Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1007: He's already my husband
At Eloise's insistence, the tea set was paid for by herself.
Earlene felt a bit overwhelmed and suggested, "It's getting late, let me buy you lunch." "This..." Eloise looked to Brimlad.
Brimlad gave her a look and readily agreed, "Sure."
Eloise naturally knew what Brimlad was thinking and couldn't help but lose a little smile.
Earlene saw Brimlad agree and raised her lips in a smile, "Come on then, I know where to eat nearby."
Brimlad looked at her with a satisfied look on his face, "Then I'll trouble you."
Earlene leads them to a private restaurant not far away.
"This is the restaurant I've been coming to since I was a kid, and the chef is fantastic, as you'll see when you've eaten."
Earlene breezed inside the restaurant, with Eloise and Brimlad following behind.
"It's a really nice setting."
Entering the box, Eloise couldn't help but give a compliment.
The antique decor is light and quiet, and looking out of one of the side windows, you can see the garden with its pools and rockeries reflecting brilliantly in the light of the sun. "As you like."
Once seated, Earlene pushed the menu in front of them and asked them to order.
Brimlad left the ordering to Eloise and chatted with Earlene.
"Miss Earlene, how old are you?"
"Auntie, you can just call me Earlene." Earlene smiled and said, "I'm the same age as Eloise."
At that, Eloise looked up with a few moments of surprise, "You're the same age as me?"
"Well, just as big." Earlene picked up her tea from the table, dropping her eyes smoothly to hide the flash of a different light under them.
They are the same age, but she is married to Hector and has two lovely children, while she is alone, and the man she likes is married.
"So, do you have a boyfriend?" Brimlad asked again, not seeing the difference in Earlene.
"No." Earlene put down her cup of tea, "I don't want to be in a relationship at the moment."
By adding this, she was simply trying to break Brimlad's mind.
Because she knew that Brimlad was Edgar's mother.
It must be said that they are truly mother and son, with the same vision.
Brimlad's brow locked in disapproval at her words, "It's not good for girls to fall in love and get married too late. Look at Eloise, she's your age, she's married and has children, you need to get a grip too." Earlene looked at Eloise and guffawed, "The guy I like is married, so ..."
She shrugged her shoulders and continued, "I'm really in no hurry, let's wait until it's fate."
"You have a crush on someone?" Brimlad was instantly intrigued and pursued the question, "And what was he like?"
She had to ask to replace out if her son had a chance.
Earlene should have felt uncomfortable being hounded like this, but she actually broke down and talked about the person she liked.
"He was a wonderful, wonderful man, from a privileged family and a good-looking man. But what attracted me most was his great ability to expand the family business territory several times over when he was only in his twenties." Although she knew Earlene was talking about a man she liked, Eloise couldn't help but associate the man she was talking about with Hector.
Because Hector is such an awesome guy too.
Even Brimlad couldn't resist blurting out, "Isn't that Hector you're talking about?" when he heard it.
A quick flash of panic crossed Earlene's eyes and she hastily explained with a smile, "No, not Mr Hector, I was talking about the other guy. Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but that's how good he is in my eyes." Brimlad smiled apologetically, "Sorry, I thought you were talking about Hector, after all, Hector is married too."
"How can that be?" Earlene glanced at Eloise and laughed, "Eloise and I are good friends, how could I possibly like Mr Hector?"
At that, Eloise looked up at her and teased, "It's fine, it's fine if you like it, he's already my husband anyway."
The implication is that even if she likes it more, she won't get anyone.
Perhaps not expecting her to say that, the smile on Earlene's face froze momentarily and quickly returned, "Eloise, what are you talking about? Really."
She looked to Brimlad and confessed in mock displeasure, "Auntie, look, how can there be such a silly girl as Eloise? How dare she offer to ask someone to like her husband."
"She's got a lot of faith in Hector to say that." Brimlad said with a grin.
"Is that so?" The smile on Earlene's lips became a little forced.
Fearing that it would reveal her mind, she turned the conversation around and inquired, "Eloise, have you ordered yet?"
Eloise nodded, "Mmm, well. Let's see what else you guys want to eat."
She gave the menu to Earlene.
"It's up to you."
Earlene called out to the waiter and reported each of Eloise's orders as they came in.
"Is that all?" The waiter asked.
"Well, that's all."
The waiter had a polite smile on his face, "Just a moment, then."
When the waiter went out, Earlene spoke up and asked, "Eloise, didn't you guys go back to City J, why are you here in Kyoto again so soon?"
"Something came up with Hector, so we came over." Eloise returned gently.
Earlene nodded, "I ran into Mr Hector at the Khan Group yesterday."
"Yesterday?" Eloise froze, then responded, "Oh, he was at the Khan Group yesterday."
"Eloise," the Upper Officer mused for a moment, as if unintentionally, "as you know now we have three companies working together to create a new company, but Mr Hector has left everything in the hands of Mr Edgar and me, and to be honest, that's really not good."
When she heard this, Eloise was embarrassed, she couldn't explicitly say that Hector was doing everything for her, it would seem like Hector was not responsible.
