Glenda's POV

I heard Justin's confused voice as I realized that it was Chloe pinning him against the wall with her hand over his mouth. His hand fumbled to push her away, but she overpowered him, jerking up until he grunted. Blood spilled from beneath her fingers and she pulled the blade out with a wet sound. Blood splattered across the floor and she lowered his body to the ground. The sound of a fight came drifting down the hallway as Chloe helped Emoni to her feet.

"We need to get out of here."

Emoni nodded, "Thanks."

Chloe nodded and turned back to grab the magazine. I picked up the gun, trying not to look at Justin's body still twitching and choking on blood. Chloe walked through the growing pool of blood without blinking and pressed her back to the wall. I heard labored breathing.

"You think just because there's two of you, you'll take me out? Two pathetic betas are nothing."

Chloe looked back at us; she handed the magazine to Emoni who handed it to me. She fiddled with something on the side and pushed the magazine into the end of the gun. She held up her hand with a staying motion. Before Chloe darted out with a hysterical scream, covered in blood. "He-He's-"

Emoni stepped out as someone came around the corner. It was Teagan. Emoni swiped at her but missed as she dodged the swing of the knife. Teagan grabbed her by her jacket and knocked the knife out of her hand. Emoni growled and leaped forward, tumbling her to the ground.

"What the-bitch!" Andrew yelled as someone went running forward. Something thudded against the wall, and Jay growled. "F*****g whore!" "Renda, run!"

I couldn't breathe, but my legs moved and I darted out crossing the room. I saw Andrew lunge at me and I screamed as I dodged him. He crashed into the far wall, breaking a mirror and stumbling. I heard Emoni scream and another thud and my legs stopped. "Just like your mother always in my way!" Teagan roared as I turned. I saw her looming over Emoni and my heart lurched.

I turned around lifting the gun remembering her determined gaze as she freed me. Chloe had Jay on the ground in some complicated hold with a knife in his shoulder. Emoni was bleeding from her shoulder and glaring up at Teagan.

She'd kill her if I didn't do something. My hands lifted. The air exploded. I flew back and crashed to the ground. In front of me, Andrew stumbled a growing bloodstain on his chest as he looked at me in shock. "You... shot me?"

I heard Teagan cry out and a thud as Andrew stumbled and collapsed.

"Andrew!" Jay called. "Andrew!"

He choked, "Dad... I..."

I stood, a bit shaky. The world seemed so far away. There was a roaring in my ears as I looked over at Emoni who stood over Teagan with a furious look on her face. Blood-splattered and huffing with a knife in her hand. "Is she dead?"

"No," Emoni huffed. "Not yet."

"My son!" Jay cried. "I'll f*****g kill you! Andrew just hang on!"

"Shut the f**k up," Chloe hissed as she looked up at me, "What do we do with him?"

Emoni grabbed a hand full of Teagan's hair and dragged her closer to Jay.

"You have to patch him. He needs medical attention-"

I blinked and walked towards him through Andrew's blood. I wondered, just for a moment if he had walked through my family's house among the bodies once. If he'd seen my parents swinging bodies and thought of what medical attention they might have needed. I wondered in all the time since he had been living as Calvin had he ever felt remorse.

"What the f**k are you doing? He's your pack member!"

I looked down at Calvin, "So was Armina."

His eyes widened.

"And Zoe," I aimed the gun at him, just between his eyes. "And James... And Yvonne..."

"Who cares about them? My son-"

"And my parents!" I screamed at him, "And Angelia. We were all pack and you-You led them into Fluorite and had them all killed!"

Chloe's eyes widened, "You're from Fluorite?

Emoni forced Teagan to sit up and slapped her across the face, "Wake the f**k up, I have questions."

Teagan lifted her head with a groan, "I... should have had you killed."

"Don't worry," Emoni said, "I won't make the same mistake. You're going to tell me everything I want to know."

Tegan bared her teeth, "You don't scare-"

She cried out as Emoni plunged the blade into Teagan's leg.

"Who ordered you to have Frost Pelt attacked?"

