Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1024: Who is really better

Earlene slowly put down her phone, her eyebrows furrowed, why did she feel that something was wrong with Eloise?

Thinking back on the few questions Eloise had asked, it always felt like she knew something.

After thinking about it, she was still unsure.

So she decided to go to the Khan family, face to face, and maybe she could see something.

She hit the steering wheel, turned around and headed in the direction of the Khan family's old house. Eloise hung up the phone and became irritable.

She lay down on her bed and pulled up the covers to cover herself, trying to calm herself in this way. Before she knew it, she was asleep.

It was not until a sudden knock on the door that she was awakened and sat up sleepily from her bed.

She rubbed her temples and waited for her somewhat groggy head to slow down before she turned her head to the door and raised her voice to ask, "Who is it?" "Miss. Eloise, it's me."

It was the housekeeper.

"What is it?"

"A guest has come to see you."

Eloise frowned, a visitor?

She didn't know anyone in Kyoto, so how could someone come to see her?

Could they be from City J?

She lifted the covers off the bed and slipped on her slippers, raising her hand to run through her hair as she walked out.

When she came downstairs and saw Earlene sitting in the living room, it was as if a bowl of cold water had been thrown over her, and her joy was instantly dissipated.

Earlene stood up and looked at her with a smile Brimlad, "Eloise."

Eloise pursed her lips and walked slowly over, forcing out a smile as she asked, "What brings you here?"

"I came to see how your health is, I was afraid you were lying to me."

With that, Earlene stepped forward and intimately pulled her to the sofa and sat down, taking in the look carefully, the smile on her face intensifying, "I see you look well, you shouldn't be lying to me." Eloise moved to the side without a trace, "How could I lie to you? If I say I'm fine, I'm fine."

"I watched you faint, it almost scared me to death."

At those words, Eloise smiled apologetically, "I'm sorry for the scare."

Earlene frowned incredulously, "What are you apologising for? It's not like I'm blaming you or anything, I'm just expressing how I was feeling." Eloise smiled, not saying anything.

Earlene raised her eyebrows and asked, seemingly carelessly, "Eloise, did you have some kind of misunderstanding about me?"

"No." Eloise had a shake of her head.

"Then why do I feel as if you've become colder, you didn't used to be like this."

Earlene's gaze locked on her, afraid she might miss the slightest change in her expression.

"What's wrong with me?" Eloise pretended to be puzzled, "I haven't become cold."

"Then why did you just hang up the phone?" Earlene trailed off.

"I ..." Eloise frowned and said casually, "I was just tired and wanted to rest, and also thought you should be okay, so I hung up."

At this point, she couldn't help but smile, "I guess you misunderstood?"

With this smile, she was again no different from before.

Earlene couldn't help but wonder if she really was overthinking things.

Seeing her lack of response, Eloise called out softly, "Earlene?"

Earlene looked back up and met her clear eyes with an inexplicable sense of weakness.

"I didn't misunderstand." Earlene denied.

Eloise nodded, "That's good."

Both of them fell silent, the atmosphere a little awkward.

After a while, Eloise suddenly stood up, "By the way, I forgot to pour your coffee, wait a minute."

With those words, she hurriedly walked towards the kitchen.

But Eloise didn't really want to spend much time with her right now.

After about a few minutes, Eloise came over with coffee and a snack.

"Drink your coffee." She placed the coffee on the table in front of Earlene and sat down smoothly on the side sofa. Earlene smiled weakly, "Thanks."

As she picked up her coffee and sipped it, Eloise casually asked, "Don't you have to work today?"

"I was going to work, but didn't I call you halfway? Just came by to see you."

Earlene put her coffee down, looked around and asked, pretending not to notice, "Is Mr Hector not here?"

At the word 'Mr Hector', Eloise's eyebrows jumped slightly, so she was asking about Hector after all.

She smiled, "He left early in the morning."

Earlene smiled and nodded, "So, that's tough."

"It was quite hard." Eloise nodded approvingly.

Once again the two men lapsed into silence.

Earlene squinted at Eloise and the corners of her mouth lifted, "By the way, are you curious about my feelings?"

"No." Eloise denied.

She was just curious about whether Earlene liked Hector or not.

Not expecting her to deny it so straight away, Earlene was a little embarrassed, "Because you asked me those questions, I thought you were curious about my feelings." "I was asking for my cousin." Eloise pulled Edgar out as an excuse.

"Actually, Mr Edgar and I have made it very clear that he and I will just be friends and going further is out of the question."

At that, Eloise frowned, testing the waters smoothly, "Why? My cousin is good too, maybe not as bad as the guy you like."

"No." Earlene shook her head, looking particularly serious, "In my mind, he's not even a tenth as good as the guy I like."

At the mention of the person she liked, her whole expression was different, extraordinarily radiant.

The thought that that person could be Hector gave Eloise a feeling inside that she couldn't quite put into words.

Eloise lowered her eyes, hiding the emotion underneath them, "Is that so good, is that as good as Hector?"

Earlene was stunned, not knowing how to answer.

When she didn't answer, Eloise lifted her eyes and saw her slightly stunned expression, she couldn't help but laugh softly, "Is it hard to answer?"

"It's not hard, actually." Eloise smoothed the stray hair from her cheek behind her ear and continued, "In your own mind's eye, the best one is always the one you like." Earlene understood, of course, but the problem was that the one she liked and Mr Hector were the same person.

That's why she didn't know what to choose for a while.

"Who's better, anyway?"

Looking at Eloise's expectant look, Earlene pursed her lips and smiled, "Mr Hector is better, of course."

"Is that so?" Eloise was a little surprised, "I thought you were going to choose who you liked."

"How dare I not choose Mr Hector in front of you. i was afraid you would be angry." Earlene said, half jokingly, half seriously.

Eloise laughed, "I'm not that petty."

Earlene thought for a moment before speaking cautiously, "Eloise, would you be angry if I said I liked Mr Hector?"

Was she admitting it?

Eloise stared at her, her face maintaining a constant smile, "I wouldn't be angry, but I would be upset."

The tone of her reply was serious.

Earlene smiled awkwardly, "That too, I would have diarrhoea in my place."
