Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1038: I'm going back to City J tomorrow

Hector returned to the Khan family and did not see Earlene.

When he entered the room, he looked at Eloise suspiciously, "I thought you said ..."

Eloise narrowed her eyes and looked at him askance with feigned displeasure, "Are you disappointed?" "No."

"Really?" Eloise wasn't quite convinced.

Hector couldn't help but lose his smile, "Why would I be disappointed?"

"Why?" Eloise thought hard, "She's pretty and good, the type of girl you men like."

Hector raised an eyebrow, "So?"

"So..." Eloise was confused by the question.

"Are you jealous?" Hector looked at her with a smirk.

"I'm not!" Eloise turned sideways and raised her chin proudly.

Hector laughed as he walked over and took her into his arms, his gentle voice ringing in her ear, "It's none of my business how beautiful or good someone else is, you'll always be the only one in my eyes." "Really?" The corners of Eloise's mouth could not be restrained from rising upwards as her heart glowed.

"Of course it's true."

Eloise bit her lip, "But... I'm not good enough to help you in your career even if I can't, and I've caused you a lot of trouble."

At that, Hector turned her around so that they were face to face.

His brow furrowed, "Did Earlene say something to you?"

Why did that sound wrong?

Eloise wrinkled her brow and asked tentatively, "Did she say something like that in front of you?"

Hector pursed his lips and didn't answer.

Eloise suddenly figured something out and she couldn't help but laugh, "No wonder you told me to keep my interactions with her to a minimum at the time, that's why." "Maybe you genuinely thought of her as a friend, but she may not." Hector said.

He had been reluctant to spell it out at the time because he didn't want her to be disappointed, after all Earlene was her only friend in Kyoto.

Eloise raised an eyebrow, "She's more than insincere, she's disloyal."

Hector frowned, "What do you mean?"

"Nothing."

Since he didn't see what Earlene was trying to do to him, she didn't have to say anything.

"I'm going back to City J tomorrow," Hector said.

"Oh."

Hector stared at her, "Upset?"

Eloise shook her head, "No. Didn't you tell me I was going back a long time ago? So I was prepared for that."

Despite what she said, Hector knew that wasn't really what she had in mind.

"I'll be back in Kyoto soon." Hector wrapped his arms around her tightly and looked ahead, "Hopefully by then I'll have the medicine that will destroy the virus." Eloise curled her lips, "I hope so too."

It was a slim hope, but hope was better than nothing.

"Knock-knock-"

There was a sudden knock at the door.

Eloise looked up from Hector's arms and the two looked at each other, turning their heads to look at the door at the same time.

"Eloise, Hector, it's dinner."

It was Brimlad.

"Eh, okay, coming right up."

Eloise pushed Hector away and smiled, "Come on, let's go downstairs."

She then took his hand and headed for the door.

The two of them went downstairs together and to their surprise, they found Hector's parents there.

"Dad, Mom, what are you ... doing here?" Eloise was so shocked she couldn't speak.

"I heard you had fainted again and I wasn't sure so I came over with your dad to check." Hector's mother walked up to her, took her hand and looked her up and down from side to side. "How are you feeling?" Hector's mother asked, concerned.

"I'm very well."

Eloise was touched and couldn't help the corners of her eyes from getting wet, she sniffled, "Dad, Mum, you didn't even have to come over, I'm really fine."

"Silly child, we don't feel comfortable not coming over to see for ourselves." Hector's mother patted her hand.

Hector's father also came over and agreed, "Yeah. You don't even know how much your mother talks about you every day, my ears are getting calloused."

"Mr Fletcher!" said Hector's mother, glaring at Hector's father with feigned anger.

The latter laughed loudly and cheerfully.

Eloise couldn't help but laugh too.

"My in-laws, my in-laws, come and eat." Brimlad's sudden voice ruined the warm atmosphere.

Eloise hurriedly gathered herself and took Hector's mother's hand, "Dad, Mum, let's go, it's time to eat."

As they entered the dining room and took their seats one by one, Baggott looked at the people present and said with a smile, "It's a rare occasion for both families to get together today, so let's eat and drink freely and have fun." "Baggott is right, just treat it as your own home, don't be polite." Brimlad said to Hector's parents with a smile.

Hector's mother smiled and said, "Yes, we won't be polite."

Because of the arrival of Hector's parents, there was a lively atmosphere in the Khan family this evening and it didn't settle down until late.

After settling Hector's parents in, Eloise and Hector went back to their room.

Eloise yawned, her upper and lower eyelids fluttering.

"Shower first before you go to bed." Hector said.

Eloise leaned against him, shook her head and pouted, "I don't want to wash."

A dark light flashed in Hector's eyes and he whispered, "I'll wash you."

Eloise's sleepiness dissipated as she shook her head, "I don't need to bother you, I'll do it myself."

And with that, she rushed into the bathroom.

"Bang!"

Hector couldn't help but laugh at the closed door, why was she still so shy?

Eloise let out a long breath, that was close!

She raised a hand to cover her burning cheeks, despite the fact that they already had two children, she was still shy when it came to such things. After her shower, Eloise stepped out of the shower in her robe to replace Hector had also finished his shower.

I guess he must have gone to the guest room to wash up.

Hector waved at her, "Come here, I'll blow-dry your hair."

Eloise dutifully walked over to him.

Pulling her to sit on the bed, Hector turned on the hairdryer.

Feeling his fingertips gently massage her scalp, Eloise closed her eyes in comfort.

Who knew that she would fall asleep like that.

Seeing her head drifting a little, Hector knew that she was fast asleep.

So he turned off the hairdryer and gently laid her down on the bed, pulling the covers over her.

Eloise rolled over and got into a comfortable position.

Hector looked at her, his eyes so gentle they were dripping with water, and his mouth held a doting smile. "Good night."

He planted a soft kiss on her brow before turning and walking out of the room.

Hector went to the study, and after the evening meal, Edgar said he had something to discuss with him.

Seeing him enter, Edgar smiled and asked, "Is Eloise asleep?"

"Well, asleep."

Hector walked straight over to the sofa and sat down, asking, "What is it?"

Edgar walked over and sat down opposite him, "I want the criminal to confront Arlice, do you think that would work?"

Hector asked instead of answering, "Do you think Arlice, given his character, would admit to it?"

"No." Edgar blurted out without thinking, but then he added, "But I don't think he can weasel out of it in the face of evidence."