I turned back to look at Calvin as Chloe held him still, forcing him to look up at me.

My jaw trembled. I had promised to learn. I had promised to get my revenge.

I was in Matt's life in what felt like a permanent way.

I hadn't found Angelia but I was so very close as was my revenge. Jay had answers I needed.

"Glenda, this isn't what your mother-"

"You're going to tell me everything you know about the attack about who was behind it and their plans," I pushed down my nausea and held the gun in both hands to keep my hands from trembling too much though they throbbed in pain from the kickback. "You're going to tell me now." He glared at me, "You don't have the guts."

"You don't know me."

He sneered, "You're not going to let my son bleed out and you aren't going to shoot your Uncle Jay-"

I didn't mean to, but he howled in agony as I shot him in his left kneecap.

"You bitch!"

"Tell me who ordered the attack!"

"I'd answer her," Chloe said with a slow smile, "I think she's serious."

"Ben." Teagan choked out, "Ben ordered it."

I glanced at her, "Fluorite or Frost Pelt?"

"Fluorite," she said.

Jay choked, "You're not going to get away with this."

"I think I will. Does he know I'm alive?"

Jay clenched his jaw, "My son-"

"Does he know?" I barked at him.

"No," he said through gritted teeth. "He doesn't."

He'd seen me already. It was only a matter of time.

"Why haven't you told him?"

He sneered, "You think I want to give him a reason to think I'm disposable?"

I gave him a cruel smile, "Not a nice feeling, is it?"

I felt a bit dizzy with the adrenaline pounding through my veins.

"Andrew-"

"Who did he send to attack us? How? Why?" He glanced back to Andrew. "I'm the only one with medical knowledge here. He'll bleed out before an ambulance arrives. Answer me."

It likely wasn't true, but no one said anything contrary.

"Luftmensch and Fireash," he said. "I gave him the patrol information. He promised to make me alpha of my own territory and a split of the profits and spoils. He wants the mines and the hold on the pharmaceutical botany there. Just a year of Fluorite's production would have been enough to set us up for life. I thought I'd replace the recipes, but I didn't. They weren't complete. The mines keep collapsing."

"Why kidnap me now? You've known I was alive for several weeks now."

"You were attached to Matt Wallber. I was in the middle of a power play against Midnight on Ben's behalf."

"What's his plan for Midnight?" I frowned.

"What do you think?"

I shot out his other kneecap as Teagan cried out in agony.

"F**k! You-"

"No sass," I growled.

"He wants the continent, you stupid girl. Mordecai is his biggest obstacle. If he gets rid of him before he and Uriel can team up, Warhammer can take over all of North America like the old days but more."

"What did you take to Skyfall?" I asked, "Products? Materials?"

"All of it. I'm pretty sure if you're alive then Luftmensch and Fireash have a piece of the pie too. Probably more than they should have." He glared up at me, "Now, save my son."

I lowered my gun, "Save my sister."

His eyes widened, "You can't-"

I struck him in the face as hard as I could. A tooth went flying and he crumpled forward.

I looked over at Emoni as Teagan finally went quiet, slumping as blood pooled around her. Emoni stood and turned to look at me.

"Is Matt still on the phone?"

I searched for the phone and found it on the floor in the kitchen.

Lights flashed through the windows and someone banged on the door. Chloe stood and went to the door. A woman pushed past her before freezing and looking at Emoni then at Teagan. I didn't recognize her, but as soon as she started to shriek and rush toward Emoni, I knew this had to be Teagan's daughter.

Emoni pulled the knife out of Teagan's chest and turned but Megan didn't make it more than a few steps before a furious growled ripped through the room. A sharp crack filled the air. Her head turned violent to one side and she collapsed.

Greyson stood behind her with glowing eyes that didn't seem completely conscious.

I heard the gun clatter to the floor as more lights came and tires screeched to a halt.

How far behind had they been?

I picked up the phone and found the call disconnected.

"Miss Renda? Miss Grace?" Someone called and I fell to the ground and heard nothing for a long time.
