Chasing My Rejected Luna -
Chapter 103
TEGAN'S P.O.V
It took Imagen longer to come off of her potion than it took me. Helena wasn't wrong, her mom had to have friends in high places that were willing to help. It was definitely stronger than what Helena had given me.
For a moment there I started to think my theory of her also being a tribal wolf was wrong. However, after a little over a month she began to show signs of being gifted, just like me.
A lot had happened within that month aside from Imagen coming into her own powers.
I had finally decided Fredrick was the best choice to take over the Silverline Pack. Since the decision was made, he moved there and had been working on adjusting to taking on his new role.
He still kept up with his promise of proving to Imagen that he wanted to be her mate. He went above and beyond to show that he was sorry for being one of the causes of her pack's destruction.
Although his efforts meant a lot, she decided with the new life she was coming into that she would remain living in the Kingdom with me. It was for the best for now, especially with Helga and Iblis still hunting other possible tribal wolves.
Of course that has Fredrick on edge with the new reality that his mate will no longer be safe and he isn't able to protect her himself. However, at this very moment, the safest place for her was with me, not him. I know he would give his life for her, but in the end he was weaker and until this war was over, it was better that she resided in the Kingdom. I believe Fredrick ultimately understands her predicament and is being very patient with her as she adjusts to her new life.
Surely she had to know deep inside that she was special. Especially if her mother insisted that she drank the potion everyday or she would succumb to the same fate as she did. Why else would she need to drink a potion if she weren't hiding being special? But none-the-less I knew what it was like to learn something new about yourself. At least she had me to help guide her, whereas I was alone with discovering my true identity.
"Ready to start?" Tanner asked, taking me out of my never ending thoughts.
"Yeah, is Imagen?" I asked, looking over to where Imagen stood, terrified.
"She is still scared. But we have to break her out of that." Tanner said, looking in the same direction.
"How about let's take it slow?" I spoke while looking directly at her.
Her powers were manifesting and she had little to no control, which terrified her.
So far she has the ability to manipulate fire, and earth. But nothing else had shown itself. From what I understood, having two gifts as a tribal wolf was the most common.
"Which would you like to learn to control first?" I asked while taking her shaking hands into my own.
'Fire. I caught my bedroom curtains on fire last night and panicked when I couldn't stop it, the fire just kept blazing. I had to rush to the balcony and put my hands in the snow for it to stop. She signed while a small flame sparked in her hand.
"It gets easier, I promise." I said as I iced her hands to neutralize the flame.
'Says the one who can put out her own flames.'
"Hey, this is all new to you. Don't beat yourself up. You didn't see me when I first started, it was wild." I responded, trying to encourage her to look at the bright side.
"Yeah, we had to keep a fire extinguisher close at all times." Tanner added while laughing. His joke seemed to lighten Imagen's mood just a little.
"So first thing first, your emotions are the source of your powers. When you're upset that's when the powers can be hard to control. You have to learn to be even tempered to be able to control the manifesting powers." I said as if I was a pro. Knowing I was still learning to control them myself.
'My emotions haven't been exactly in check since meeting your brother.' She signed with a disappointed face. "Which is why we are going to work on that today. We will meditate." I said as I plopped down on the ground.
'What does this do for you?' She signed as she sat down in front of me.
"Just helps you get in touch with your inner self. It can give you a sense of calmness and balance which is supposed to be good for your emotional well-being. It is also supposed to help you cope with stress, which you've come into a lot recently." 'So what do I do?' She asked.
"First sit criss-cross, then close your eyes. Inhale through your nose while exhaling out your mouth. Feel your breath. The idea is to focus on your breathing, so when you inhale repeat the words to yourself. Do the same upon exhaling. Your mind will begin to wander a bit and that's okay. Just be kind to your wandering mind. Our goal is to relax our mind and body so try to focus on that. Okay?"
She closed her eyes and began to take deep breaths inward while exhaling softly.
After a little bit of time I opened my eyes to look at her. She had a scrunched up face while looking as if she were deep in thought.
"I think 20 minutes is a good start, we can work on something else now if you'd like?" I said, hoping to break her away from whatever she was thinking about.
But she didn't open her eyes. Instead her body fell backwards as she began to shake uncontrollably.
"IMAGEN!" I screamed as I jumped up from the ground to run over and get her on her side.
I had no idea she had seizures! I wasn't even sure what the proper steps were when someone was having a seizure. Panic quickly filled my body from the unknown.
'What's going on!' Ezra quickly mind-linked me, feeling the panic in our mate bond. I, however, was too frantic to reply.
Within seconds he came barreling through the woods in his wolf form, ready for the possibility of a fight. When he saw no attackers and only me holding Imagens body as she shook he quickly shifted back.
"What's going on?" He asked as he got on his knees next to me.
"I don't know." I said once I was finally able to get the words to form.
"Let's get her to Erin." He quickly replied as he swooped up her body with ease.
She was still shaking and that began to worry me. I thought seizures only lasted seconds. This was now going on for minutes.
Once we entered the hospital Erin was already there ready to take her.
"We have to get her body to stop before it affects her brain." Erin said while quickly injecting Imagen with a needle.
