Chasing My Rejected Luna -
Chapter 82
EZRA'S P.O.V
Christmas is around the corner, and I have nothing to show for it. I have the slightest idea what to get Tegan. Elias however, is only a few months old, he is easy. He likes singing toys that light up, bathtime, and chewing on stuff. But Tegan? She was hard for me to shop for. She isn't a materialistic girl. You would think that coming from nothing to coming into everything would change her character. But she was still the same girl that entered my dining hall several months back. Except she was more fierce, more in tune with herself. That was far more sexy than the timid girl that sat across from me on the first day at dinner. The very same girl that didn't even know she could make the most s****l sounds by something as innocent and little as eating good food. Sometimes I miss the timid girl that was undeniably submissive in every way, but this new version somehow turned me on even more. You would think being an Alpha that I would prefer a submissive female, but a little rough housing and dominance in the bedroom never hurt anybody. I wondered what she was like in bed now that she was no longer the submissive and timid girl that she once was.
A slight knock on the door took me out of my thoughts. I looked across the folders on my desk at the door.
"Enter." I said just as the door creaked open revealing my mother.
"Hello dear." Her melodic voice spoke out.
She then took a seat opposite of me with a folder of her own in her hand.
"What's that?" I asked as I ran my hand through my beard, something I did so often I hardly even noticed I did anymore.
"The Winter Ball information." She said as she slid the folder across the table to me.
"And?" I asked, opening the file to see what was within it.
"Well it is set for Christmas Eve, which is in two weeks." She said again.
"What is the issue mother, you seem to be beating around the bush."
"With you still being married and your wife now living in the kingdom, it is no longer my duty to prepare and plan for these formal events. I wasn't sure you took that into account." She said, eyeing me.
"Mother, you know as well as I do that she doesn't see herself as the Queen and she has only focused on training."
"I know."
"So, why would she know anything about the planning of the Winter Ball?"
"That is my point. Maybe you can help her."
"I know nothing of planning." I said.
"I am going to go visit your aunt, this gives you the perfect excuse to ask for Tegan's insight. When she tries to say you have me, I won't be here. Leaving her to be your only help. She will feel the need to assist. Especially when she notices you have no idea how to plan a ball. She however, had training, not much but she has an eye that speaks for itself."
"She hasn't really been around since we returned from her home, just throwing herself into training." I said, sorrowfully.
"A reason you need to spend time together. The Winter Ball is the biggest ball in the Kingdom, it takes a lot of time to prepare and plan. Two weeks is not nearly what you will need. But it will do."
"I have work to do, mother. I can't drop my work to plan the ball."
"Uriah has already agreed to take up the duties in your absence. All you need to do is focus on planning. Talk to her, Ezra. The only way to mend what's broken is time. You both have had time, now it's time to focus on fixing what is broken. You can't fix the broken pieces if you never spend time together to get past what happened."
"I tried with that four day getaway."
"To a place where she was hurt the most. You were never going to fix the pieces you shattered while taking her to a place where her heart was originally spider webbed cracked to begin with."
She was right, of course that was an awful plan. I had only been thinking about being alone. I knew she had a rough upbringing and the only thing I could think of was being together, alone. "You're right." I finally said after a moment of thinking.
"I leave tonight. Talk to her, son." She said as she stood up, exiting the room.
I sat there thinking about all the things I had to do now that mom was leaving. I wasn't sure that Tegan would be willing to help, all I could do was hope that she would feel sorry for my predicament and offer her assistance because without it, I was f****d. I got up from my desk to go replace Tegan. It was her training day and I knew they would be out in the forest.
I made my way down to the forest. As I entered the treeline I could hear the wind howling as the dirt flew up everywhere in a sand storm type of blizzard. The dirt was making it hard to see in front of me. However, I could hear the screaming in the distance. "YOU HAVE TO PUSH HARDER!"
"AHHHH!!!" A female voice hollered.
"Better. Good, good. Keep it up." I could hear praises from Tanner.
As I neared I could see Fredrick hoisted in the air by the tree limbs, very similar to how she had her dad suspended in the air. Choking on the dirt as it spiraled around.
He started tapping the air as if tapping out. Tegan released her hold on Fredrick as his body slowly came down.
"Your turn. I'm done being choked for the day." Fredrick said as he looked over, noticing me first. "Alpha King." He said making Tegan and Tanner then look over.
"I can take over. I don't mind a little choking." I said, with a wink.
"That's okay, we are just finishing up." Tegan said, grabbing her bag from the ground.
"Fredrick, Tanner. You can go." I said, not looking away from Tegan.
They walked away without looking back, leaving Tegan and I alone.
"What is it you want now, Ezra."
"To train, what else?"
"There is always something else." She spat sassily.
"Okay, maybe there is something. But I do want to see what you've got." "You're not ready for what I've got." She spat out sassier than before.
"Try me." I replied challengingly.
She dropped her bag as her eyes turned red on command.
"Very nice, you can pull it forward fast." I said with a smile
"Doesn't take much when the face that helps is right in front of me."
"Ouch." I said dramatically while placing my hand over my chest on my heart.
"I've been waiting for this for a while." She said, cockily.
"Oh yeah, so are you ready?"
"The real question is, are you?" She asked, with a twisted smile.
