Chapter 93: Blessings

1/4

Chloe had made up her mind to leave. Michael had forced her to stay here, but now that his hold on her was gone, she didn’t want to stay another second.

“No need, I’ve found a place to stay. And don’t call me Mrs. Shawn anymore.”

Once in the car, Chloe finally had a moment to glance at the agreement Michael had just signed..

He didn’t just give her a house; he promised her money and even transferred ownership of Lotus Manor to her.

Chloe had made up her mind–she wasn’t going back to Lotus Manor.

Just the sight of it made her uneasy. If he actually transferred ownership of Lotus Manor to her, she’d sell it off in a heartbeat.

When Chloe arrived at the house she had bought, she was surprised to replace not only Candy there, but also Quinn, who lived across the street.

Seeing her enter, Candy rushed over and grabbed her arm.

“I ran into Quinn on my way over, so I brought him along.”

She finished speaking and pushed Chloe next to Quinn. They

were close, almost touching.

Chloe knew exactly what she was up to, but she was in a good. mood today, so she let it slide.

She ordered a ton of food, ready to throw a party at home.

“All this furniture is new. What if we mess it up? That’d be a real shame.”

“No worries. Michael wired me a ton of cash; it’ll hit my account tomorrow. If the furniture gets messed up, I’ll just replace it all.”

Chloe ordered a ton of drinks. After downing a few bottles, the three of them were pretty tipsy.

Quinn glanced at Chloe sitting beside him, her cheerful smile lighting up the space between them. A once–empty part of his heart felt suddenly full, sparking a thrill inside him.

Candy noticed something off in his eyes and decided to nudge. him into talking more with Chloe.

“Let’s play Truth or Dare!”

Chloe rolled her eyes with a grin. “We play this game every single time. Can’t you think of something new?

“You don’t get it. The more classic the game, the more fun it is. Come on, don’t waste time!”

Candy pulled them along; Chloe and Quinn couldn’t resist.

After a few rounds of games, everyone started to loosen up.

The bottle stopped in front of Chloe. Quinn finally got his

chance. “So, you got divorced. Happy about it?”

Chloe squinted and nodded. “Sure, I’m happy.”

She was so happy she could hardly contain herself.

Candy frowned, “Seriously? That question sucks. How’s that even a Truth?”

Even if he didn’t ask, she could tell Chloe was thrilled.

Quinn stayed silent.

In the next round of the game, the bottle pointed straight at Quinn.

Candy rarely gets a chance to ask him questions.

“Got any heartfelt words for Chloe? Maybe a blessing?”

Quinn glanced at her, realizing she was trying to help him. For a moment, he felt a bit nervous.

Running into Candy today caught him off guard, but it didn’t really stir up much else.

When she mentioned Chloe had signed the divorce papers today and was coming over to celebrate, and asked if he wanted to join.

them, his heart nearly stopped with excitement.

He kept his feelings for Chloe buried deep, too scared to let them show.

Not only because she was still married, but also because he was scared of freaking her out.

He waited patiently, and finally, she got divorced. Now he could openly confess his feelings for her.

He’d been psyching himself up for this game for what felt like

ages.

His heart pounded like a drum, his breath quick and ragged.

Quinn stared at Chloe, her eyes a bit glazed. After what felt like forever, he finally said, “Good luck with your new life!”
