Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1025: Do you ask or don't you ask?

Earlene had come over to test Eloise, and since she couldn't get anything out of the test, there was no point in her staying any longer. "Eloise, I have to get back to work, so I won't talk much longer." She stood up and said with a smile.

"That's fine, take care on your way."

Eloise walked her to the door and watched her drive off in her car before turning around and heading back inside.

As she walked upstairs, she wondered if Earlene had really come to see her after all.

Suddenly her feet hit the floor.

No, she hadn't really come to see her, but to test her.

Why else would she ask a question like that?

-- "Eloise, would you be mad if I said the person I liked was Mr Hector?"

A curve lifted Eloise's lips at the thought of that statement, but the smile didn't reach her eyes.

She had thought Earlene was genuinely interested in being friends with her, but she hadn't realised it was with an agenda.

To think that she had treated Earlene like a good friend, with sincerity, but in the end, she was coveting her husband.

It was hard to feel blocked up inside.

She took a deep breath and secretly told herself to try not to hang out with Earlene in the future.

...

Hector went to the Khan Group with Edgar early in the morning.

"Hector, are you sure you want to talk to Arlice straight?" Edgar asked uncertainly.

He was afraid that Arlice would still bite the bullet and deny it.

Hector gave a faint "hmm".

Edgar didn't know what to say, so he just said, "Good luck, then."

With Edgar looking at him, Hector walked out of the president's office.

In the vice president's office, Arlice picked up the calendar on his desk and drew a cross over the date numbers with a pen. "One, two, three ...."

He counted the red crosses on it and the corners of his mouth curled up slowly, "Today is the fifth day, I'd like to see how Edgar is going to save the day in the remaining three days." "Knock, knock..."

A short knock sounded on the door.

He turned his head and looked over, "What is it?"

"Vice President, Mr Hector is here." The assistant's cautious voice rang out from the other side of the door.

Hector!

Arlice's face paled, not bothering to think about why the other man was here, he hurriedly put his calendar down, got up and went to open the door himself.

As soon as the door opened, Hector was standing behind his assistant, his expression as flat as water.

"Hector, what are you doing here?"

Arlice attempted to draw them closer together by saying "Hector".

Hector didn't hear it, but simply asked, "Mr Arlice, do you have a moment? I'd like to talk to you."

"Yes, of course." Arlice's face was all smiles, and he dared not say no.

"Come on in."

Arlice sidled up and let him in, turning to his assistant, "Bring in two cups of coffee."

"Yes." The assistant took orders and hurried away.

As he closed the door behind him, a cold glint crossed Arlice's eyes, he took a breath, put a smile on his face again and turned to Hector. "Hector, have a seat over here."

He greeted Hector and sat down on the sofa in the parlour area, taking a seat opposite him himself.

"I wonder what Hector wanted to see me about?" Arlice asked.

Hector raised his eyes, his cool gaze fell on him, his thin lips lightly parted, "You privately collaborated with SA Group and sold the herbs to SA."

At these words, Arlice's face instantly changed and he stood up violently with an agitated expression, "You ... don't talk nonsense!"

Hector looked up, the corners of his mouth curled up in a few sneers, "Nonsense? The herbs are still at sea and will arrive in Italy after a while." How could he know?

Arlice panicked, his eyes drifting, momentarily confused, not knowing what to say.

Hector looked at him with a sneer in his eyes, "Mr Arlice, you're selling herbs on your own, what do you think will happen if the board replaces out?" "You're threatening me?" Arlice stared at him with wide eyes.

Hector confessed frankly, "I am threatening you."

Arlice sneered, "And do you have proof that I did it?"

Hector stared at him and didn't answer.

Arlice thought he had no proof and smiled, his smile full of smugness, "Mr Hector, you casually slander me for selling herbs privately without proof, do you think I can sue you for slander?" "Do you think you are the only one who can contact SA Group?" Hector asked unhurriedly.

The smile on Arlice's face froze instantly, yes, how could he have forgotten about this?

Hector got up, calm and collected, "I can have my assistant contact Pierce now and ask him if he's approached you for a shipment of herbs."

Arlice had the feeling that he had moved a stone and gritted his teeth as he asked hatefully, "What do you want?"

"I didn't come to you to question you. Rather, I want you to get in touch with Pierce." Hector stated his purpose.

"Didn't you just say you could have your assistant contact Pierce?" Arlice caught the break and couldn't help but get agitated.

Without answering his question, Hector looked at him and said, "I can get you out of the Khan Group for good." "You!"

His words pinched Arlice's lifeline.

But Arlice quickly calmed down, "Fine, I can contact Pierce for you, but you have to let me know what you want me to contact him for."

"I want you to ask him where the herbs go and what they are used for, and ask him about the progress of SA Group's latest drug research."

Arlice frowned, "How could he possibly tell me something so secretive?"

Hector looked at him, "That's up to you."

"On me?" Arlice snorted, "You're really looking up to me. To Pierce and the SA Group, I'm a partner, I just sell him the herbs, what do I care what they're used for or where they go? Not to mention the progress of any drug research." Hector didn't want to hear so much of his bullshit and asked bluntly, "Are you asking or not asking?"

Arlice thought of his threat and nodded reluctantly, though reluctantly, "Yes, I'll ask."

There was no fear of losing firewood if you kept the green hills alive.

The deadline given by the board would be up in a few days anyway, and Edgar was in a bad position.

"I hope to have the results soon."

With those words, Hector gave him an obscure look and turned to leave.

After he had left, Arlice swept the contents of his desk to the floor in a fit of rage, bracing his hands on the edge of the table, his face as dark as ink, his eyes a shade of darkness.

He would not let Hector and Edgar get away with this one day.

When Farabee heard that Hector had come to see his son, he rushed over and when he entered the office, he saw the mess and his brow furrowed.

Arlice had his back to him.

He went over to him and asked cautiously, "What's wrong, did Hector give you a hard time?"
