Chapter 214 The Car Accident and Mary’s Connection
Benson leaned back on the sofa, his hands resting lightly on his knees, his eyes fixed intently on George in front of him.
His expression revealed deep contemplation and a hint of unease.
George was the person Benson trusted most, a trust that stemmed not just from their superior- subordinate relationship but also from the deep friendship they had built over the years.
Though their relationship had primarily revolved around work recently, Benson knew that George never hid anything from him.
Standing in front of Benson, George had his hands in his pockets, his expression serious. His face showed a thoughtful depth, as if he were trying to solve a complex puzzle.
“Could something have gone wrong?” George’s tone held a hint of uncertainty as he furrowed his brow, looking particularly earnest.
“I’ll check again.”
“I think maybe the mistake was mine,” Benson’s voice was somewhat subdued as his gaze softened, as if he were reflecting on himself.
“Maybe when I stopped being fixated on replaceing that person and started transferring my feelings, I began to hope that my wife was the one I had always longed for.”
Benson sighed softly, a trace of helplessness flashing in his eyes.
That persistent attachment to the past seemed like a psychological suggestion, leading him to a self- deceptive tendency when faced with hard facts.
He knew this mindset might be his problem, especially since he lacked much experience in love and had no standard to refer to
George observed Benson’s expression, a glimmer of understanding in his eyes. He knew that Benson was going through a significant internal struggle.
Benson’s complex emotions regarding this relationship were consuming him,
George didn’t rush to interrupt, patiently waiting for Benson to continue.
“There’s something else…. Benson’s voice was low, as if hesitating whether to continue.
“What is it?” George’s expression was filled with curiosity and concern.
“There’s a good chance that Olivia and Sol were lovers.”
Benson spoke softly, his voice carrying an unmistakable shock and confusion. His expression grew serious, as this information was undoubtedly a huge shock to him.
“So, that’s why Yvonne is so certain that Olivia doesn’t love Steven,” George said, his face clearly showing his surprise. He was stunned, a look of disbelief crossing his eyes.
The information George had previously uncovered showed that Yvonne wasn’t in Las Vegas, which made the whole situation even more mysterious,
George’s
thoughts became jumbled as he struggled to piece together a logical explanation.
“But…” George’s voice held a note of anxiety, if Olivia and Sol were lovers, how could Olivia get involved with her own boss?”

It was a mystery that seemed impossible to explain.
The relationship between the two seemed velled by an invisible curtain, making any effort to uncover the truth seem futile.
At the evening banquet of the summit, Yvonne encountered several familiar faces, including Raymond
Since the Ls brand entered Caesar Plaza, Raymond had become a key contact for them.
Yvonne remembered that Benson had specifically written Raymond’s name on the list when she was looking for a general manager for Caesar Plaza,
She had been so busy with work lately that she forgot to ask Benson why he had recommended Raymond.
However, today she didn’t meet Raymond at the banquet but rather during a discussion about industry experiences and cooperation opportunities.
Raymond, the regional head of Ls, had a unique eye for choosing brand ambassadors for luxury brands in the country. He had an uncanny ability to match the brand’s tone with the most suitable spokesperson, making Ls a leader in the global luxury market.
Today, Yvonne learned that Raymond had significant autonomy in his operations, even to the point where shareholders had no say, making him particularly favored within the company.
However, when Raymond mentioned wanting to leave tangible benefits, like company shares, for his future children and family, the other party firmly refused.
This scene helped Yvonne understand why Benson valued Raymond so much. His abilities were undeniable, and although his salary and bonuses were substantial, they were insignificant compared to Ls’s annual profits.
Perhaps Benson had approached him, prompting Raymond to seek more concrete benefits.
Yvonne, having overheard the conversation, quietly left the scene. No one likes to have their awkwardness exposed, especially in such a setting.
As Yvonne prepared to head to the buffet area of the banquet hall to replace something to eat, she navigated through the noisy hallway, recognizing familiar voices and laughter amidst the clamor.
Just then, Andrew approached her, holding a glass filled with amber liquid.
Yvonne paused, quickly surveying her surroundings, realizing that everyone else was gathered further away.
“Looking for me?” she asked with a hint of surprise, a glimmer of inquiry in her eyes.
“Can we talk?” Andrew looked at her, his tone somewhat probing, as if gauging whether this was the right moment for a deep conversation.
“Sure.” Yvonne nodded in agreement. Though her heart was filled with curiosity, she also felt a certain anticipation for the conversation to come.
They bypassed the crowd, choosing a relatively quiet corner. The soft lighting here contrasted sharply with the bustling banquet hall.
Andrew sat down on the sofa by the window, while Yvonne gracefully took a seat across from him.
“I’ve learned about Mary’s whereabouts,” Andrew began. “After returning from St. George, she has indeed been lingering around Benson.”
His gaze was fixed on Yvonne, searching for any subtle reaction on her face.

Hearing this, Yvonne couldn’t help but feel a mix of emotions. She had assumed Mary’s concern for Benson was ordinary but hadn’t expected her feelings to be so deep. This realization left Yvonne both surprised and uneasy.
“And what about the car accident? Is it connected to Mary?” Yvonne asked urgently, her voice carrying an undeniable seriousness.
Andrew paused slightly, as if searching for the right words.
“No.” He finally replied decisively.
But behind that simple answer lay a deeper meaning, one that Yvonne could sense remained unspoken.
“What’s strange is that on the surface, there’s no trace of it,” Yvonne said thoughtfully. She felt puzzled, wondering if there was someone powerful behind Mary Was her behavior merely to cover up some deeper motive?
Just then, Yvonne’s thoughts were interrupted by Andrew’s voice. His gaze had turned serious.
“What’s your stance on Bella?” Andrew’s smile held a hint of bitterness. “My stance? It’s more like she’s playing me.”
He spoke with a look of resignation on his face.
The once–shy girl from years ago had now become bold and daring, even unabashedly telling him, “I’m just playing with you.”
Hearing this, Yvonne couldn’t help but smile slightly, though a trace of doubt flickered in her eyes. “What about your fiancée? Does she mind Bella playing with you?”
