Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1022: Hector, I'm afraid I'm going to die
As soon as they learned that Eloise was awake, Solomon and Sweety pulled their legs up and ran for the upstairs bedroom. Frightened, Brimlad shouted after them, "Be careful, you guys!"
The two little ones didn't listen, but they made it to the door of the room in one bound, and Sweety stopped dead in her tracks.
Sweety glanced at the closed door and asked quietly, "Brother, is Mummy still mad at me?"
Solomon pursed his lips and took her hand, "No, Mummy won't be mad at you. Let's go inside."
With those words, he opened the door and led Sweety inside.
At the sound of the door opening, Eloise turned her head towards the door and the corners of her mouth turned upwards at the sight of the two little ones. Sweety looked up and met her gaze and hurriedly looked down, not daring to look at her.
Eloise frowns slightly.
Solomon took Sweety by the hand and walked over to the bed.
"Mummy, how are you feeling, are you still uncomfortable?" Solomon's baby face had worry written all over it.
Eloise reached out and stroked his head, saying softly, "Mummy's fine, nothing's wrong."
Solomon turned his head and looked to his sister at his side, "Sweety, you talk to Mummy too."
Sweety bit her lip, her eyes reddening at the thought that it was because of her mummy that she had fainted.
She was not a good girl.
"Sweety," Eloise called out gently.
Sweety burst into tears with a cry.
This startled Eloise and she reached out to pull her closer, "Why are you crying, sweetie?"
"I made Mummy faint, I ... wasn't a good boy." Sweety said as she cried, tears scrambling back like beads with broken strings.
A little face was red.
Eloise was heartbroken and took her into her arms, wiping her tears as she said, "Mummy's fainting has nothing to do with you. You'll always be a good boy in Mummy's heart." At those words, Sweety looked up at her with teary eyes, "Mommy wasn't mad?"
"Well ..." Eloise thought hard, "Mummy wasn't angry. Mommy was just anxious because you couldn't have ice cream, weren't you?"
Sweety lowered her head and deflated, "Sweety knows that, but Sweety wants to eat it."
Eloise laughed, "Mummy wants it too, but Mummy knows she can't have it and holds back, we Sweety can do it too, can't we?" Sweety didn't answer.
It was true that it was not easy to ask a small child to control himself.
But Eloise believed in her child.
It took a moment before a small soft voice sounded, "Well, Mummy can do it, and Sweety can do it."
Eloise smiled at this and immediately stroked Sweety's little head, "That's a good boy."
She let go of Sweety and looked at the two little ones with a serious look on her face, "You have to listen to your aunt and uncle these days, okay?"
The two little ones nodded heavily and replied in unison, "Yes."
At that moment, Brimlad came in with a bowl of soup, "What are you talking about?"
"Grandma and Uncle." Solomon and Sweety shouted crisply.
Brimlad smiled, "Good girls."
She placed the bowl on the bedside table and looked over at Eloise, "This is fish soup I made myself, you can drink it while it's hot." "Thank you little aunt."
Eloise obeyed and brought it over, bowing her head and sipping it slowly.
Brimlad sat down on the edge of the bed and looked at her closely, asking with concern, "Are you feeling better?"
Eloise looked up, "Yes, much better."
"Why did you faint for good reason?" Brimlad was puzzled.
When Edgar had told her about it, it had scared her so much that she had rushed back from the hospital.
"It's probably low blood sugar or something." Eloise took a sip of her soup and pulled out a random excuse.
She hadn't planned to tell her brother-in-law the truth, mostly because she was afraid that if she found out, she would be worried.
Brimlad bought her story and immediately changed to a serious look, "Your health is so bad, I have to give you a good tonic to make up for it."
"No need for that, Auntie." Eloise looked resistant, "I'll be fine with more rest, no need for tonic."
She was afraid that she would have to have this soup and that soup every day.
"No, you have to take it." Brimlad's attitude was firm.
Eloise laughed dryly, knowing that she couldn't resist, she had to compromise, "Then I'm sorry, Auntie."
"It's no trouble at all, as long as you get better, what's a little soup for me to make."
Looking at Brimlad, who was treating her as if she were his own daughter, her heart filled with emotion and the corners of Eloise's eyes became slightly moist. "Don't worry, you'll still look good even if you gain ten or twenty pounds."
Brimlad's reassurance made Eloise cry and laugh, "That would only make a good looking fat person."
"A fat person is a fat person, Hector doesn't mind."
Brimlad, seeing that the soup was not yet finished, gestured for her to hurry up and took the two children downstairs first himself.
After finishing the soup, Eloise leaned back on the bed and looked up at the ceiling with a faint trace of sadness lingering in her eyes.
As long as the virus was in her body, she was in danger for one more day.
And she didn't know if she would be able to wait for the medicine to come out that would destroy the virus.
The thought that she might die sent a wave of panic and uncomfortable feelings through her heart.
She didn't want to die.
Caught up in that panic and fear, she did not notice Hector enter.
As Hector approached, his heart clenched as he clearly sensed the helplessness and sadness emanating from her.
"Eloise," he called softly.
At the sound of his voice, Eloise hastened to collect all her thoughts and looked up at him, feigning displeasure, "Why did you come in without a sound, you startled me." Hector gazed deeply at her, "What were you thinking?"
Eloise stared, "Just now? Was I just thinking about something?"
Her eyes wavered, not daring to look at him.
She didn't want him to know she was scared, didn't want him to worry.
A sigh escaped Hector's lips, "Eloise, do you think I'm not worried because you're like this?"
Eloise bit her lip and didn't say anything.
"Do you think I'm really relieved when you tell me you're not afraid when you're obviously scared?"
"You don't have to pretend to be strong in front of me, you can be scared if you want to be scared, you can be sad if you want to be sad, you don't have to hide any emotions." Hector's voice was so gentle, so gentle that Eloise's eyes rose in a mist of water and sourness, and with a blink of an eye, tears rolled down her face.
Seeing this, Hector sighed softly and reached out to take her into his arms, his palms gently stroking her soft hair as if he were treating a precious treasure.
He didn't say another word, just held her quietly.
Eloise cried for a moment, biting her lip and tilting her head up.
He ducked his head in response and met her eyes.
"Hector, I'm afraid I'm going to die."
The moment the word "die" came out of her mouth, Hector felt like an invisible hand had ripped his heart out.
Instantly, blood and flesh blurred, and pain shot through all his limbs.
Hector curbed all emotions, curved his lips and said soothingly, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
His voice was soft and gentle, like a warm spring breeze brushing over Eloise's heart, dispelling the overlying gloom.
