Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1012: I think you've got the wrong person

Winchell caught it in his hands, looked down and paled slightly when he saw his name, but quickly returned to his normal self and asked calmly, "Is there anything wrong with me declaring my exit?" Edgar laughs, "No problem."

"So what did you bring me in for? I could have sued you for kidnapping." Winchell took a matter-of-fact stance.

"I don't remember the Boddy family being involved in anything to do with herbs, how did you get into the herb export business, changed your career?"

"I ..." Winchell was clearly a little flustered, "Do I still need to report to you about what business I do?"

Edgar ignored him and read out the list of exports in his hand, "Western Ouzo, a pint of red ..."

He reads from a number of rare herbs.

Even if the Khan Group was in the herbal business, it would be difficult to get such a large quantity of these herbs, but the fact that he was not in the herbal business and got such a large quantity would make people suspicious. Winchell's heart trembled with each herb name he pronounced, and finally, he couldn't take it anymore before he said, "I'm helping people file, it's not my own business."

"Oh?" Edgar raised an eyebrow, "Who is it, is it convenient to tell me?"

"Mr Edgar, you should know very well that the most important thing in business is credit, and I won't tell you if I promise to help someone keep a secret."

Edgar nodded, "Fine, it's fine if you don't tell me. Then I'll just use a guess."

He thought hard, "It's Arlice, isn't it?"

Winchell blushed and shook his head in some panic to deny it, "No, it's not him! How can it be him?"

Edgar snorted, "You don't have to deny it, the look on your face tells me it's him."

"What?" Winchell said with evasive eyes, "I ... When did I tell you it was him?"

"Uncle Winchell," Edgar raised the list in his hand, "these herbs belong to the Khan family, and for him to Arlice to transport them privately without my consent is tantamount to theft, and you are an accomplice. With such a large quantity and a large amount of money, this is a sentence of ten years or more."

Winchell sniffed, his face slowly turning white as he tightened his hands uneasily.

Edgar hooked his lips and continued, "If you can admit today that Arlice made you declare these herbs for export, then I can let you go and this has nothing to do with you." "Mr Edgar cuts, I think you've got the wrong man."

At this point, Winchell was still dead set on not letting go, "These herbs don't belong to Arlice, they belong to someone else. So don't you dare try to use me against Arlice." At that, Edgar instantly went cold, staring him dead in the face.

I know you've always had a problem with Arlice and are afraid he'll take over your position as president, so you're using me to deal with him.

Edgar looked at him quietly, came over for a moment, and suddenly smiled.

"Uncle Winchell, you think too much. I never wanted to deal with Arlice, but he was thinking all the time about how to target me and how to pull me down from this president position." He tossed the list onto his desk and sighed, "Since you won't tell the truth, I'll just have to leave this to the police."

Then he called Ivor in, "Call the police and tell them that I have an important lead on my side."

"Yes."

Ivor led the way and went out quickly.

Winchell's head was bowed, his eyes dripping and his hands clenched uneasily.

It was clear to him that Edgar was not trying to scare him, but was really going to hand him over to the police.

The Boddy family is not like the Khan family, and if they were to get themselves into the police station, they wouldn't be able to get out for a while, let alone think that Arlice would save him.

Edgar sat on the edge of his desk and glanced at Winchell, then raised his hand to his wristwatch, "It's just after ten o'clock at night, the police will be here in twenty minutes, so you have ten minutes to think about it."

"I advise you, don't get yourself into this for Arlice, it's not worth it."

Winchell clenched his palms and whirled them loose as he lifted his head, "If I tell the truth, will you really let me go?"

Edgar laughed, "I'm always good to my word."

Winchell was silent.

Seeing that he was still hesitant, Edgar added, "I know you seem to have a low presence in the Boddy family, and Arlice would have asked for your help for the same reason. As soon as you're found out, he can just drop you and it won't affect the Boddy family at all."

These words hit Winchell like a smothering punch to the head and he instantly came to his senses.

"Okay, I'll tell you the truth."

In any case, it was himself, not Arlice, he should have saved the most.

Done!

Edgar laughed and jumped off the table, taking the recorder that rested on the table in his hand by the way.

Turning on the recorder, he said, "Now you can start talking."

So Winchell told Edgar exactly what Farabee had found him to do to help.

Edgar's handsome face was tense as he listened, the corners of his mouth curled in a sneer: "It's true that the heart is not enough to swallow the elephant. arlice has a big appetite."

"Can I go now?" Winchell asked.

Edgar looked up at him and raised an eyebrow, "No. You can't leave until after Arlice and I have confronted each other face to face."

Winchell got anxious, "You, you have to let me go right now."

"I'm trying to protect you." Edgar turned and walked over to the boss's chair and sat down, "If I let you go now, once Arlice learns that you told me everything, then he will certainly turn on you." "I'm his uncle, he wouldn't dare." Winchell said.

"Is that so?" Edgar sneered, "One of my company's employees is still lying in the hospital, he was getting better but Arlice sent someone to secretly inject him with a poison specifically to keep him from waking up, he's still in danger at the moment, I don't know if he'll make it."

Winchell shook his head, "No way, Arlice couldn't have done something like that."

He didn't believe it, and Edgar didn't force him to, "You can't leave for a while anyway. My assistant will replace you a place to stay and I'll let you go when it's over."

"You're unlawfully detained!" Winchell snapped.

"I'm just trying to protect you."

Edgar called Ivor in again and instructed him to get Winchell settled.

It was only when Ivor left with a resigned Winchell that Edgar left the office and went home.

Just as the car was parked, Hector and Eloise returned.

Edgar got out of the car, looked at Eloise as she got out and asked with a smile, "Eloise, did you have a good time tonight?"

Eloise shrugged her shoulders, "Pretty boring party. How come you weren't there though?"

"Something came up at work and I couldn't go." Edgar looked to the man behind her, "Hector, do you have a moment later?" Hector nodded, "Yes."

"All right then, I have something to tell you."
