Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1005: You don't deserve to know
Rowson took a full week off with Bergerian's permission before rejoining the research team.
This time, he made it into Professor Curry's group.
Professor Curry's group specialises in novel viruses and also works on drugs to combat them.
He finally got what he wanted.
Walking into the lab, Rowson looked around at the familiar lab equipment and couldn't contain his excitement.
But not a single word of it shows on his face.
"Professor Curry."
In front of Professor Curry, his face was flat as water and his gaze was calm as he looked straight at the other man.
Professor Curry gave him a faint sweep and turned his head to the men around him, "Today's task is to re-culture the virus and observe its activity." He ignored Rowson as if Rowson didn't exist.
Rowson also stood his ground without irritation or anger.
At that moment, Katerina walked in and saw him standing motionless and her eyebrows knitted.
"What is this you are doing?" She asked out loud as she walked up to Rowson.
Rowson gave her a look and calmly returned, "Waiting for Professor Curry to assign the task."
At that, Katerina turned her head to Professor Curry, who was talking to the others, and a gloating smile curled her lips, "He's ignoring you, isn't he?" Rowson's eyes flickered slightly and he didn't answer.
Katerina wrapped her arms around her chest and shook her head, "You're clearly making a fool of yourself. You should know very well that Professor Curry is a defensive man and he must have hated you when you fought with George the other day.
You're really not brainy enough to apply to Mr Bergerian to come to his group."
Rowson listened quietly and didn't retort, because she was right.
Professor Curry is giving him a piece of his mind and letting him know who is in charge at this institute.
Seeing that he didn't say anything, a wave of nameless anger welled up in her, Katerina took a deep breath and held it back, "If you don't want to look too bad, get yourself out."
Rowson lowered his eyes, looked at her coldly and said, word for word, word for word, "There's no way I'm getting out."
He had applied to the group with great difficulty, and there was no way he could leave without getting the drug that would eradicate the virus from Eloise's body.
It was because she knew exactly what he had in mind that Katerina was all fired up, and she lowered her voice and said through gritted teeth, "I don't know what was so good about that woman that made you go this far." "You don't deserve to know how good she is."
Rowson gave her a cold glance and struck out towards Professor Curry before she could get angry.
Bloody men!
Katerina turned her head and glared at him with hatred, wanting to glare a hole in his back.
As Rowson came over, Professor Curry glanced out of the corner of his eye and his face, which had been wearing a smile, instantly went cold.
"Professor Curry," Rowson said, stopping his feet two paces away.
Professor Curry pretended not to hear and turned his head to prepare to speak to someone else.
Seeing this, Rowson hurriedly spoke up, "Professor Curry, Mr Bergerian asked me to join your group, you can ask me anything."
Is this holding Bergerian over itself?
Professor Curry narrowed his eyes and turned his head, his gaze sharply on Rowson, "I wouldn't dare command you with that big frame of yours, lest I suffer the pain of skin too."
A tone of mockery.
Rowson was not impressed, smiled lightly and said, "I was too impulsive the other day, and I ask Professor Curry to have the grace not to take it personally."
Professor Curry did not speak with a cold face.
Rowson looked at the others and continued, "We all play for Mr Bergerian, I hope we can be friendly and let bygones be bygones."
He was a young man who could say such things, so if I were to treat him with that kind of attitude again, wouldn't I look like I had a small heart.
After much thought, Professor Curry reluctantly said, "You're right, let bygones be bygones, what matters is the research. And it's important that we can all work with each other."
It was enough for Rowson to know that Professor Curry didn't necessarily mean it when he said it, but it was enough for him.
It doesn't matter how low one's stance is as long as he can join the study.
Katerina watched the scene with a sneer in her brow.
Rowson, the man, doesn't even have a backbone for a woman.
What a bummer!
She grunted coldly, turned and marched away.
...
Early in the morning Eloise wakes up and Hector is no longer there.
She sat up and looked around and didn't see Hector in sight.
A fine brow furrowed, where had he gone so early in the morning?
After washing up and coming downstairs, I caught a glimpse of Hector sitting in the living room talking to Baggott. She hurried over to it.
"Good morning, brother-in-law." She began with a good-natured shout.
Baggott flashed an affectionate smile, "Good morning, Eloise."
Eloise smiled and walked over to sit next to Hector and asked in a small voice, "What are you doing up so early?"
Didn't he stay late last night because he was busy at work?
"Can't sleep."
He barely slept all night thinking about Bergerian and the virus, and simply got up at dawn.
Eloise saw the obvious bruises and blackness under his eyes and said distressingly, "Why don't you go back to sleep later after breakfast?"
"No need." Hector curled his lips and said in a soft, soothing voice, "I'm fine, don't you worry."
Faintly overhearing their conversation, Baggott asked with concern, "What's the matter, is Hector not feeling well?"
Eloise looked up at him and smiled, "No, it's just that he hasn't slept well."
Baggott laughs, "So that's it. Go and have a nap later then, you won't be in good spirits all day if you haven't slept well."
Hector wanted to say it wasn't necessary, but seeing how worried Eloise looked, he nodded, "Okay. I'll be upstairs in a minute." Eloise finally smiled, "Still, my brother-in-law's word works."
"Is that so?" Baggott laughed out a little flattered.
After breakfast, Eloise and Brimlad went out to the mall while Hector went to his room to rest.
"We'll go clothes shopping first, then we'll buy a present for your second uncle." Brimlad had the itinerary down pat.
Eloise smiled and nodded, "All at my brother-in-law's beck and call."
Once at the mall, Brimlad dragged Eloise straight to the women's wear floor and went from counter to counter.
Let Eloise try them on if she sees something that fits.
Eloise somehow felt like a puppet on a string, trying on clothes when her sister-in-law told her to, even if they didn't fit her.
Finally, she was helpless, "Auntie, I don't want to try on any more, so just buy a random one."
Brimlad disagreed, "No, you have to try them on so you know which ones fit."
She looked at it and picked out a long silvery green dress from the pile and gave it to her. "Try this one."
Eloise ducked her head in frustration and resigned herself to taking the dress into the fitting room.
