Back to Love: A New Beginning -
Chapter 65
Chapter 65:.
Pretty soon, we were both naked. His kiss was more overwhelming than the thunder I could hear outside. I had no idea what had happened to him, but I could tell something must have happened.
During this stormy night, we indulged in our mutual lust in the bathroom. I even felt like I was going to pass out from how hard he was fucking me. Once we were done having sex, he pulled me out of the bathroom and put me on the bed.
The storm still hadn’t dissipated. Not long after, he got on top of me again.
I have no idea how long it was before he was satisfied enough to lie down next to me, catching his breath.
When I woke up the next morning, my aching muscles reminded me of how wild the sex we had last night was.
I turned my head and saw Derek’s sleeping face just inches from me. His face was slightly puckered. Somehow, he looked tired, but that didn’t diminish how attractive he was.
Today was my first day of work at Wonder Hospital, so I figured I shouldn’t be late. Carefully, I removed his hand from my body, afraid to wake him. As I was putting on my bra, he suddenly grabbed my hand.
Startled, I turned around and saw that he had woken up.
The sight of his naked body reminded me of our wild night. My heart skipped a beat and I instinctively cringed. As he held my hands, he turned my back to him. And then he helped me fasten my bra.
Afterwards, I got out of bed and put on some clothes. However, he hugged me from behind.
Derek rested his head on my shoulder and his hair brushed my cheek. “Did I hurt you last night?” The sound of his voice was husky and still a little sleepy.
I didn’t answer the question. From the French window, I saw his naked reflection as he hugged me, making me tense up.
He gently nibbled my ear and said, “I’m sorry about last night. Next time I’ll be gentler.”
My body always went weak every time he touched me, and it made me feel embarrassed.
I turned my face away, avoiding his lips. “Stop it, Derek. Today is my first day of work. I don’t want to be late.”
Finally, he let go of me and said, “I’ll drive you there.”
“No need,” I quickly replied. “I’m worried that others will gossip about me if I arrive at the hospital in a Maybach, considering I’m only going to work as a switchboard operator.” In the end, he continued to insist on driving me there, but stopped at a place near the hospital.
When I got out of the car, he told me he would pick me up after work and asked me to wait for his call.
I was soon on my way to the hospital. When I turned my head, I saw that his car was still there.
After introducing myself to the human resources department, the head of the department took me to the hotline in person, and arranged for another phone operator to teach me the basics of the job. I was told that I needed to familiarize myself with the job for the time being.
The telephone operator who would teach me the ins and outs of the job was named Brenna Lang. She was a few years older than me. She was beautiful, and she was a patient teacher.
I learned from her that a previous telephonist had resigned after becoming pregnant, so the hospital administration had to hire a new one as a matter of urgency. Brenna also told me that her pregnant colleague would be coming to the hospital tomorrow for a prenatal checkup, and would go through the resignation formalities.
Since there has to be a telephonist on call around the clock, the hospital had arranged a shift schedule. We didn’t even have a lunch break.
It was almost eleven o’clock when Louise called me. I remembered how Felix had taken her the night before, so I answered the phone immediately.
Judging by the sound of her voice, it sounded like she had just woken up. Since there was another person next to me, I couldn’t ask Louise directly if anything had happened between her and Felix, so instead I asked her where she was right now.
Brenna seemed to have guessed that I had something to deal with, so she told me I could go. She said it didn’t matter as long as she was there.
So, I hurried out of the hospital and took a cab to the Glamor Hotel. I took the elevator to the 21st floor, which was the last floor of the hotel, and went to the room number Louise told me.
The door to room 2105 was ajar. As soon as I opened the door, I saw her curled up on the bed. Her hair was in disarray and even the sheets were tangled.
Looking at the situation, I was almost certain that something might have happened here last night.
