Chasing My Rejected Luna -
Chapter 192
TEGAN'S
P.O.V
Most of the guests didn't know what to do. They had been lied to, but they weren't sure if it was purely accidental or not. Uriah was a well known ruler, whereas I was still considered fresh meat. Would the people side with him or with me? "This doesn't have to be a war. You can walk away now." I said, trying to reason with him, as I said I would do.
"The Kingdom is MINE!" He roared with a growl that ripped through the ballroom.
"The kingdom is my son's! It was never yours!"
"It should've always been mine. I was promised this! I followed every direction, from the sacrifice, to the dying. The throne belongs to me!" What the hell was he talking about?
"You shouldn't be here." I heard a feminine voice echo beside me.
I jerked to the side to see Lilly of all people standing there with a newfound confidence I had never seen before.
"Lilly?"
"Actually, the name is Kiera. The name Lilly made me sound so full of life. Yet my role was to be this damsel in distress. 'Make her trust you, Kiera', 'Bond with her, Kiera'. Blah-Blah-Blah. In the end it worked. I mean you brought me here." She said, gesturing to the palace. "Nobody cared to mess with a depressed newbie. No, everyone wanted to leave me be. But that was the perfect way to lay low while I snooped around. I didn't, however, expect to replace my mate. Especially him of all people. That pesky mate of mine just wouldn't give up. He refused to leave me alone. Which made going unnoticed harder. He figured my motive out, but by then, it was too late."
Why would he be okay with her addressing him as her 'pesky mate'? And how was it too late?
"Too bad you didn't see through my act sooner. It would've been a lot more fun for me." She then said when I didn't respond.
"But you were chained in the cellar with me for weeks."
"Had to fit the part. It was Liam's idea, I wasn't personally a fan but if it got us what we wanted, then why not?"
"Liam?" I asked, confused.
"Then the dumbass had to go and die." She paused for a response before talking again. "But that ended up being okay, because Lucy helped us."
"How did I possibly help?" She asked angrily.
"By opening the gates of hell, of course." Uriah responded while snapping his finger.
Suddenly, dust started spraying out of the sprinkler system instead of water.
"COVER YOUR MOUTH!" I screamed to Lucy.
"That's pointless, seeing how it absorbs through your skin, not just from inhaling it." She said as she blew a handful right in my face.
Way to fucking go, Tegan. Way to let them get the upper hand. I had expected there to be more dust, but this? This, I wasn't expecting in the slightest. The sprinkler system was a pretty smart move on their part.
I could hear the groans of everyone in the crowd. There were multiple Tribal Wolves attending in honor of Lucy and I. The dust wasn't made to only affect me, it was created to affect all who had powers.
"What is this made of?" I asked, feeling tingly.
"Only a special blend that Iblis gave us for you in particular. He used it against his little wolf hostages to keep them in line. At least until your brother decided to take control."
She still didn't answer my question. What was it?
"A mixture of Wormwood, a small amount of wolfsbane, and some properties that even I don't know." Kiera answered.
I couldn't believe that she fooled us. Here I thought she just needed space to heal, when in reality she was looking for anything to dethrone me. What a backstabbing bitch.
Luckily, I was prepared for the dust this time. I may not have known the composition of the herb, but I had the right mind to take a preventive before comin. I took my own herbs to help keep my human form's energy. It wasn't much but it would do. My powers were still temporarily taken, but that was okay. Made the fight an even playing field.
"You think that y'all can just come in and overthrow royalty?"
"You wished you were royalty. All you will ever be is that deaf wannabe."
Her words hit a trigger in me. Because on some level, that former person will always remain a part of me. A part I wished I could do away with, however, my past self is what shaped me into this version that I cherish now.
"I will always be that girl. But I am more than her. I am this Kingdom's Queen and a hit on my life will never change that."
I knew not to let their words get to me, but a small part of me would always have a weak side concerning who I used to be.
"You take care of her, I'll take on Uriah." Lucy said confidently.
"Absolutely not, Uriah is mine!" I yelled. "You take care of this fake ass barbie."
"Fake, maybe. But Barbie only wished she had my life." Kiera said, irritating me even further.
'NOW!' I mindlinked to the wolves underground, while also speaking to the crowd that was completely silent.
"FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT WISH TO FIGHT, LEAVE NOW. TO THOSE WHO WISH TO OPPOSE THEIR RIGHTFUL QUEEN, FIGHTING ALONGSIDE THIS TRAITOR TO THE THRONE THEN YOU WILL BEAR THE CONSEQUENCES. AND FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO DEFEND YOUR QUEEN, WE TAKE A STAND NOW!"
"We have more on our side than you might think." Kiera said just as Lucy lunged forward to attack. Her nasal bone crunched as Lucy's fist collided with it.
'Only fight those who are trying to harm others.' I then mindlinked to the group as they started emerging from all over.
Uriah was making a face that I could only describe as terrified.
'Dear Uriah, I'm coming for you.' I directly mindlinked to him as I made my way through the crowd in a zig-zagg motion.
Wolves were everywhere, chaos was erupting while a battle was actively occurring. From the corner of my eye I saw someone charging me, but with my training I managed to do a flip. My hands rested on top of their shoulders as my legs twirled over the top of their head. I used the force of my grip to slam the wolf to the ground, knocking them unconscious. Vicious howls were echoing all around the ballroom, along with the loud crunching sounds as bones began to break. The screams of everyone's pain rang through my ears while the sound of skin being ripped open could be heard. It sent a shiver running down my spine. I wanted to stop the violence, end the war. But in order for me to do so, I had to take down the one who started it.
"You think you can win again?" His sleek yet confident voice asked.
"I know that I will win." I responded even though I was a little confused about the 'again' part of his sentence.
"You may have won once, but a second time is unlikely, love."
Did he just call me 'love'? When has Uriah ever called me love?
My fist collided with his face as his fist pounded into the stomach. He drew his arm back once more to hit, but I had managed to block him.
"Did you enjoy the dust? Can't shift, can't use those powers. You're as useless of a Queen as Ezra was a King."
"Not completely." I said as I pulled my own special blend of herbs from my pocket, tossing the contents in his face.
He howled out in pain when the wolfsbane laced with silver nitrate connected with his face.
"YOU BITCH! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!"
He charged forward, his hand looping around my neck as he pushed my body back on the ground.
"I'll take my time, allow only small portions of air to seep in. Tightening my grip around your throat, to where you can't breathe any longer. Then when you're close to fainting from the lack of oxygen, I'll pull that head right off your little body. Staking it out front so everyone knows I am the rightful ruler!"
This behavior didn't sound like Uriah. Fear coursed through me once again.
"I SAID I TECT MOMMA!"
The voice of my toddler screamed. Why was he here!? He couldn't be here!
"GO AWAY BOOBOO MAN!" Elias screamed, placing his hand on Uriah's back.
His eyes went jet black while black smoke shot out from his nose, ears, and mouth. What the f**k just happened?
