Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1036: Blood Draw

"Earlene and I are going to shop at the mall after dinner, I'll call you when we're done."

Hector received this message from Eloise and his brow furrowed immovably before he put his phone aside.

He didn't like the idea of Eloise hanging out with that Earlene.

Edgar, sitting across from him, mulled it over for a moment and asked cautiously, "Hector, what do you think of Earlene?" "Why do you ask?" Hector asked instead of answering.

"Nothing, just thought I'd ask. You know I like her, so I thought I'd ask what you thought."

"Not great."

Unsurprised by the answer, Edgar teased with a smile, "I see that in your eyes, no other woman is good except Eloise."

Hector raised an eyebrow noncommittally.

"In my eyes, though, she's the best." Edgar said.

"She's not right for you."

Not expecting Hector to say that, Edgar was taken aback, "Why?"

"She has a deeper heart than you, not a simple person."

"So that's what you're saying." Edgar smiled and shook his head, "In business, no one is simple. And it's good that she has a deeper mind than me, she'll be able to help me if we do get together in the future." He was really naive and simple-minded enough.

Hector didn't know what to say either.

"But, she doesn't like me." Edgar was instantly much lower in mood.

"There will be better ones." Hector got up, walked over to him and patted his shoulder.

Edgar smiled bitterly, "Maybe."

He only liked Earlene, and even if he met a better one, it wouldn't be the same as not meeting one.

"Let's not talk about it." Hector changed the subject, "How's the criminal?"

When it came down to it, Edgar immediately put his mind at ease and said, "He's not admitting guilt, and no matter how much he's asked, he won't say who put him up to it." Hector frowned, "So what are you going to do?"

"I've asked Ivor to check his family background, maybe there's something we can do."

"Arlice has probably bribed his family." Hector said.

With a mind like Arlice's, it was indeed possible that he had done so.

Edgar laughed lightly, "I was afraid he wouldn't buy it, and that would be a good thing if he did."

Once there was a monetary transaction between the two parties, it was nail-biting evidence.

"It seems you're quite sure of yourself."

He had grown a lot in the short time he had been there, from panicking at first when things went wrong, to now being so sure of himself. Grandpa Khan would have been very relieved if he had seen it.

"Of course I'm sure." Arlice smiled with confidence.

Hector nodded slightly, "Then I won't help you this time. I'll wait for your good news."

Edgar raised an eyebrow, "I'll have news tomorrow."

After saying this, the two men looked at each other and smiled.

...

This way, Earlene's house.

Earlene sat on the edge of her bedroom bed, looking at Eloise who was unconscious on the bed.

She stared at Eloise for a few moments before getting up and walking over to a side table.

On the table was a medical kit.

She opened it, took out a disposable mask and gloves from it and put them on, and took out the instruments for drawing blood.

The virus in Eloise's body, she was keen to replace out if it was the same kind as the one Pierce had shown herself.

She walked back to the bed, pulled Eloise's arm out from under the covers, found a blood vessel, sterilised it, and stuck a needle in it to draw blood. Eloise's brow furrowed slightly at the pain she felt.

Crimson blood flowed down the tube and into the test tube.

After the blood was drawn, Earlene put everything away and sat down blandly on the edge of the bed.

After about twenty minutes or so, Eloise woke up.

Her eyes were still a little dazed when she first opened them, then she realised that something was wrong and sat up miserably.

"Eloise, you're awake."

A familiar voice sounded in her ears.

Turning her head, she saw that it was Earlene.

She sighed with relief, rubbed her eyes and spoke, "Where am I?"

"My house."

"Did you faint again?"

She remembered that they were in a booth in the restaurant when her head suddenly spun and she didn't know what happened after that.

"Mmm." Earlene got up and helped her put the pillow behind her back, "It was scaring the hell out of me."

Eloise was a little overwhelmed, "I'm sorry."

Earlene smiled, "I didn't mean to blame you, are you still uncomfortable anywhere?"

"No." Eloise shook her head.

Something suddenly occurred to her and she asked, "Did you tell Hector?"

"I ... I forgot." Earlene gave a helpless smile, "I was so freaked out, I was so focused on getting you home and resting, I forgot to tell Mr Hector." "It's okay, it's good you didn't tell."

Eloise wanted to keep this under wraps, didn't want Hector to know.

She fainted so often that if Hector found out, he would be even more worried.

"You're not going to tell Mr Hector?" asked Earlene tentatively.

"Well. I don't want him to worry."

Earlene was relieved that this was just what she wanted.

"I'll help you hide it." Earlene smiled at her.

Eloise returned the smile, "Thanks."

Because of the fainting spell, Eloise didn't call Hector to come and pick her up, but was going to take a taxi home herself.

But Earlene insisted on taking her home, saying she had to go to the office and drop her off on the way.

The car pulled up in the courtyard of the old Khan family home.

"Thank you." Eloise unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the door to get out of the car.

"Eloise, wait." Earlene called out to her.

"What is it?"

"Can I come in and sit down for a while?" Earlene asked cautiously.

Eloise was in a bit of a quandary.

She knew very well that Earlene wanted to see Hector, and no woman, for that matter, would be willing to accede to such a request. "Earlene, I'm not feeling too well, so..."

She was halfway through her refusal when Brimlad happened to come out carrying scissors, seemingly to prune the rose branches in the yard.

Seeing the two of them through the lowered car window, she interrupted joyfully, "Oh, Eloise you're back, and Earlene's here too?"

"Hello, Auntie." Earlene greeted politely.

"Come, come, come in and sit down for a while."

Brimlad was very fond of his daughter-in-law, and when the opportunity arose, he wanted to invite her into his home.

Earlene pursed her lips and looked at Eloise, "Eloise ..."

It seemed as if she was asking her what she meant.

But when the matter had come to this, Eloise could not say anything more, her voice could not be heard as she said, "Since your sister-in-law has invited you, come in and have a seat." So the three of them went into the old house together.

Brimlad greeted Earlene and sat down in the living room, pulling Eloise to the side and asking in a whisper, "What brings Earlene here?"

"She gave me a ride home." Eloise answered back truthfully.

Brimlad thought for a moment, "Call your cousin quickly and tell him to come home."

"Huh?" Eloise didn't understand what she meant.

"Why are you being stupid today?" Brimlad frowned, "Doesn't your cousin like Earlene, we have to create opportunities."

"Oh." Eloise responded, "Okay, I'm going to call."

She ran to the side and called Edgar.

It was soon answered, "Eloise, what's up?"

"Cousin, are you done with work? If you're done go home early." Eloise said.

"Come home early?"

"Yes, Earlene's here."

As soon as Edgar heard "Earlene is here", he stood up abruptly and grabbed his jacket from the back of the chair while saying to Eloise on the other side of the phone, "I'll be back now."
