Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1028: You stay in Kyoto

Once the crisis was temporarily lifted and the meeting was over, Edgar let out a long breath of relief.

It was at this time that he realised his entire back was a little moist.

"Edgar," Mr Cranshaw walked up to him.

He hurriedly stood up, "Grandpa Cranshaw, thank you for still being willing to support me."

"Brat, if I don't support you, who will? I don't want your grandfather to wake up and get upset with me, an old friend."

At that, Mr Cranshaw sighed heavily, "Your grandfather would be particularly upset and angry if he knew Arlice had done this."

He had watched several of the Khan family children grow up, and apart from Edgar, the other three had crooked minds.

"Grandpa Cranshaw, cousin might just be confused for a moment." In any case, Edgar spoke up for Arlice.

Mr Cranshaw laughed softly, "Well, don't speak for him. I'm old, but not so old that I can't see a man."

Edgar pursed his lips and said nothing more.

"You, hurry up and get to the bottom of this in the next three days and give the directors an explanation, you know?" Edgar nodded, "I know."

"Don't let me, or anyone else, down again."

Mr Cranshaw gave him a heavy pat on the shoulder, then sighed as he walked out the door.

Edgar stood still, a helpless sigh spilling from his lips; it was no longer possible to investigate as clearly as he wanted to.

...

Eloise walked into the study with fruit in her hand, saw Hector's back standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window talking on the phone, and walked over to him with a lighter step, placing the fruit gently on the table. "Well, you can let the police pursue it, you don't have to worry about Arlice's side."

She had put the fruit down and was about to go out, just in time to hear these words, so she hastily withdrew her foot and turned her head to look at Hector.

Only to see Hector hang up the phone and turn around to meet her surprised gaze, the corners of his mouth tugging up in a shallow curve, "What's wrong?"

"Are you talking to your cousin on the phone?" Eloise asked.

Hector nodded, "Yeah."

Eloise thought for a moment and responded, "Is the deadline up?"

"Well, it's here."

"So... did he do anything about it, did the board give him a hard time?" Eloise was anxious, she was afraid that because of what she had done Edgar would have to hand over the Khan Group.

Hector walked up to her and said softly, "You don't have to rush. It's difficult for sure, but with Mr Cranshaw's support, the board has given him another three days."

Eloise breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good."

But the next second her heart lifted, "Another three days won't help, you need Arlice's help now and there's nothing he can do about Arlice."

"Who said I needed Arlice's help?" Hector asked.

Eloise frowned in confusion, "Didn't you ask him to get information about the virus from the SA group?"

"Indeed." Hector nodded, "But that doesn't mean I needed his help, and he didn't ask for anything from Pierce."

Arlice had contacted Pierce as he'd asked, but Pierce was too defensive for Arlice to ask anything about the virus out of his mouth.

In other words, Arlice hadn't done what he'd asked.

"So, now Cousin can move on to Arlice, can't he?" Eloise asked uncertainly.

Hector smiled, "That's right. In three days time, I'm sure Edgar will give the board a satisfactory explanation."

Now Eloise finally put her foot down completely, "It would be best if that was indeed the case."

"Screw if." Hector said.

Eloise couldn't help but smile, "Good, cousin will be able to do that."

Hector smiled and took her into his arms, but the smile slowly faded at the thought of her physical condition. Unable to get useful information from Pierce, then he would have to let Ramm go straight to Bergerian.

But once he did, Bergerian was no easy man, and would certainly have something to fight back with. The situation might get a bit complicated then.

"Eloise," he called softly.

Eloise tilted her small face up from his arms and curled the corners of her mouth, "I'm in, you say."

"In a few days, I'll go back to City J and you'll stay in Kyoto. No matter what happens to City J, you can't go back."

His tone was a little serious and Eloise couldn't help but wrinkle her thin eyebrows, "Why?"

"Don't ask, you just have to trust me."

Hector let go of her and lowered his head.

Four eyes met.

Eloise couldn't understand what he meant and was worried, "Of course I trust you, but the least you can do is let me know what you're going to do."

Hector laughed, "What can I do but tell Almeida and the others to hurry up and work on a drug that will destroy the virus."

Eloise was smart enough to guess what he was thinking from that statement, "You're not thinking of going after Bergerian, are you?"

"You're overthinking it." Hector squeezed her shoulders, "I'm not going to Bergerian."

"I don't trust you."

Eloise shook her head to show she didn't believe him.

Hector gave a helpless smile, "I know Bergerian probably has the drugs to deal with the virus, but I'm not going to put my life on the line. Because I still have you, I have Solomon, Sweety." Eloise stared at him deadpan, not speaking.

Seeing this, a feeling of powerlessness flooded over him and Hector sighed in frustration, "Eloise, you trust me, okay?"

"You're really not lying to me?" Eloise asked.

"Yeah."

Eloise took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, "Then fine, I'll believe it for now. But if you let me know you went to Bergerian, I'll go right back to City J to replace you." "Good." Hector took her back into his arms.

At this angle, Eloise didn't see his expression sink momentarily, his dark eyes as deep as tan, unable to read his mind at the moment.

...

Arlice was furious to learn that the board had given Edgar time again, and scolded several directors who were on his side.

"What the hell are you doing, can't a few of you win against that old man Mr Cranshaw?" Arlice angrily questioned the few directors in front of him.

The directors were also aggrieved.

"Arlice, it wasn't Mr Cranshaw's decision alone, the others supported it too."

"Exactly, there's only a few of us, how could we possibly win over them?"

...

Arlice smiled, but the smile did not reach the bottom of his icy eyes, "What are you arguing for now? I'm telling you, if Edgar investigates me, you won't be able to get away with it either." As soon as these words were spoken, several directors immediately panicked.

"That won't do, we're just supporting you, your business has nothing to do with us."

As soon as Arlice heard this, his face expression instantly grimaced, "Don't try to take yourself out, we are the ones in the same boat, once this boat turns over, neither you nor I will have a good time."
