Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1026: Just this once

Arlice inclined his head and stared at Farabee for a long moment before he let out a long, defeated breath, "He knows all about it."

There was no end to it, and Farabee looked puzzled, "He knows what?"

"About the partnership with SA Group."

"What?" Farabee was shocked, "How did he ... he know?"

"We approached him to work together before and he has contacts with the SA group." Arlice said.

Farabee then remembered that there was such a thing, he slapped his thigh, chagrined, "How could I have forgotten about this? If the board replaces out about this, we're really screwed!" "Screwed?" Arlice laughed coldly, "I'm still useful and he won't do anything to me."

At this Farabee was puzzled, "What do you mean by that?"

Arlice sat back in his office chair, closed his eyes and told Farabee what Hector had just told him to do.

Farabee listened with some uncertainty, "So, he won't be talking to Edgar about you for a while, is that right?"

Arlice nodded, "Not for a while, but there's no guarantee that he won't after that."

"So what should we do now?"

We were on the verge of success, but then a ghost appeared halfway.

Farabee is both angry and helpless.

"The board's deadline is coming up, so if we can't get Edgar out of the presidency, it'll be enough to give him a headache." Farabee nodded, "That's all we can do for now."

Arlice had his own plans, and there was no way he was going to give up like that.

Khan Group, he was determined to win.

...

Hector returned to the president's office and was greeted anxiously by Edgar as soon as he saw him.

"How did it go?"

"Yeah."

Hector nodded slightly, indicating that everything was in order.

Edgar breathed a long sigh of relief, "That's good. I've also spoken to the police on the phone and they're going to slow down on the man for now." "Good work." Hector said.

It would have been possible to settle the matter of the herbs in one fell swoop, but for Eloise's sake, Edgar had made a concession.

That would make things even harder for him when the deadline came and he couldn't move Arlice, knowing it was his doing.

It's not a good feeling to hold back.

So, Hector felt sorry for Edgar.

Not sure if he saw what he was thinking, Edgar smiled and waved his hand, "Eloise's business is most important, I'm not having a hard time at all." Hector curled his lips, "Thanks."

Edgar shook his head, "It's what I'm supposed to do."

Hector chatted with him for a few more moments before leaving.

Back at the old Khan family home, Hector saw Eloise sitting in the living room reading a book and walked over to her.

Hearing footsteps, Eloise craned her head just in time to see a pair of white house slippers, and her eyes went upwards with delight, ending up with a pair of deep, dark eyes. The corners of her mouth lifted and her voice flushed with sweetness, "You're back."

Hector smiled softly, "Well, back."

Eloise stood up, hands behind her back, and looked at him with a smile on her face, "Why did you leave so early today? I didn't know you were out until I woke up." The soft, sticky voice carried a hint of petulance.

Hector's heart melted into water as he reached out to help her smooth her hair behind her ears and explained in a gentle voice, "I went to talk to Arlice about something." "You went to see Arlice?" said Eloise, dismayed.

"About the virus."

Eloise frowned thinly, "How does he know about the virus?"

"He doesn't. The SA Group does. I want to use him to get details about the virus from the SA group."

Eloise couldn't understand it a little, "Is that necessary, and how could he possibly agree to that?"

"You don't have to worry about that, I'll take care of it."

Hector didn't want her to worry about that and changed the subject, "We'll pick up Solomon and Sweety later and eat out at lunch."

Eloise said "Oh", "So Arlice..."

"I said, don't worry about it." Hector interrupted her, "The most important thing for you to do now is to get well."

Eloise bristled and muttered in a small voice, "Can I get well with this body?"

Hector heard this and his originally relaxed expression suddenly became serious. He took her shoulders in his hands and bowed his head, his tone extremely serious, "Don't talk about losing heart, didn't we agree to grow old together?" Meeting his serious gaze, Eloise suddenly felt that she had been too selfish, always forgetting his feelings and saying such demoralising things.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that." Eloise took a deep breath and smiled brightly, "As long as you're there, everything will probably be okay."

Hector smiled back, "It's not that it might be okay, it's a hundred percent sure."

Eloise nodded heavily, "Yeah, 100 percent sure."

...

Over here, Earlene had just arrived at work when Rawlins called her into his office.

"What is it?" She stood in front of Rawlins with a cold look on her face.

Rawlins laughed bitterly, "Earlene, can't you give me a good look? After all, I'm still your big brother, your boss, right?"

Earlene was unmoved, "If you have something to say, say it, if not I'm leaving."

With that, she turned around and made to leave.

"Wait." Rawlins hastily called out to her and sighed, "Forget it, you've been like this for years anyway."

Earlene turned upright and looked at him coldly.

"Pierce from the SA Group is coming to the capital in a couple of days, you and I will go and meet him then." Rawlins said.

"No way." Earlene refused outright.

Rawlins wrinkled his brow, "Why not?"

"No means no, there's no reason."

Her indifference and willfulness drove Rawlins crazy, and if it weren't for his feelings for her, he'd want to tell her to get out right now. Sometimes when he thought about it, he was a real bitch, knowing that she hated him, but he was always up for her to slap him. Rawlins took a deep breath and hid his thoughts, "Just this once, okay?"

The begging tone of his voice made Earlene feel as if she had gone a little too far?

Although she had never liked Rawlins, he had worked for the Bartram family for many years and had never had second thoughts.

He had never given up on her.

She can't help thinking of Hector, the man who only has eyes for Eloise.

What is the difference between her and Rawlins.

They are both poor people who are in love with an impossible man.

Maybe it was because she was in sympathy that Earlene's heart softened, "Okay, just this once. I'll go with you this time, next time... no, there won't be a next time." Rawlins was prepared for another rejection and was shocked to hear her say yes, taking a moment to react.

"Thank you, Earlene," he said, raising a smile.

Earlene was a little uncomfortable, "If there's nothing else, I'll be going."

With that, and without waiting for Rawlins' reaction, he turned and strutted away.

And Rawlins was still reveling in the joy of her promise to herself.
