Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1039: This can't be right!

Hector looked at the confident Edgar and was silent for a long time before speaking slowly, "If you're sure, go for it." "Good."

With his support, Edgar was even more confident.

The next morning, he went to the office and went straight into Arlice's office.

As usual, Arlice arrived early, and when he entered the office, he froze for a moment when he saw Edgar.

"Good morning, cousin." Edgar greeted him with a smile.

Arlice's brow furrowed and his voice was slightly displeased, "What are you doing here?"

"There is something that I have not been able to understand, so I came over to ask you, cousin, for advice."

It sounded like a modest and respectful statement, but listening closely one could still hear the sarcasm in the words.

Arlice's face became even more unpleasant and he smiled coldly, "I wouldn't dare, you'd better ask someone else."

He walked coldly past Edgar and threw his briefcase heavily onto his desk.

Edgar turned to see him tug at his tie, the annoyance evident on his face.

The smile on his lips intensifies and Edgar asks in mock confusion, "Why? There's no one in the whole company to help me now except you."

"Edgar!" Arlice called him by his first name and raised his eyes, his cold gaze directed at him, "I'm busy, I don't have time, understand?"

"Cousin, it won't take you long. Just do me a favour and help me out."

"Why are you being such a stickler? I said I don't have time!" Arlice was annoyed and his voice rose a few notches.

The smile faded from Edgar's face as he stared at the irritated Arlice, his eyebrows raised and he asked in a light tone, "So if the police are looking for you, do you have time?" Arlice blushed, "What do you mean?"

"The police have caught the criminal who injected Frankson with the poison, and the other man says you ordered him to do that, so you need to be there to confront him face to face." Edgar said slowly. He saw Arlice look briefly flustered, but quickly regained his composure.

"Bullshit!" Arlice couldn't help but burst out, "I have no quarrel with Frankson, why would I do that? Am I sick, or just too idle?"

Edgar laughed, "You're sick, or too idle, tell that to the police. And ..."

He paused and continued, "The warehouse fire and the lost batch of herbs were sold by you to the SA Group, you can't deny that, can you?"

Arlice did not say a word.

"It doesn't make sense to tell me that you didn't know Frankson the night of the fire when he was the only one on guard for the rest of the night, does it?" Edgar fixed Arlice with a critical gaze.

Arlice's eyes drifted as if he was trying to think of a way to defend himself.

Edgar laughed softly, "And the warehouse department said you went to the warehouse that afternoon and spoke to Frankson yourself, didn't they see you?"

Arlice panicked in the face of Edgar's questioning, but kept his composure and argued, "Even if I knew Frankson, does that prove that I ordered him to be injected with the poison? "How is that not logical?" Edgar raised an eyebrow, "It means you want to kill someone!"

"Edgar!" Arlice was furious, "You don't just accuse good people!"

Edgar was calm compared to his excitement, he smiled, "If you don't want to be wronged by me, then go and confront the criminal. Since you didn't do it, what are you afraid of?" "Who says I'm afraid!" Arlice retorted back.

"Well, if you're not afraid, then go."

Edgar turned to his side and made a gesture of "please".

It was only then that Arlice realised that he was being bypassed, and he glared at Edgar in annoyance.

Edgar was looking at him with a smirk.

It was hard to ride a tiger!

If he didn't go, it meant he was weak.

If he went, it would be all over if he couldn't get out of this.

Seeing that he was not moving, Edgar urged, "Cousin, what are you still thinking about? Come on."

Arlice knew there was no hiding from this.

He nodded and clenched his teeth, "Good for you Edgar!"

With those words, he huffed and walked out.

Edgar laughed and followed.

...

Arriving at the police station, Arlice met the criminal.

The criminal's eyes flashed with surprise when he saw him, as if he wasn't expecting him.

"Taurino Paz, do you know him?" Natal, the Oficial in charge of the case, asked.

The convict Taurino shook his head, "I don't know him."

At that, Arlice was relieved.

Then he remembered that Edgar had said that the criminal had identified him. Damn it!

He'd fallen for it again!

He shot Edgar a sideways glance.

Perhaps sensing his gaze, Edgar looked over.

The two men locked eyes, one with an indignant face, the other expressionless.

"Really don't know each other?" Oficial Natal asked again.

"Don't know."

Oficial Natal turned his head to Edgar, who stepped forward, his mouth curling, "Taurino, nineteen years old, divorced parents, raised by his grandparents, and some time ago his grandmother was hospitalised with a serious illness and owed the hospital a large sum of money for treatment, right?"

Taurino frowned, "You're investigating me?"

Edgar laughed, "You're a criminal, who are you investigating if not you?"

Taurino had nothing to say, his hands clasped together uneasily.

Edgar turns and walks over to Edgar, his eyes landing on his face as he continues, "But strangely enough, a few days before the murder, you suddenly had an extra amount of money in your account, and it was not a small amount." At this point, the smile on Edgar's face deepened a few notches, "Would you replace this strange, cousin?"

Arlice grimaced and didn't say a word.

"Strange, of course it's strange!" Edgar asked himself, "It's really too enviable for a young man of nineteen to have that much money in the bank in a short time."

"That ... that's what I earned, can't it?" Taurino argued.

Edgar raised an eyebrow, "Yes, of course you can. It's just that you're not earning it the right way."

He then took out his phone, flipped out the photo and held it out to Oficial Natal, "Here's the bank statement, it shows my cousin as the remitter ..."

At this, Arlice snapped, "Edgar, don't be ridiculous!"

Edgar turned his head to look at him and said with a smile, "Cousin, what's your hurry? I haven't finished my sentence yet."

Arlice stared at him deadpan, his hands falling into fists at his side.

"This remitter is not my cousin, but it is related to my cousin, and the remitter is his father."

"No way!"

Arlice rushed to grab the phone and saw that it was addressed to "Farabee".

His face went white with a swish.

It couldn't be!

It couldn't be!

He had told his father to be careful, how could he have left such a breach?

"Cousin, what do you have to say about this?" Edgar asked with a smile.
