Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1033: Gotcha
Manzanares saw that Pierce wouldn't leave and in a fit of anger raised his hand and slapped the woman across the face. Pierce stopped him with a quick eye and scolded, "A man who hits a woman is not a gentleman!"
Glaring at the woman who was hiding behind Pierce, Manzanares snapped, "Come here."
The woman bit her lip and kept shaking her head, her eyes tearing up.
The look made Pierce feel compassionate, "She won't go back with you, so don't give her a hard time." Manzanares didn't say a word and stared at the woman for a moment before turning away in annoyance.
No one noticed that as soon as he turned around, a pleasant smile curled the corners of his mouth.
Watching Manzanares drive away, Pierce turned his head and said to the pitiful woman, "He's gone, you go home."
"I don't have a home." The woman said as she cried.
Pierce and Rawlins looked at each other and in the end, naturally, the woman was taken back to the hotel by Pierce. As soon as Manzanares got into the car, he called Hector.
As soon as he got through, he said in an excited tone, "Brother, it's done."
Eloise had just fallen asleep and Hector, fearful of disturbing her, took the phone out to the balcony.
"Got it?" He asked in a hushed voice.
"No, I mean my men are close to Pierce, what you want will be available soon."
Hector was calm compared to Manzanares' excitement.
"Call me when you get the stuff,"
With that, Hector simply hung up the phone, not giving Manzanares a chance to speak.
"Hey, hey, hey!"
Manzanares looked at the hung up phone and the corners of his mouth twitched, it really was too much!
He wanted to show off his cleverness properly, but he didn't even give him a chance.
...
The next morning, Eloise went downstairs for breakfast and for the first time in her life, Edgar was there.
Eloise looked at the time and was a bit curious, "Cousin, you've already gone to work at this time in the past, why are you still at home today?" "Too much to drink, got up late." Edgar's face didn't look very good.
"Did your sister-in-law make you a sober soup?" Eloise asked.
"I drank it."
Edgar raised a hand to rub his aching temples; it wasn't really the drinking that was killing him, it was Earlene.
Just the thought of who Earlene liked made his head pound.
Seeing how hard he was feeling, Eloise said with concern, "Cousin, why don't you just rest at home today and don't go to the office."
Edgar looked up at her and smiled softly, "I'm fine, I'll be fine later."
"Is that so?" Eloise wasn't convinced, "Shall I send Hector over to help you?"
"No need." Edgar finished the rest of his milk, got up, walked over to her, reached over and patted her shoulder, smiling, "Don't worry about me, I'm not that fragile." Eloise took a deep breath, "All right. But if you're really uncomfortable, come back early and rest, don't push through."
Edgar nodded, "Okay. You eat your breakfast, I'm off to work."
He smiled, and turned to leave.
But after a few steps, he suddenly stopped dead in his tracks.
Seeing this, Eloise asked suspiciously, "What's wrong?"
Edgar hesitated before turning back, "Eloise, would you mind or be angry if your friend liked Hector?"
Eloise was stunned by his sudden question and then reacted to who he was referring to.
She pursed her lips and asked tentatively, "You know?"
Edgar frowned, "What do you mean by that? Do you know about... too?"
"Just what you think." Eloise shrugged, looking a little helpless.
She didn't want to know either, but who was making Earlene act so obvious?
Edgar laughed, "Looks like I was worried for nothing."
He had been worried that it would hurt her if she found out about it.
Instead, he hadn't expected her to know already.
"Did she tell you that?" Eloise asked.
"No." Edgar shook his head, "I found out myself."
"Well..." Eloise weighed her words, "So are you okay?"
Even if the person he liked liked another man, it turned out that this man was no other than his own Hector.
It was a bit ridiculous and helpless that this was happening to him.
"What can I do?" Edgar curled his lips in self-deprecation, "She made it very clear a long time ago that she wouldn't like me anyway."
Although he sounded as if he didn't care, Eloise knew he must not be feeling well inside.
However, she didn't know how to comfort him, and after thinking about it, she only managed to stifle a sentence, "Cousin, you're also very good, you're not inferior to Hector at all." At that, Edgar laughed out loud, "I don't feel bad at all if you say that."
Eloise smiled back, "That's good."
"Off to work."
Edgar waved his hand and strutted off.
Eloise watched his figure disappear from sight before pulling her chair back and sitting down, starting to eat her breakfast.
...
As soon as he entered the office building, Edgar met Arlice.
In the past, Arlice would greet Edgar with a smile, even though he didn't like him.
But today, Arlice just gave him a cold glance and walked straight into the lift.
Edgar raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.
When he reached his office, he received a call from the police.
"Mr Edgar, got the man."
Edgar hung up the phone and got up, striding towards the door, pulling it open as he did so.
Ivor was about to go in to brief him on his day's schedule when the two almost collided.
"What's wrong with you, President?" Ivor asked, puzzled.
"Push all of today's schedule back and you and I will go to the police station."
Edgar explained as he walked towards the lift.
Ivor was busy nodding, "Okay."
When the two arrived at the police station, a police officer greeted them, "Mr Edgar, the man is in the interrogation room, Oficial Natal asked you to wait outside." Edgar nodded and walked over to a bench and sat down.
After about twenty minutes or so, Oficial Natal finally came out.
"Oficial Natal," Edgar said as he walked up.
"The man was caught, but dead set on denying it." Oficial Natal said, "It might take a while."
"It's fine. It'll take as long as he confesses who's behind it." Edgar said.
Oficial Natal nodded, "We'll do what we can."
Edgar thought for a moment and enquired, "Can I go and meet him?"
"Sure. You come with me."
Edgar expected the criminal to be a middle-aged man in his thirties or forties, but not a young man in his twenties.
Arlice was really hard-hearted, letting such a young kid do such an unethical thing for him without fear of retribution. "Hello, I'm Edgar."
When he heard the surname 'Khan', the criminal's eyes flickered slightly and his handcuffed hands clenched into fists. Edgar noticed, and his eyes narrowed as he asked, "Do you know Arlice?"
There was no response.
Edgar wasn't in a hurry as he smiled and continued, "Arlice is my cousin, the vice president of the Khan Group, and I assume you've heard of him online."
