Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1004: Be sure to intercept

Since ordering that batch of herbs, John has been looking for an opportunity to try and salvage the partnership with Bergerian. He asked Pierce to contact Bergerian's people, but the response was that Bergerian did not want to see him at the moment. "Mr John, do we have to work with Bergerian?"

Pierce, who had already hit a few nails in the head, was already angry with the Bergerian team and hated the idea of not working together.

John turned his head and stared at him coldly, "Without cooperation, what do you think we can research on our own?"

Pierce was left speechless.

Almost all of the world's best virus researchers are with Bergerian, and they really have to rely on the Bergerian team to work on the drugs they want. Only by working together now can we achieve mutual benefits.

It was with this in mind that John thought of salvaging his relationship with Bergerian.

"No, I have to go to Bergerian myself," John said.

"I've heard that Bergerian has been in Italy lately, maybe we can have someone investigate where he's landed." Pierce suggested.

"Then don't go." John ordered in a stern voice.

"I'm on my way."

Pierce hurriedly turned around and went out.

John narrowed his eyes, no matter what, this time he must resume his cooperation with Bergerian.

Soon Pierce found out where Bergerian had landed, and he quickly reported it to John.

John immediately led the way to the hotel where Bergerian was staying.

Seeing John again, Bergerian's face did not look good, "Mr John, I thought I had made it very clear, but I didn't expect you to be so unfazed." He has said several times that he does not want to see John again and will not work with SA again.

But apparently, this John couldn't understand human speech.

"Mr Bergerian, I beg your pardon for coming uninvited."

John had a pleasing smile piled on his face, "The main reason I came this time was to tell you that I have reordered a batch of herbs." "Oh?" Bergerian raised an eyebrow, "Re-order?"

He bit off those four words with particular emphasis.

But John didn't hear it and said with a smile, "Yeah, I ordered it from Mr Farabee just a while ago."

"Mr Farabee?"

"Just a herb dealer, partner of that Mr Hector from before."

"The same herbs?" Bergerian asked.

John nodded busily, "Well, same."

Bergerian thought for a moment, then asked, "Why do you suddenly want to work with me again?"

"Well ..."

Bergerian interrupted with a sneer, "I'm afraid that with your group's current level of research, you won't be able to research anything."

John, who had been poked in the gut, laughed dryly, "You're right, the SA Group really isn't very good at research."

"And do you think I'll agree to work with you again?" Bergerian stared at him coldly.

"I ..." John's forehead broke out in a cold sweat.

He was obviously the head of a group, but his aura was still short and a little intimidating in front of Bergerian.

"Don't know how to answer that, do you?" A sneer curled the corner of Bergerian's mouth, "You're thinking I need that batch of herbs to be so brave as to want to continue working together." "Still Mr Bergerian is great, he saw it right away." John lost a smile on his face.

"And how do you know I don't have those herbs?"

The smile on John's face froze instantly when Bergerian said that.

Yes, how could he have forgotten to consider this?

Mr Hector had previously said that someone had offered a higher price for the herbs, and now it seems that his initial suspicions were correct.

"So you have the herbs?" John asked tentatively.

Bergerian didn't answer directly, "What do you think?"

He turned around, "John, if you're smart enough, you shouldn't be playing games in front of me."

John frowned, "Mr Bergerian, what do you mean by that?"

Bergerian smiled coldly, "Is it true that the herbs you have are reordered?"

"Of course it is. I still have the order list on my side."

John hurriedly asked Pierce to bring the list.

"You can see it." He handed it to Bergerian.

Bergerian casually scanned the list, his eyes flickered slightly when he saw the date on it, then said without changing his face, "I still need to think about what you said, go back and wait for my answer." Although he didn't say yes straight away, there was hope when he said he would consider it.

John nodded hastily, "Yes, I'll wait for your good news."

Having said that, he led the way.

Bergerian looks out of the window with a thoughtful expression.

If John's herbs were really reordered, what happened to the batch that was investigated earlier.

He turned his head to his subordinate at the door and ordered, "Have Hall come to see me."

...

As soon as Hall learned that Bergerian wanted to see him, he went immediately.

"Mr Bergerian, what can I do for you?"

Once in front of Bergerian, he bowed his head respectfully.

"Hall," Bergerian stared at him with an expressionless face.

"In."

"Earlier you investigated a batch of herbs hidden in another warehouse of SA Group, do you remember this?"

With his head bowed Hall's eyes flickered slightly as he returned calmly, "Remember."

"But today John came to me and said he had reordered another batch of herbs. What do you think about this?"

Hall's heart thumped, wondering if it was just his own fault, why did it feel like there was something tentative in his tone? He looked up, met Bergerian's gaze and said matter-of-factly, "I have no opinion."

Bergerian smiled, "You're honest."

"He reordered the herbs and came to you, presumably because he wanted to continue working with you." Hall said.

"You're right." Bergerian nodded, "So do you think I should say yes?"

"We need herbs for our research."

One sentence says it all.

Bergerian reached out and put a hand on his shoulder, "Hall, I believe you, but you better not betray me, you should know very well what will happen to you if you betray me. I don't want to see you end up like that." Hall didn't show his face, "Mr Bergerian don't worry, I won't betray you."

Bergerian gave a satisfied smile, "Go about your business."

After Hall left, Bergerian looked sombre.

He did suspect Hall.

If the SA Group really hid the herbs privately, how did they dare to come to themselves?

But that doesn't preclude John from having a thick enough skin.

In any case, research is now stalled and a number of problems have been encountered, herbs being one of them.

Now that someone has brought the herbs to his door, how can he refuse?

...

At this point, Hector at home received word that Bergerian had resumed cooperation with the SA Group.

This was to be expected from Hector.

"Have the herbs arrived yet?" Hector asked the person on the other end of the phone.

"Not yet. This time it's gone by sea, not so fast."

Hector narrowed his eyes, "Make sure you replace a way to intercept it so it doesn't get to Italy." "Understood."

Hector hung up the phone, his expression icy, the corners of his mouth pursed into a straight line.

Since it was possible to get Bergerian and SA Group to fail to work together before, the same applies this time.
