Love at the Door -
Chapter 39
Chapter 39
Melissa didn’t notice the victorious look in Andrew’s eyes.
Her mind was a complete mess, and she couldn’t focus.
She rushed to Andrew’s side, instinctively grabbing his sleeve in confusion. Andrew didn’t push ner away.
At that moment, some reporters started to gather around. After all, it was big news that the heir of the Wentworth family got into a car
accident.
Many noticed Melina tugging at Andrew’s sleeve, and their thoughts
ran wild.
For years, Andrew was only rumored to be with Linda. No other woman was able to get close to him. They wondered who this
woman was.
A bold reporter quickly snapped a photo. However, he was cautious enough only to capture Melina’s back, as he dared not take a picture of her face.
They knew Andrew didn’t mind being in the news, but they weren’t sure if he wanted to be in the news together with this woman.
Andrew was known as the Demon Lord, and they were merely reporters. They didn’t want to gamble their lives over this. Other reporters seemed to have the same thoughts.
The reporters dispersed after the ambulance left.
Once inside the ambulance, Melina saw that there was only a doctor
in a white coat.
The doctor quickly examined Andrew’s injuries and sighed in relief.” Andrew, it’s not too bad. You’ve got some glass shards stuck in your
3/1
back that need to be removed at the hospital.”
Melina’s heart tightened at the sound of this.
Andrew hummed in response.
Suddenly, the doctor leaned in toward Melina. “Hello, Mrs. Wentworth, I’m Toby Ludwig, Andrew’s friend.”
His sudden closeness startled Melina. Her mind was entirely focused on Andrew, and she wasn’t in the mood to engage.
After all, she hadn’t been fond of the people she met at Andrew’s last gathering. But this guy called her “Mrs. Wentworth,” and Andrew didn’t
correct him.
Melina looked at Andrew, her big eyes filled with confusion.
Andrew casually explained, “He knows about our marriage.”
Only then did Melina greet Toby, saying, “Hello, Dr. Ludwig.”
Toby gave her a warm smile as he curiously sized her up. So, this was Andrew’s special woman.
He had seen photos during the investigation, but meeting her in person was completely different.
She seemed so pure, like a clear mountain stream.
No wonder Andrew found peace with her.
Soon, they arrived at Peace Hospital.
Melina was surprised to see that the hospital room looked almost exactly like Andrew’s bedroom.
Toby chuckled. “Don’t be surprised, Mrs. Wentworth. This is Andrew’s private hospital room.”
Melina tensed up immediately. “Why does he need a private hospital room? Is he sick?”
Chapter 19
Toby was momentarily at a loss for words. He couldn’t bring up
Andrew’s insomnia. If she knew the full story, it could lead to bigger issues.
He quickly changed the subject, “Ahem, just some minor health issues that have been taken care of. Let’s focus on removing the glass shards for now.”
Melina looked at Andrew’s bloodied back. Her mind was too preoccupied to ask more questions.
Andrew’s back and arms were covered in wounds, while she was completely unharmed.
In that brief moment during the crash, he had protected her entirely.
Toby prepared the medical tools and started removing the glass shards from Andrew’s back.
The process caused the wounds to tear further, and blood quickly soaked through most of Andrew’s shirt.
