EZRA'S P.O.V

When I woke up, I was contained in a magical bondage that was wrapped tightly around my body.

"Good, you're awake." A voice I hadn't heard in what felt like ages said.

I looked up to see the one person I didn't expect standing before me.

"Liam, is that you? What are you doing here? Am I... Am I dea..."

"Goddess, your voice is annoying. No, unfortunately, you're not dead... Yet." He said with a shrug as he interrupted me.

"I don't understand. The last thing I remember was..."

"Falling to your inevitable death? You did. Or you were but I guess it was your lucky day. Iblis just couldn't allow it. As much as the man is irritating, he always has a plan. So here we are. You're alive and you will see your mate very soon."

What was that supposed to mean? Did they have Tegan too? I am a damn King and I couldn't even fight something already dead!

'Give yourself some grace, you can't fight something you can't touch. My wolf, Kingston said.

He had a point, we weren't exactly trained in the area of fighting the dead. That would change if we made it out of this battle alive. Even if I have to do major research, I would replace the right answers and train everyone. It looked like I'd have to anyway, with how many demons escaped.

"Where is my mate?" I asked, quickly getting myself out of my thoughts.

"Safe, if that's what you are worried about. Speaking of which, I am surprised she survived. I cut her deep, I was sure she'd bleed out."

His words were making me see red. I wanted to kill him all over again, but I knew I couldn't since the bastard was already dead. But that wouldn't stop me from trying! I could feel my body cracking as my wolf surged forward. Soon I hit the ground on all four paws but I couldn't move.

"Damn, I miss the feeling of shifting. You truly do take the life of a werewolf for granted while alive. At least I did. Once you die, your wolf is gone too. They're just no longer there and you rot in hell all alone. Anyway, you'll know the feeling I'm describing all too soon. It's too bad the magical bond that is holding you tight adjusts to your body type. Whatever you were planning to do is useless. You're useless."

His words were hitting too close to home. I've been feeling completely useless for a while now. I was a king with no real powers. I was strong, absolutely, but strong was in no comparison to the strength of power. There for a while, I was beginning to think some of Tegan's gifts were seeping into me. However, it appears I was wrong. Iblis must've been the one pulling me into those dreadful dreams all along.

"Looks like you'll be seeing your mate sooner than I anticipated." He said as he pulled the extra leverage of the bond to force my body forward. It was as if he were walking me on a leash, like a pet.

Soon Iblis came into view and then everything went black. I was put to sleep instantly because once I awoke again, Tegan and Iblis were battling and Tegan was not winning. She was on the ground and fear struck her face as he approached her. I started wiggling around trying to break free from this stupid hold. I knew that if Tegan couldn't win against him, I damn sure couldn't but I would give my life to protect hers. He walked forward and smacked her across the face so hard that her face moved in the same direction. A very angry and red handprint was visible on her cheek. A growl erupted from me, making me realize I was still in my wolf form.

"Hush that mutt up!" Iblis screamed out while I continuously fought against the magical hold.

As he moved forward to strike Tegan again, another figure blocked the way, sending Iblis's body flying across the room.

"Why don't you pick on someone who can actually take you? Stop picking on those who aren't as experienced as you." The body who I now recognized as Trystan said, hatefully.

"You, take me? Are you blind or are you just stupid, boy? When have you ever been able to take me?" Iblis asked with a hint of humor in his tone.

"I've never had reason to go all out on you," Trystan said as his eyes flared a red so deep that it sent shivers down my body.

I remained in wolf form, not wanting to miss a moment. Plus, when I do break free from this magical hold I would be more useful in this form than my human one. I hoped at least. An evil laugh made me snap my eyes back up to look at them again. "You think I'm scared of your little red eyes? Don't forget who made who powerful. Without me, you're nothing!" Iblis screamed, which only made Trystan smile with his lip raised.

"You should be scared. I am everything you never could be." Trystan's sleek, deep voice said.

"You aren't even the King of the dead, you'll never be a ruler like me. You'll never be as powerful as me. And you'll never be better than me." Iblis said as he raised his arms in the air.

Immediately random people began to come into view from every direction, as if he had summed them.

"You want a war, then a war you shall have." He then said with a laugh as the people got closer.

"You think they're your ticket to winning?" Trystan then asked.

"They could beat you with their eyes closed," Iblis spoke softly.

"Trystan there are too many. We didn't prepare for an all-out battle. We are outnumbered." Tegan said as she got off the ground.

"Too bad this all could have been avoided had you given me what was rightfully mine."

"She is a person, not some damn object for you to use. They're all people and they don't deserve to be toyed with as objects for your gain!" Tegan yelled angrily.

"Tomato-Tomato." He replied with a shoulder shrug. "I wanted my key, you wanted freedom. We couldn't compromise so here we are. Either way, I win. I'll have my key, and you'll all be dead. Therefore, there will be no closing of the gate. See how that benefits me so much more than a compromising exchange?" Iblis asked sarcastically.

"You were never going to let us live." Trystan spat out.

"On the contrary, I was considering it momentarily."

"What, so a demon could kill us later?"

"Precisely. No blood on my hands that way." He said with a chuckle.

"Everyone's blood is on your hands!" Tegan screamed angrily.

"Pish-posh. I am the Devil incarnate. What else would you expect."

"You're a warlock, claiming to be the devil, you're a nobody, like me," Trystan said as he lunged forward to attack his father.

"Invisique!" Iblis hollered out, instantly disappearing, but his voice could be heard in the shadows. "KILL THEM ALL!" He ordered his Tribal wolf warriors.

"Way to be a fucking coward!" Trystan screamed out as one of the humans lunged at him to attack.

I immediately started to fight against the magical hold even harder. They needed my help, they were outnumbered.

"INCENDIA!" I heard someone scream next to me.

I looked over to see the ghostly figure of Liam go blazing in flames. He screamed out as if it hurt him while he released his hold on Helena. She then rushed over to me. I was surrounded by the ghostly figures of my past. She then flicked her wrist sending them flying backwards as she began to chant unknown words while holding onto the leash of the magical bond. Soon it evaporated, freeing me from its hold.

"We have to help them!" She screamed at me, but I was already one step ahead.

I had already leaped into the air to take down one of the humans that were attacking Trystan.

"They started without the star of the party. How rude!" A familiar voice hollered out.

I looked up to see not only Lucy but also Uriah, along with several others coming to our aid, one of which included Marci. What had I missed, how was she alert? I then looked over at Lucy to see that her eyes were flaming red just like Trystan's as she began flinging bodies across the room. I could tell she was searching for someone because her eyes were scanning the area, but who was she looking for?
