "You are right, Grandpa Benjamin. She cares for Zed a great deal."

"So, even if I'm not satisfied with her, I have to accept Jean for Zed's sake," Benjamin continued with a look of resignation.

"Grandpa Benjamin, if Jean was not the person you think she is then what will you do?" Seeing confusion on his face, she added quickly, "Of course, it is just an assumption."

"I'm old but my judgment is as sharp as ever. She may enjoy playing some small tricks but she is kind inside," Benjamin said looking determinded. He cast a glance at Jesse because he had never expected such a question from her. 'Are you sure, Grandpa Benjamin?'

Jesse thought secretly. She really disliked Jean and didn't agree with what Benjamin had just said.

Jean rushed into the garden. Finally, she spotted Zed and Dan standing next to the swimming pool. Once again, she wore a smile on her face before she approached them. "Grandpa Dan and Zed! The dinner is ready."

On hearing Jean call them, they both raised their heads and turned to look at Jean. Jean was standing under a big tree and the sunlight danced across her face. Her pale skin was in subtle contrast to the golden sunlight. Her shining smile particularly added to her allure. "You married a good girl, Zed," Dan uttered and really meant it.

Zed gazed at Jean's pretty face. He was so happy to see Jean, but he composed himself and tried his best to not make his affection very obvious. "Thank you for your compliment, Grandpa Dan."

"Don't be shy. I'm just telling the truth," Dan said. They stopped talking as they noticed Jean approach them.

"What are you looking at? Come on! The dinner is ready," Jean said sounding out of breath from all the walking and searching.

"You look so beautiful, Jean," declared Zed with his eyes fixated on hers.

"Stop teasing me, Zed," Jean retorted while she blushed crimson. She couldn't believe that Zed had the audacity to say this in front of Grandpa Dan. Not wanting to show her face, she held Zed's arm but turned her face to Dan. "Grandpa and Jesse are waiting for us in the dining room, Grandpa Dan. How about we go back to the house?"

"Okay, let's go!" Dan nodded his assent and headed out of the garden.

Jean was about to follow Dan, but Zed suddenly dragged her back.

She turned around and looked at Zed with confusion. Slowly, she asked, "What's the matter?"

In a husky voice, Zed whispered as he gazed into her beautiful face. "I want to kiss you right now, Jean. Do you know how charming you are, Jean? I can't stop myself from looking at you."

"Oh, please," Jean replied looking flushed. Inside, she felt so embarrassed while his gaze pierced through her face. In his eyes, she detected fierce passion dancing.

"I want to kiss you so much that it is killing me," Zed begged while he moved forward to place his lips on hers.

"Zed... Please, stop. They are waiting for us."

Startled by his behavior, she refused to give in.

"I don't care. I'd love nothing more than to kiss you right now," Zed said while he tried to kiss her. Not caring for her words, Zed nudged her lips open and gently ran the tip of his tongue into her mouth and started his amorous kissing.

Deep down, Jean really enjoyed his passionate kissing, but she knew she had to stop it. Knowing that his grandpa was inside and she had to get her acts together, Jean resolutely pushed him away. 000000
