Chasing My Rejected Luna -
Chapter 104
TEGAN'S P.O.V
After hours with no answers, Erin began to worry. She said if Imagen didn't wake up soon then she would be in a coma.
Her body wasn't constantly seizing, she just wasn't alert and awake.
I called Fredrick, but unfortunately, he hadn't answered or returned my calls. They aren't mated at all so he cannot feel what she feels. He can only sense things and apparently this was not something he could sense.
I sat at her bedside worried that I overpushed her limitations. Maybe she was right, it was too soon. She knew she wasn't ready to train and I pushed anyway.
I held her hand tightly in mine as I began to fall asleep as nighttime approached.
Suddenly her grip tightened. I quickly opened my eyes to see if she was seizing again but to my surprise her eyes were wide open and she was staring blankly at the wall ahead of her.
"Imagen. Hey, are you okay?" I asked as I quickly moved to stand in front of her.
She blinked a few times before her eyes moved over to look at me. She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out. Her face appeared frustrated before she placed her hand over her throat, closing her eyes only just a moment before opening them again. She opened her mouth to speak again and this time a squeak came out. My heart began to rapidly pound in my chest.
'She is awake, get in here.' I quickly mind-linked Ezra and Erin.
"Imagen. Hey I'm right here, everything is okay." I said as both Ezra and Erin quickly entered the room.
Her eyes looked to Ezra before looking at Erin. She then tilted her head to the side as if studying her.
"I am doctor Erin. Remember me?" Erin spoke to her as she moved closer.
She picked up her stethoscope reaching down to listen to Imagen's heart. Before she could make it to her chest, Imagen's hand quickly captured Erin's. Her eyes turned a pure red. Erin screamed out in pain while Imagen smiled a wicked smile.
"Did I say you could touch me, doc." Her voice came out more vile than I had ever heard it, shocking everyone in the room.
"Imagen, let her go." I said, making her eyes connect with me.
She slowly released Erins wrist. Once she was no longer in her grip Erin quickly stepped backwards. A red handprint imprinted on her wrist from where Imagen grabbed, burning her. "Erin, go take care of that."
"Yeah, better do what mommy says." Imagen then replied sarcastically while Erin scurried out of the room.
"Imagen, what is wrong with you, why are you acting this way?" I asked, making her laugh hysterically.
"I can suddenly speak again after the doctors said I would never speak and your question for me is what's wrong?" She said, looking between Ezra and I.
"I guess I am."
"I've been trapped for so long. It feels good to be set free. Mommy never did like this side of me, kept me hidden away. I don't know why. I am pretty damn great if I do say so myself." Her words sent a chill down my spine.
"Locked you away?" I asked, a little confused. "Imagen, what's going on?"
"Dear devil, stop calling me that awful name. I never did like it. Call me Lucy." She said as she stuck her hand out in front of her face.
"But your name is.. -"
"Lucy." She said again putting her hand down. "My name is Lucy... The service here is terrible, can't a girl get some food or what? I'm starved." She said with a sigh.
"Sure, food. I can get that." I replied not really knowing what else to say.
"Oh and some black finger nail polish. I clearly have not been taking good care of my nails. Look at these things!" She said dramatically as she stuck her unpolished hand out for me to see. "Food and black nail polish. Anything else?"
"That'll be all for now. Make sure you get me a rare juicy steak too. The bloodier, the better." She surprised me once again. Imagen was mostly vegan, she rarely ate red meat.
"Got it. We will be back, don't leave okay?" I said, looking at the girl sitting in the bed fiddling with the tv remote.
"Got nowhere else to be, for now at least." She said with a crooked smile.
Ezra and I walked out of the room in silence. When we were far enough from her, he spoke first.
"What the bloody hell happened back there?"
"I think we f****d up." I responded looking over to him with terror on my face.
"How?"
"I don't think that potion was only meant to hide her being a tribal wolf. I think we released something more. Something her mom didn't want out." I said, closing my eyes as I took in what we had just done. "So what does that mean for us?"
"I don't know. I am going to go get her the food, and the polish to keep her satisfied until I know exactly what we are dealing with in there. You go check on Erin, make sure she is okay. Imagen couldn't control her gifts, but this person. This version that calls herself Lucy, can. And for that, I don't know if she is dangerous." I said truthfully.
"Then you don't need to be alone with her." Ezra said in a worried tone.
"I am probably the only one who should be. Go check on Erin, I'll be okay."
"I don't like this one bit."
"Ezra, this isn't Imagen. Well it is, but it's not. And whatever we released is my fault. I need to be the one to fix it. Please just do what I ask and trust me."
"Fine. But I refuse to be too far away. She is dangerous, I can feel it."
"Thank you." I only replied.
I didn't want to tell him what I was truly thinking. Because truth be told, I felt it too. This was a darkness that overpowered her goodness. A darkness I wasn't even sure I could control.
Upon arriving back at the hospital, she was looking in the mirror at her reflection.
"I got the stuff you wanted." I said entering the room.
"I really have let myself go. That human mind really did a number on me. I mean look at this." She said lifting a beautiful brown strand of hair.
"I think it's gorgeous."
"Gag, no. I do however like your fiery red color. Makes you look badass. But red isn't my color. Well not for hair at least. You pull it off. But me, I need something that feels more like me. And this right here, isn't it." She said letting the strand fall before turning around to face me. "You're scared, I can sense it. Do I scare you queen?" She asked as she approached.
"No." I answered truthfully.
"That's good to know. Can't exactly have you afraid of the real me."
Her response sent another shiver down my spine. Fuck, what did I release?
