EZRA'S P.O.V

I already knew she was special. But seeing ghosts is a different form than even I could comprehend. She got into explaining everything along with how the Moon Goddess told her she would receive at least two gifts, as her mother did before her. She hadn't mentioned the depths of her wolf though. I felt kind of bad for knowing more about it than she did. Once she was done explaining how she had more gifts than even her mother, she then went onto telling what she was able to accomplish in a short amount of time. When she was done, her eyes shot up to me expecting me to be surprised.

"Why aren't you shocked?"

"Some of them did take me by surprise. I didn't know you could have more than two gifts and I definitely didn't know spiritual was one of them." I replied honestly.

"What do you mean by more than two gifts. How did you know I had any?"

"Well, I wasn't sure of it. Helena had just said you were destined to be a Tribal wolf like your mother and possess at least two powerful gifts blessed by the Moon Goddess."

"Helena knew?" She asked confused.

"Your mother begged her to keep your identity a secret."

"She never even thought that I should probably know?"

"I can't answer that for her. All I know is she made an oath to your mother that she stuck to until she no longer could." I said honestly.

"So, Helena knew about me all along?"

"I did." The soft voice said echoing from the doorway.

"And you never thought that this was something I should know?" Tegan asked looking over to where Helena stood.

"It was hard keeping it from you. Especially when your powers were manifesting. But it was safer."

"For whom, you or me?"

"You, of course."

"Then why didn't you tell me before I left? I should have known if I was no longer safe."

"I didn't have time. I found out you were leaving only moments before you did." Helena said.

"You could have told me while we were packing."

"You wouldn't have understood Tegan."

"It could have helped me, Helena." Tegan said before speaking again. "What's a Tribal wolf anyhow?"

I somehow forgot momentarily that she was sheltered from learning about the wolf tribes. Pack members learn of the tribes early on with their basic wolf studies. But Tegan's father refused to allow her to study anything at all regarding wolves. So much could have helped her before today if her father gave her the proper trainings or even if I took her trainings more seriously.

"It's a special wolf. Like you and your mother."

"What's special about us other than having gifts?"

"Your blood harbors a protection against the vampires. It also can heal any wounded species aside from vampires. A single drop can cure even the sickest. Your blood is priceless, anyone who knows of it will seek it." Helena explained. "But mom died."

"She did."

"How did her blood or even my blood not save her?" Tegan Asked.

"Because Helga cased an irreversible spell, the deadliest of them in all of magic, light and dark. The spell was destined to kill one of you. The only way to save one life was to protect the other. She chose to die to save you." "So, it was my fault." Tegan said as tears began to free fall.

"No. It was Helga's. But the choice was your moms. She would do anything to protect you, you must know that." Helena tried explaining.

Just then the door opened cutting the conversations short. Erin walked in going straight to Elias then to Tegan. Apparently not sensing the tension in the air. She began to examine Tegan's abdomen.

"Good news! We are ready to go. Elias is doing amazing, and Tegan's wound is healed enough to mobilize." Erin said looking up, her face scrunching up. "That's good news Tegan. Why such a gloomy look?" "You're right, it is good news. Thanks Doc." Tegan replied.

"Perfect, I will go ready to van so it's ready for Elias." Erin said as she walked out.

Tegan then looked at Helena.

"This conversation is not over, it's only on hold." She said before standing up and walking across the room. "There is one more thing I must do before we leave." She said as she slid some pants on that Erin had brought in earlier. "What's that?" I asked.

"I need to free Lilly from that horrid dungeon. She will be coming with us to the Kingdom. I refuse to leave her with these god-awful people." Tegan said as she slipped on the remaining of her clothes.

I mind linked Uriah to meet us at the dungeon as we left the hospital. Helena remained back with Elias. Tegan then grabbed multiple torches at the entryway. When we entered the most disgusting smell filled my nostrils making the breakfast I ate resurface. We walked for a bit when Uriah finally broke the silence.

"Do you guys smell that?"

"Yeah, it's fucking disgusting." I replied.

"Well yeah, but the other scent lingering with it, the scent of like chocolate."

"I don't smell anything other than shit and decompensation." I said honestly.

We made our way down until the torch lit up a small cell with a trembling malnourished girl cowering in the back.

"Get away from me!" The girl screamed.

"It's okay Lilly. It's me. I am here to get you out." Tegan said softly.

"Tegan?" She said, her voice cracking.

"I told you I would save you from this place." Tegan said as she entered the cell. The girl named Lilly then threw herself at Tegan crying.

"I thought he was going to kill you!" She cried out. "I thought I lost my only friend." Her voice said breaking some more.

"Never." Tegan replied while patting her head in a soothing manner. "Let's get the hell out of this shit hole." Tegan said as she broke the chains from Lilly. Hissing out as the silver burned her.

Lilly stood but her knees buckled too weak to walk.

"I'll carry her!" Uriah nearly screamed out. Their eyes connected as fear struck across Lilly's face.

"NO.NO.NO.NO" She kept repeating as she backed off.

"It's okay, he won't hurt you. He is here to help save you." Tegan tried consoling her. However, she wouldn't stop shaking her head terrified.

"Uriah, go to the van. We've got this." I said, his eyes glossing over as his wolf Jace surged forward.

"But..." He tried saying.

"I know bud. But right now, she's terrified. Give her time, okay?" I said understanding exactly how he was feeling. Lilly was his mate; I could see the recognition without him saying it aloud. He hesitated before storming away.

"Lilly, I am Alpha King Ezra of the realm. Would it be okay if I carried you? Tegan has hardly recovered from surgery, or she would be the logical person."

Tegan nodded her head at her before Lilly finally agreed.

"Okay, let's go home." I said as I picked up Lilly's body.
